Man, good shit to everyone that made it out to evo to represent. Got a few people to watch the finals with me, but since they were in World Cup mode they cheered for Kusa just because he's hispanic. And because he was bustin' dat ass. Seemed like it was mucho hype. I need to stop being an idiot and find the time to get into the scene, it seems like there are many good times to be had. Props to all you guys for keeping this shit going strong...

Okay woah wtf, perhaps playtime can unlock characters or something as I was playing for about 8 hours straight today in various modes (that weren't Arcade) and took a break. When I turned it back on everyone (besides Archetype Earth) was unlocked. wat

Damn, I played for a pretty long time and didn't get everything unlocked...but I must say:

Yukiko colored Akiha? I shat brix. I don't think I'll ever pick a different color D:

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: I wish melty would use filters
« on: July 27, 2009, 12:28:19 PM »
A lot of people who play 2D fighters actually like that pixely look (as you can see from most of the responses, I guess). Personally, I wouldn't mind some filters. I mean, side-by-side in stills, the difference is minimal, and all it really does is smudge the original, but don't think it'd look so bad in motion. Options are always good, though, so I wouldn't mind  :slowpoke:

I don't know if things changed since I last played online about 2 or 3 days ago, but I saw a shitton of Jins, way more than Noel. The good ones did good, and the bad ones (most) just spammed icening rides and C mash. Noel would probably be a close 2nd though, and all the bad ones do is spam chain revolver moves.

I play Noel though, so if I ever run into someone spamming drive moves with Noel or icecar with Jin I just fight scrub with scrub and spam chain revolver myself  :psyduck:

Also, Mike Z's tager strategy almost made me want to play Tager for REAL soviet damage. Almost.

So...how's that 360 pad working out for ya? From my experiences with it...I've found it to be quite the pain in the ass. I'm actually currently working on converting to stick full-time, since I had no choice but to go stick on 360 games due to that sad d-pad.

So far, I've found success on games that I've picked up and only played with stick (BlazBlue, TvC, SF4, you know, new games), but I can't knock that feeling in the back of my head while playing games like MBAC that the stick is some kind of a weakness for me atm.

my config, btw:
X=A
Y=B
B=C
A=D
LB=A+D
RB=A+B
RT=A+B+C

I actually play on a ps2 bad, but the layout is the same...

Shit, wat, Ryougi Shiki is in? And just like that I give a fuck again.

I think my allegiance goes only as far as clicking the first one on the list. Typically I go in, ctrl+f what I was looking for, and if I find the information in that FAQ suitable I stick with it, if there's ever anything I can't find I move on to the next one.

The only time I can recall actually seeking out a specific member's guide was when I played a few games of a particular series (phoenix wright, to be precise), I had grown accustomed to one guy's style of organization in the FAQs, so I sought his guide out for whatever game of the series I played that he had written a FAQ for.

You goddamn bastard, you come to the country and not let me know to hook up and hit ourselves some Melty? :P

lmao, the more you know...there's always next time :P

I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of becoming accustomed to whatever it is you're using. I've been playing all sorts of fighting games (or any other type of games, for that matter) on a pad for years, and I pretty much have no problem going for hours on end with no aches.

I recently took a visit to my grandparents over in the Dominican Republic, I brought over a PS2 and a bunch of fighting games. Seeing how they never play games, within a few minutes my cousins and the guys over there were complaining about how they couldn't play anymore due to their hands hurting. :mystery:

Lately I've been trying to get more accustomed to arcade sticks, but I always have that lingering feeling that my input and reactions are not as fast as they would be if I were using a controller. That, and I swear it starts to feel like my hands cramp up after a while. I think with time I'll get used to the stick, I've already seen glimpses of how it can clean up sloppy controller input and just be much better overall for playing these games, but I've got a long way to go..

 :blah: TL;DR: Should be because you're not used to it, though whether you're just better off skipping pads altogether and jumping right to sticks or not is up for debate XD

And you suck for not catching the dripping sarcasm.

hey what that supposed to mean?

I believe this was sarcastic sarcasm, thus it's possibly still up for debate.

