Yo, folks playing games tomorrow at game junkies?  I should be able to make it and should be bringing a friend (he really hasn't played fighting games that much but is generally interested in them).

good shit to everyone who came out yesterday, hope ya'll keep practicing, if people start playing regularly philly could be a city of beasts

gamejunkie, joybox resurrected?!?!?! only the inevitable march of time will tell  :mystery:

Philly definitely has its fair share of Melty players :)

Pity that (afaik) MBAA isn't in UP anymore, but I'll keep on trying to improve and come to these things; hopefully be okay enough at the game to not do terribly at NECXII (though I can't be there sunday, which is the day the MB tourney always is :(

Just wondering, when does the gathering at game junkies start?  I'm going to try and see if I can come to some.  Anyone have a link to the address?

Matchmaking ability would be GODLIKE!  Not having to deal with ip addresses, and hopefully not hamachi would make this such a much more comfortable experience :laffo: >:D

Does Yukinose still play?  I haven't found anything recent from him, and a random combo vid of his is what ended up making me start playing the game for the first time (ironically, re-act).

Is there a way to - HEAT somebody?  >:(
Yes there is.

You do know that for a huge of the USA there is no scene for this game for miles and miles right?  I live in the middle of no where, for me and for many others decent netplay is the only way to actually play people?  Even if you do start building a scene from scratch you've got a bunch of guys who all have no idea how to play.  If I didn't go to college in a major city with an actual scene I'd have given up years ago on the game (though ironically I did for a wildly different reason).

Yeah we all agree laptop tournaments suck but in this day and age ps2 tournaments suck too.  My only ps2 stick is a ghetto mayflash, I left my ps2 in storage at college this summer and I'm fairly sure I'm done with the damn thing once and for all.  For better or for worse, MBAACC 1.07 is going to be out on a current-gen system, the PC, which is a largely untapped crowd for MB in the last couple of years and is the only system for a number of regions of the world.

I think I should be able to make it on Saturday at least :)  They don't let us out of here on Sundays :(

Is the MBAA singles tournament going to be on Sunday like at NEC?  As it is I think I'll just watch the team games Saturday, but if for whatever reason they decide to have singles Saturday I'd register.

Well... I'm back (after a hectic period of school and winter break).  I'd be very interested in any gatherings going on, for MBAA, or BB (which I've started playing recently).

Normally I can only really get out of here on Saturdays, but next week's a weekend break so I can go out on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

lmao, I used to walk by that place bout every day, you live pretty much across the street from lord knight

but yeah, I'm down for casuals anywhere, January is definitely better as well and I could probably bring a crt + ps2 to whatever we do

Dude really?  That's pretty awesome

I'd be up for some casual games, though I'll be back home for most of January for Christmas break

Yo, been a while (like a year, lol).

I'm now attending college in Philly, was wondering who here was from Philly again.  As to why I wasn't at NECXI... well basically my choir director decided to schedule ours the same weekend (grrr... freaking annoying).

Was kind of wanting to play some MBAA again with people (though I'll really only be able to play on Saturdays, since that's the only time I can really go out), and my only means of transportation is public transit.

My main problem is still getting that 2C right after the 5C 5C.  I'm still working on the combo that I believe I originally posted, which doesn't have any 2A whiffs.

I've gotten it right a few times, but not often.

To any players from MBread in central PA/Harrisburg area (already know there shouldn't be other than the ones about to be mentioned), Phauxe and Chaser are going to be probably holding a gathering Thursday, with myself and some other new people :)

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: MBAA Tiers
« on: December 07, 2009, 10:54:56 PM »
Here's the latest tier list with the expanded C tier (I listed out all the characters instead of being lazy like the original one that just put them in "everyone else"). Hopefully I didn't forget or double anyone. I'll assume they didn't mean for there to be any order within the tiers themselves.

