When's Melty on Steam?
ahaha that's no--wait, what?
-
I was quite surprised to find out there wasn't one of these threads in the Meltybread forums, the one in Shoryuken has always been a great inspiration for me, (http://shoryuken.com/f177/check-out-my-new-arcade-stick-thread-part-deux-201537/) but id like to see what the MB community rolls with.
In any case I will start off:
This is my first and only arcade stick (yet). I have planned to make another in the future but, for now, It's my baby =D

I love that thread too! Ever since I plunked down the cash to get a reputable Hori VLX, I've been modding the bejeezus out of it for PS2 and PC support. Love it to death!

http://slagcoin.com/joystick.html was what I used, this reference site has everything and anything you ever wanted to know about Arcade Sticks.

I can help, so long as it's the PS3 version. What are you wanting to mod with it, specifically?

It looks really good. I think the only one around here that looked better was Bonkler's stick. Tempered and Kusanagi have pretty dope sticks too, on par with yours. Can't remember any other godlike ones.

I would also like to mention for anyone that doesn't know we're also selling cases via lizard lick @ DIY Cases (http://www.lizardlick.com/DIY-Cases_c_239.html)

My stick...

I so intended to have this converted into a PS2 stick by Evo this year so I can pwn face with this, but sadly, I was far too lazy to do so. Truth.

For what game? Track and field? lawwwl

What was that about Track and Field? ( I actually have the workout pad for World Class Track Meet actually...thing still works too )
No, for the lols and to see how my opponents would react, I was going to convert the stick from NES to PS2 and play with the stick as is, no changes except to make it compatible with PS2 and to make the buttons work for PS2.

Unfortunately I can't take credit for making the stick myself, but yeah it's pretty amazing. :P

My sticks:
-Classic Arcade Stick with Eletromatic parts (PS2):

In Brazil, Eletromatic is the default brand for making sticks and is (was) used in almost all cabinets in the country. Good for beginners in arcade sticks, but the joystick is not quite than a Happ one. I'm thinking to change all parts for Happ and put an art in this stick.
Hori Fighting Stick 3 (PS3 and PC)

This is the stick I recently bought from a friend in Rio de Janeiro. I'm beginning to play in japanese style parts. I will mod it very later.

i have absolutely no clue on how to mod this thing, i'm not really into sticks
there are 2 screws missing from the bottom of the square gate, the buttons aren't sensitive at all and it's unresponsive
-
lol, god i could imagine that stick being modified with a sound board so that every time you moved the joystick it would go "waka waka waka waka" :V :V :V :V

I would die from all those wakas :emo: But hell all those wakas would come in handy in a tournament. Distract the hell out of your opponents. The mindgames begin after the first waka :V

That reminds me of the "Bop-it Stick" I saw a while back.

No problem dude, just trying to offer a helping hand.
Any seimitsu users out there? I'm considering putting an LS-32-01 inside and swap out the JLF. Also considering the LS-40, too. What's everybody's opinions on JLF vs LS-32?
-
imo a ls 32 feels like a brand new jlf except it keeps that same tightness. the throw is a little bigger you won't go right from a jlf to a seimitsu you're gonna miss some motions. but once i got used to it i loved it.
-
Dunno about you but me and my jlf w octogate will never part. Feels good man.
Also, yeah shaker, if you need any help. Don't be afraid to message. As cp said, just offering a helping hand.

Got it, that reminds me, what's a good place to order replacement buttons n' stuff?

akihabarashop.jp and arcadespareparts.com are a good place to order replacement buttons and what not.
-
I highly recommend lizardlick. They have a pretty large selection and the site is easy to navigate. I'm not so much of a fan of akihabarashop anymore mostly because the layout is really web 1.0. That, and the fact that it's been over a month and counting on my order of stickers. Still no sign of them in the mail.

Good stuff there, push Ryougi's buttons.

I'm just imagining in my head that every time Rei uses his stick, he's grinding his fist on Ryougi's face and pounding his hands on her body lol

Well, I've finally modded my Hori FS3, one of the hardest sticks to mod. Now I need to put art and PCB (PS2, PS3 and PC, because I play GG, MB, etc.).
Joystick: Seimitsu LS-40-01 (Red Shaft Cover and Bubbletop)
Pushbuttons: 6x Seimitsu PS-14-D-N (Black Rim/Red Button) + 2 improvised start/select pushbuttons, all screw-in

Damn, question... how are the b15sdm sticks? No complains?
-
None. The stick is full console compatible so I can get my Melty and my next gen fix.
-
Made this a little while ago since I had no PS2 compatible stick beforehand. Really darn useful for all systems if you don't mind adapters and such.

The case is indeed one of those TEK cases which looks cool but not snuggly stable. I wouldn't recommend getting one unless you have a really cool design in mind.

Did someone say custom built arcade stick (I can't believe I haven't actually posted this here. baffling I know)?

The only thing I didn't do was the case, which I had commissioned. Set up to run on PSX/PS3/PC, thinking about ripping it apart and throwing in 360 support, but currently waaay too lazy at the moment, though I'll probably do it once I finally get off my ass and set up the back so the cables are removable.
Also, something is terribly wrong. I posted something. :psyduck:

Yeah, I bought this rarity with someone from Brazil for R$250 (+ or - $125).
FINALLY, I GOT THE PERFECT STICK imo (jap-style and PS2 =D)
-
This looks pro as hell & now I'm in the mood to upload photos of my stick.
-
how do i upload an image from my pc onto a post again?
i completely forgot how.

Upload images to a free image host such as Image Shack (http://www.imageshack.us) or any others. After uploading you just copy the forum link and paste it in here (has to be the one with the [IMG][/IMG] tags around it) or copy the direct link and put it between the [IMG][/IMG] tags yourself.

ok, thanks.
OK, let me try this again, fingers crossed.

Finally! Success!
These are the pics the modders took for me, I don't have a digital camera right now, so the pictures suck quality-wise. If I did have one I'd put up sweet pics.
The Shiki artwork and buttons have a blue that is much darker than the pic shows. The buttons are actually dark blue snap in sanwa models that you can see the color on lizardlick,...though on lizardlick the dark blue button model picture looks purpleish blue, but since I have it right in front of me trust me, they are actually just dark blue and
perfectly meshes with the dark blue of the Shiki artwork. And I mean Perfectly:)
The flash of the camera just lightened everything in the picture..
The Akiha photo was too dark and I had to use some auto-correction on my PC to fix some weird shadows.
Differences between the two are:
The Akiha stick has a Sanwa JLF with a square gate.
The Shiki stick has a Seimitsu LS-56-01 with a octogonal gate.
Both have all their buttons Sanwa.
Both are dual modded T5 Hori sticks, but I will one day get custom slim wood casings for both, have them painted in accordance of their color to coordinate the colors.
Red and black casing for the Akiha stick, blue and black for the Shiki stick.
I'll also get Tsukihime manga art scanned for the bottom of the controller casing. but since manga pages are colorless, I'll tell the craftman to tint the art scan/print the color of the buttons.
Red for the Akiha.
Dark blue for the Shiki.
Once i'm done pimping out my sticks with the manga bottom art, the painted wood casings, etc, I'll repost how they look like once maximized to full glory. Now they are just 50% pimped.
I'll probably sell both for a really reasonable price a couple of years from now.
