Netplay Help.
« on: September 16, 2007, 02:32:39 PM »
Okay, I have everything. Melty Blood AC version 1.03a, MBcaster, Hamachi, and everything.

I upgraded to 1.03a, that worked. I installed Hamachi. That worked. I put the MBcaster files from the exe folder in the MBAC folder. (Main)

So, I tried to play a friend. I connect to him, and the character selection screen pops up.

Then, we both get a timeout error. I know its not him, because he can play with others, so it's me...

What's wrong? I don't get it. I even reinstalled everything...

Oh, yeah, I have a wireless connection, but I have to use that...

have you tryed playing other people? and whats thw signal quality on your wireless connection... my experiences you need atleast 3 bars to be able to play .. at 2 bars your lucky if it works(as in not horribly unbearable lagg) ... but at 4+ bars theres really no problems if your playing someone close to you.

I've tried playing about 3 people, it's the same.

ERROR: Timeout

Ugh...

And, I have a perfect connection.

After downloading MBCaster, and getting everything to work, would I need something like Hamamichi to play against people that I've never met  before? Or does MBCaster only work when you have a specific friend with a known IP address to play with?

Thanks for the help in advance, I'm quite desperate to play against another human player to have a good time, and I would appreciate it if someone could help a noob out. Thanks again.

Both Hamachi IPs and normal IPs work, Hamachi is mostly for giving a good place to meet and set up matches. There is a list of Hamachi channels stickied here, though most at the top of the list are full, some of the more recent ones have room, so just keep checking channels on the list until you get in to a few.

Sorry for the spam noob question posts... But here's another question.

After going to find and download Hamachi, I get a version from FileHippo, after searching it in Google. Hopefully I downloaded and installed the right one. I choose the base core Hamachi, without any of the fancy stuff.

After installing Hamachi, I try powering it up, and it continuously tells me that the Mediation server has rejected my login request. Anyone up to give out a bit more of advice? Thanks in advance again.

Hamachi wiki says:

This is usually the case if one of the following is occurring:

    * You have a local or network firewall blocking the communication
    * You are behind a proxy server
    * You computer's Domain Name Service cannot resolve the website.

In either of the first two cases, Hamachi is unable to connect to bibi.hamachi.cc on TCP port 12975. This is the default connection port for communication to the mediation server. If this fails, Hamachi tries to connect via SSL on the default port of TCP 443.

You'll need to either configure your firewall, or, if applicable, input your proxy settings into Hamachi Preferences > Detailed Configuration.

In the third case, ensure your computer (and router if applicable) are configured to use the DNS settings as outlined by your ISP.

Port forwarding.
do you have a static or dynamic ip?
wireless or wired?
do you have windows XP or Vista?
on the system tray do you see limited or no connectivity or nothing.
Do you see this in the system tray? (bottom left corner of the screen)

"I-P-C-O-N...'
"M?"
"No, N as in.."
"Oh, N, as in knife" "...yes..."
