Hey, the the "lain" that was there yesterday is named, Lane. Just wanted to point that out since theres a guy named Lain that plays this also. Also, it really nice meeting Curbeh, jimmy, I think thats what you told me your name was. You just told me it in a low voice. (f-arc), doomiej, and butters.
really fun game, good break from SF.

Also, I played H-ryougi :D

Yup, it does...I love the air dash addition  :toot:

I just wanted to know because of one not having the knife, and the other being much easier. So, If I wanted guaranteed damage I could go for that if I wasn't in worry for meter. I guess I'll practice the timing for the first one.

2A 5BB 2B 5C 2C 22A > 2C 3C 5C 5BB > j.B j.C > dj.B j.C > 236b

does this combo work on the whole cast?

2a 2b 5b 5c 3c 2c 22a j.bc ad j.c dj.bc air throw

2A 5BB 2B 5C 2C 6AAA > j.B j.C > dj.B j.C > 236B

anyone know how much meter you gain from both of these combos? Would like to compare.

yaaah, I gotta practice that genei jin thingy. I actually do it better midscreen  ???

Also, yah I 623B up close didn't seem like a good idea :D As far as knives go, is it good to blow during blockstrings or should I just keep them at hand for scoring CHs?

my bad I meant the overhead part in the rekkas, and the sweep.

Also, yah, Lord, I guess its either that corner combo or the one that goes into an air combo.

2a2b2c5c j.a~b~~c dj.[c]214a land j.bc sdj.bc airthrow

for this combo what does the [c] mean? I'd guess charge, but you can't charge an a version of a move.  :slowpoke:

for her rekkas is their anything really useful there? I mean some of these look mediocre when tied in between blockstrings. Also, are there any real uses for 623 A/b/C? Long range punisher? Is their even anything to punish from afar in this game? lol Do you guys know how safe it is on block though?

Also, corner combos? I see various ones listed, which are recommended? I notice instead of going into air combos for some you can start mixups.

Rei, I live by the bethesda metro station. However, I metioned I could go there just so I could be closer to Germantown, which was where that other guy is at. I dunno what time things start for Rayza's friday sessions, but if its easier I could take the metro to a stop that's close by if that makes things easier since fridays I take the metro home anyways.

Hey, curbeh how far are you willing to pick people up from? Like if you are willing to come pick me up from the silver spring metro station I could meet yah there sometime. I need to start playing peeps at this game. The last time I played someone in melty was back when I played blitzkampf  lol

Charged 5c doesn't have a followup. However it does set you up for oki. I'm not sure about the other two because I don't use those combos.

I just learn the ones on the wiki for characters, which ones do you recommend then?

63214C (8 6 8 6 8 4)

for this what's the timing like for the moves in the parenthesis? Like the most I've gotten to was 8 6 because I usually do the 6 too early. Like do I just press the direction immediately after I see the hit for each? Or is their a certain height they have to be at for each rep or whatever.

Also, any follow ups for charged 5c? Dumb question most likely.

2A 5BB 2B 5C 2C 6C > j.B > air dash > j.B dj.B dj.C > 236C

for this combo do I just press Forward AB for the air dash. Like do they have to be at a certain height or something?

Question, are the knives effective at fishing counter hits while grounded against aerial opponents? Like in training mode I could get dash up anti air 5b --> air combo. Just wondering cuz that's the only use I've gotten from knives besides combos. Why do you use them during pressure strings, btw?  ???

Anyone interested in doing something at the upcoming C3? No one gives a shit about SFIV around these parts, but they still enter at C3. Maybe if theres a set up we can steal some jab fighter players since everyone is waiting to see how bad/good SSFIV is going to be at this point. At the most all I have is a laptop that can run it, which isn't much. Let me know!

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: No plans for a pc port?
« on: August 25, 2009, 07:54:55 PM »
I'd be pretty bummed if there isn't eventually a PC port. Even if I somehow were able to find a handful of people willing to play the game, if I were to decide to enter a tournament I'd be at a severe disadvantage because of my lack of matchup experience. Netplay would at least allow people practice for the game as a whole. Not to mention like it or not, for some it's the most practical option.

Not everyone's priorities have video game tourneys at the top of the list.. so driving two hours to play casuals is not something most would consider a good idea. It is a shame that people aren't willing to come out to gatherings when they have access to the subway like in NYC. Except for those without a car/not willing to spend gas/time to travel to play games it's asking too much.

I'm under the situation where the only tourneys that are held for games are in a complete different state, which is not accessible to someone like me without a car. Also, most worthy gatherings are done in Baltimore, which I can't access via metro. Plus, my college classes end at times where I would arrive pretty late at the gatherings anyways, not to mention I'd catch rush hour traffic...

This is just an example of someones situation, and why they choose not to waste their time traveling for gaming. Many of you are blessed with living in areas with thriving fighting game communities with at least one decent arcade, and you have the audacity to tell people that they have to travel in order to play casuals....

That's not to say that you don't obviously bring up good points, but this is really a pointless debate since it might be that netplay could have fractured a community, but what does that say about the game itself? Doesn't sound like it makes much of an impression on most. That doesn't mean it's a bad game. It's just when people weigh their options. It seems they rather settle with enjoying casual games online, even with shitty delay, and all that.

Plus, I'm being a realist here...SFIV people are not gonna play this game, period. You aren't going to get many people to play this, and come out for it, anyways. Cuz frankly....America is about SF and Tekken, and that's life. I mean I'm not pleased about that, but what can I do about it? lol

I mean it's what I currently do for 3s (GGPO) since I'm not gonna take the chinatown bus to NYC just to play people on a cab with HAPP parts  :slowpoke: (I actually have lol)