S: H-Kohaku H-VSion H-Shiki C-Mech

A+: F-Maids C-Kohaku C-Shiki C/F-Miyako H/F-Nero

A: C-Nanaya C-Warc F-Arc F-Aoko F-VAkiha C-Nero F-Shiki F-Kohaku C-Maids

B: C/H/F-Akiha F-WLen F-Kouma C/H-Hisui C-Ciel F-Ries H/F-Mech H-Miyako H/F-Nanaya H-Maids F-VSion C-Wara H-Sion H-Satsuki H-VAkiha H-Roa C/H-Aoko H-Len C/H-Arc H/F-Warc

C: C/F-Roa C/F-Len C/F-Sion C-Vakiha C/F-Satsuki C/H-Kouma F-Hisui H/F-Ciel C/H-Ries C-Vsion C/H-Wlen H/F-Wara C/H/F Neco

Is this still the latest tier list?  I'd heard that WLen is higher now.

This is just out of curiosity though; I'll stick to Akiha through thick and thin :)

You know, I was talking to a spectator of the final matches, who doesn't even play MB, who said that the hype for Melty was better than he'd seen for other games at Evo and other tourneys :)

I was constantly on the verge of betting on LK, never quite reached that point; now I wish I had...

gambling is one of the seven deadly sins i heard

Belegorm you're going to hell!  I saw you all day on Sunday at the venue so that means you didn't go to church.

lol, the seven Capital Sins are Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Envy, Anger, Pride, and Sloth.  I'm Roman Catholic; we believe that a little gambling is fine (how many churches would close if there was no bingo?), but too much is wrong.

Additionally, another thing about being Catholic is that going to Mass on Saturday fulfills the Sunday obligation; so I decided to miss part of the MBAA doubles to go to Mass Saturday evening.

Of course, I know you guys are joking, but I decided to go with it :)

Thanks for the help guys, I've been working on it and will work on it more.  Actually, I think BE5B->4C does work on its own (easier than 2C->BE5B->4C, which I was working on), I think I learn the combo up to that point though (doing the whole thing up to that will probably help).

I'll get back to it, and try again; hopefully soon I'll be able to do better soon that I did this weekend, I need practice.

Edit: darn it, I had a nice post lined up, internet dc'd though and I lost it  :emo:

I'll cut to the chase: I've been working on it, got it right a few times, don't know the exact timing of it but I'll eventually get it.

Press, the vid you posted is a slightly different combo than the one I've been working on (though for the part I'm having difficulty on it's either the same or similar).  Which combo is easier to do?

I'm currently working on learning 2AA 6C 4C 2B 2C 5C 5C 2C BE5B 4C 63214A

Can anyone post a link to a vid of it?  I keep on having trouble getting in the 2C after the second 5C; generally she's over Akiha's head by the point I throw in the 2C.

If it weren't for that, I think I could learn the whole thing in no time; though getting the second 5C is hard as well (though not as hard as getting a sweep to connect when they're over your head; I've tried putting it in quickly, am I supposed to wait till she's lower, and she won't tech?).

Edit: Also, is BE5B 5b charged, or is it 5b charged followed by the second 5b? (I think another way of putting it is [5b ]b, may be wrong).  I tried doing just the first 5b, but can't get 4C in at all, so I'm assuming it's both hits, then 4C unless someone tells me otherwise (though with the other, more major problem I can't do the whole darn combo at all).

Really awesome time.

Lot of hype in finals.  Had to stand on a chair to see, there were so many people!

Best of all I finally found people playing Melty in my area :)

24
Not too much longer now :)

Ok, I need to order my bus tickets soon.  What time would be the latest I need to arrive on Friday? (don't want to be late).

Aviators, as a couple of others have done, could you post the price and PM other relevant info now?  Would also help to know what time we're supposed to be out of the room as well, so I can figure out what time to leave by.

Anyone know what time the tournaments end on Saturday, end on Sunday?  I'm religious you know; a couple good Catholic churches with a 20 minute walk away.

25

Oh, yes I most certainly am

Since I am definitely getting a second room now, I will probably have the space. At max I will be able to fit 6 people in each, so I have some leeway as of right now

To everyone rooming/thinking of rooming with me, I'll shoot you all PMs on how the rooms will managed, prices, and who will be in each room(although the last one shouldn't matter, they will be joined lol)

Can you give us any idea of when those PM's are coming?
