OK, let's try this. I posted on Twitter a few days ago about doing a $20 high stakes tournament, we'd need just 1 laptop (provided by Motoh or St1ckbug) and at least 8 people. I want to cap it at 16. Standard 2/3 Double elimination format, 3/5 W/L/Grand Finals. If we somehow hit 16 it'll be run on 2 laptops. Only rule is if we are running an older version of the game, no going back to your planet with C/H Hime.

Location: Copabanana, at 40th and Spruce Street, right by UP (if you've been there before).
Time: Try to be there by 8 pm.

If you can post and let me know whether you're entering or not, let me know! We have 6 people right now, just need 2 more for the event.

Wait, if you're not running Melty Blood, then who i....

welp

Honestly, the most important thing to have is good monitors. Laptop setups are bad to play on specifically because of the display lag on laptop displays is somewhere between bad and horrific.

lol

well this is kind of cool

lets go to next level then?

if we coordinate with a TSB event, mb would easily have the most entrants...

EDIT: plus, tbh, NL is easier to get to for people south of new york, i dunno about new england guys though

The game's dead. It doesn't deserve better, honestly.

It's uncompetitive. Sion is still Sion (better in all aspects than all other characters simultaneously and significantly) and the very very few other somewhat playable characters have the same horrible gameplay problem where they have some superior aspect that means they don't have to interact with what the opponent is/can do at all. They just do it and wait until they win the round and repeat.

There's just no human interaction in melty blood. The game engine doing odd shit like connecting normals that are facing in the wrong direction and don't have a hitbox on the character or behind doesn't help. The unexplainable full-screen normal connects that can't be fathomed with frame data don't help.
("main character hacks" since these problems are mostly associated with and favor sion)

Starting over with under night after birth is a good call. This time they don't have a special original-character-do-not-steal mary sue to be tempted to ruin their game with like Sion which is good. They need to ditch the melty blood game engine too, no doubt.

With a new rendition people pick up their favorite characters again, and that makes it great for a while-- before long we're no better off than we were in MBAC watching only sion mirrors (or rather not watching them and instead playing better games). It's the melty curse.

They've refined a lot of interesting ideas (especially with actress again) and under night after birth has that to draw from. Looking forward to it.

Playing every fucking thing is for casuals..
This is a joke, right?

sion is sion? wtf does that mean?

in other news, curbeh is going in this weekend

also, the game is already bare bones translated right (for our purposes at least), so it'd be filing in stuff like arcade mode translations and win quotes?

15
like i said on DL, you should leave MB in until after GODSGARDEN

16
13-14 hours at least, and then however long you want to do a preshow or whatever.

It's a long event.

Fox said on twitter yesterday that he's just waiting for a date from them, so it looks like he did the ground work

It's all your Shin.

Please vote for me when the player vote list comes out - I'm going to Japan to play in the tournament.

Whoever has replays, can I get the Beno vs Greats matches? thanks.
I'm not sure who has the replays, there was a bunch of different laptops there that should have had replay saving.  I don't recommend watching my matches though lol... the laptops all had different lag from what I was used to so I couldn't do any combos : (

@Zar / Roku - Fuck you, maybe you would have the right to complain about how the tournament was ran if you were actually there.  How about some congratulations or something next time?

i couldnt hear them over their choking on da p0n0s

this match is not that bad, you just need exp

you cant win air to air if you're level with him, just block

he's also really hard to aa cause he can do falling katto

basicially you want to try to tag his jB with 2c. this loses to jC and katto

shield works too

also, dash 5a > 5b to catch him jumping in neutral. watch out for dash 2b. whatever your first hit is, if it is CH, go for the absolute highest damage confirm you can since his defense sucks at the start of his life bar

practice the PS2 midscreen command grab combo on him and nero, its not that hard and does like 3.5k instead of 2000

jC > jB kamone works on him, jAB works too

once you're in just run train and watch out for heat, its big and fast

Oh yeah, on another note we'd try to get to Philly by 7AM at the earliest.

Worst comes to worse I'll just go to ABE anyways, park there and worry about how to deal with it when I come back.

OK, I know this is last minute, but is there anyone from Philly that can help me and Tonberry out tomorrow morning? We need a ride to Allentown airport, it's 40~ min away from Philly. I would just park there but our return flight is to Philly, so we'd have no way back to Allentown. Please post here or text/call  609-516-8006
