Well now. That is a stunner.

Arcades are pretty damn dead around here, so I really have not too many people to play Melty with at all. Thus, compared to you folks I suck ass.

Could improve if I had people to play with though and began taking it a little more seriously. :P

Don't automatically assume you'll do poorly, it's still a new game relatively speaking.  I'm just learning it myself but I've been playing fighters longer than the others, so lately I've been winning more often than not despite not knowing a lot of tricks and character specific stuff.  But the more people we have playing, the more we'll all learn.

In any case we're more laid back about winning/losing than some of the SF4 players we have in Buffalo.  Most of them are really cool people though don't get me wrong, so if you play that as well there's a MUCH larger community to play with.  But for Melty your best bet is gonna be Saturdays, I'll get Celestein to give you the details.

Didn't know Buffalo had a small MB scene, we have a few over here in Rochester as well :) Should get that onto the list for the next Rumble  :toot:

How many people did you guys end up having?

If you're hosting another one around the Christmas holidays, I'd like to join in the fray.

Which version of MBAC is it btw. Noticed on the post it said the place was an arcade. What version of the cabinet are you guys running, or is the PC version gonna be used. Uh, I don't play many other games too well haha.

how many people do you ussually get for the tournaments anyways? such a shame the roch-toronto ferry is down for good, turned a 75 min trip to a 2 hour 45 min drive. =(

once we clean up the room we can prob house 2-3 people lol, would have to ask comic frst. There's a local tourney today, but the play lvl is like at a very very fledgling lvl. and I'm slowly transisting to stick >.> But if you plan on coming up with a few people, let me or comic know, and we'll see what we can do.

OOooooo sticker, me want LOL

If you have parking i'll drive haha, but i won't be back till the 17th of November. And yea dippy walks into Sacchin's arc drive too much too haha. KDJ lives near boston too in Newton... His school not that far off either. IM me on aim if you want his contact. I'm probably hopping onto the SSBB wagon on dec 3rd though =x.

Lol, I just read this thread xD

@KDJ: i lost the calendar already LOL

technically, I dunno about netplay. I hated the lag. Didn't play too much on it. And i pretty much ditched netplay completely after i found out i couldn't jump cancel satsuki's 214a. most of my MB experience came from training mode and playing against one very annoying akiha which is my friend Comic-Z cuz he's like the only MB player on campus xD. Other than that I watch vids 24/7 xD

I seriously don't reccomend getting experience off netplay, that lag and low frame rate stuff really fudges with your timing.

EDIT:

KDJ, Dippy

you guys have AIM or MSN?

And when is the web2zone tourney anyways, the one in june. If the time is convenient, I won't mind driving if you guys can cover my food and entry fee :D

Yea, I can't play MBAC right now since my swap magic died on me ><. I was playing 3s last night and messed up alot of 623 inputs and ate shin shoryuken's for it =(

My immediate reaction was like, >< crap gotta get use to this fast since my main is satsuki in mbac... and wats satsuki without 623 lol...

And yea, stick is square based. Sanwa jlf with seimitsu buttons.

Here it is!

Just started to convert from pad -> stick. Any suggestions on holding it? I can't really find anything too comfortable yet but I've been cupping it between my 3rd and 4th finger for most of the time right now.

the amtrack that goes from NYC to Rochester for 40-50 bucks I think, I have a friend that rides it pretty often. And once you guys land in rochester, I wouldn't mind picking anyone up from the train station as long as I get some prior notice xD. However, my car is small. It's a honda civic hatchback, so yea... Me and Comic-Z won't be in rochester over the summer though, but when fall starts and anyone wants to come and needs a ride from the train station or a place to stay, drop a msg to me or Comic-Z on the irc channel and we'll see what we can work out xD.

google maps says 5 hour 38 min drive from nyc to roch, but i ussually subtract an hour of what they tell you cause they assume you drive the speed limit lol

Hi, I'm Rorec

I'm a 19yr old male from Beverly, MA. I'm currently a 1st year compsci major attending school at RIT in Rochester, NY. I started playing MBAC in January '07. I mostly play with my friend Comic-Z. I finally picked the game up 3 months after him telling me to get the game. I got bored one night, did a little isohunting and got the game. I switched over to final tune for a little bit and played with the srm folks for a while for a change in scenery and to look for other opponents. It gets to you really bad playing against the same person and the same char 3-4 hours at a time xD. I'll just leave some info about me below:

Main: Satsuki
Location: Rochester, NY( School year), Beverly, MA(summer)
AIM: ImperishableNite
MSN: Rorec.X@gmail.com
I do have car, so if you're not TOO far away, I'd love to get together and play some MBAC, I really love the game, and love meeting new people.
Some of my other interests include RPG's(no more mmo's, those take up way too much time), anime, and building computers.
Other games I play:
Initial D Arcade Stage 3
3rd Strike(recently started)
GGXX#slash(really bad at it)
Audition Online

Hi to everyone and one last mention...
I can't play stick to save my life at the present time  :'(