Epic indeed. Haven't had much luck running most of the games I tried, save for CvS2 and GGXX, but both ran pretty damn smooth...the only problem would be the fact I had to switch to XP just to get the damn input working  :emo:

Apparently I need to read up on it more, though, as the different dumps and .lst files and BIOS and all that crap are giving me hell.

DMC3SE is <3. Especially playing with Vergil. :O
Vergil was lame. They didn't add any story for him, and you didn't even fight Dante, you just fought a red clone of yourself.

DMC4 owns though.

It's all about Nero.  :V

Devil Bringer is sex. DMC4 was good, though Nero was probably the only reason I liked it so much. I seem to be easily amused and fascinated by the revving sword with all the pretty fire effects.

As for the games, I play tons of shit other than fighting games. Typically I like action/adventure games more (Ninja Gaiden, Prince of Persia, Shadow of the Colossus etc.) and RPGs (Shin Megami Tensei anything). Then there's stuff like Guitar Hero. I'm also a wannabe touhoufag, but judging by the time I've spent on shoot 'em up games I'm not very good at them. Then there's sports games (NOOOOO!) but around these parts you're guaranteed someone to play those with, so fuck it. I buy more games than I have time to play, but I'll play just about anything. I'm supertrash at racing games though, unless it's like...Mario Kart. My blue shell throwing game is ON POINT.

I'm still a 2dfighterfag first and foremost though, and I'm starting to think that the major drawing factor is that

(...) 12 years old are few too none.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: Stick or pad (or keyboard? o.O)?
« on: August 29, 2007, 06:06:02 PM »
I'm much more comfortable with a pad, but I recently invested in a VSHG. It's pretty sexy, actually. I just wish I was more accustomed to it. As is I almost got the hang of it but lots of random shit tends to come out from time to time XD

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: Who plays what?/Played as...
« on: August 07, 2007, 03:48:12 PM »
Back when I first started I was attached to V.Sion and Sion...I stopped playing and somewhere along the line, by the time I started again, I fell in love with Sacchin's beastiness. At this point I'm pretty shitty with most characters as my secondary, but I'm looking to polish either Hisui or Sion (maybe even Aoko) for the role...Satsuki will probably always be my primary though, thus why anyone else is just fine under the steamroller.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
« on: August 07, 2007, 03:27:27 PM »
I'm not sure if it's just odd because it's MBAC, but I can't even COUNT the number of times I have had that happen to me on MBR. The match seems to play back differently and usually it ends with both of them just standing there forever XD. I have no clue what the cause is, but it would happen to me a lot regardless of the character...I don't believe I've run into that problem in MBAC yet though.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: Meltywiki?
« on: August 07, 2007, 09:51:18 AM »
Yeah, I've seen Melty Bread referred to as the "definitive source for all things Melty Blood" on a few occasions, so an up-to-date wiki with at least semi-frequent updates would only help cement that XD.

I'm also not exactly Mr. Strategy, but if there is a need for someone [else] to help with organization and the transferring of information, I'd also be willing to help >:3.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: Meltywiki?
« on: August 06, 2007, 09:16:02 PM »
I think it would be a good idea. If I'm not mistaken, most people looking to get into fighters these days go to some sort of wiki to find their information, and if it was all outdated we'd end up with sum moar epic "L33t Tutoria|z".

I think a more definite streamlined source for up-to-date information would be a good thing.

Akiha's Tea Room / Re: So, what are you guys currently watching?(Anime)
« on: August 05, 2007, 03:11:28 PM »
That I am actually watching, from before:

Claymore
Hayate no Gotoku

of any others from last season, I'll probably try to get around to watching Lagann.

As for new ones I decided to check out:

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
Code-E
Baccano

Zetsubou Sensei is hilarious, Code-E seems just decent, and Baccano only had one episode out, but it was fucking epic. A bit confusing, but for some reason it gave me Pulp Fiction vibes, and I loev me sum Pulp Fiction.

Nice...is that the regular edition? I still have no clue if there's any difference to the limited edition other than the OSTs. I'd know but it just so happens I missed my delivery this morning T_T...
