I was stuck playing casuals at akiba with Mike last week and ended up watching a fair amount of AA for the first time really since it hit.

That said, which ever version of Aoko that has the helicopter aircombos into ex orb into either another aircombo or reset into unblockable, that shit is broken. The bnb does respectable damage in it's own right, and then full charged beam for free(unavoidable I think? I didn't see any one shield it) is just too good. Her new power wave-like move is also top tier.

All in all, AA seems really broken right now, but also seems like it has the potential to diversify Melty gameplay in ways that could make it appeal to way more people. It kind of plays like what I imagine Guilty Gear Alpha 3 would play like, with the isms totally changing your characters and every thing.

So is it official? Team Bloody Tuna Melt isn't making it to Japan?

It's all about the bubz these days for me. If it's not deliciously flat, fuck that.

Yeah, the bit towards Cali was because I misunderstood who Clear Sky was. When he said one of the scrubs "here" I thought he was referring to Cali, and thusly I made the previous statement. The only reason I made said statement was because Clear Sky said that random scrubs could beat me, so obviously I have to defend my self in a situation like that, right?

Any way, I have nothing against any of you guys, except for random people like Clear who love to get up in my face, and as has been said, comments were aimed at helping the satsukis involved in this whole fiasco. You guys should have a rematch though, so we can see the progress.

yeah, but the interpreter is wierd and doesn't ned a neutral in there so if you just hit [9]6 then you should get it. I guess there is the posibility of me rolling up to 9 from 6 subconciously or something ?? I guess, but I do that, I do it in every other game too because I input it the same as my GG/MB iad, but slower.

I'm just tired of getting randomly hated on by some stupid Canadian.

Chibi: I do it the normal 96, just like evry other game, just the timing is way more deliberate/slow.

Yeah, IAD in arcana is way off form like, anyother game. I understand if you have trouble with it, as I did for a bit too, until I figured it out. I just have to do it really deliberately and slowlike and it comes out all the time.As for me playing more than you, that is debateable. I've probably put about 500-1000en only into the game, so I really haven't played all that much, the combos are just very easy/free in my opinion, comming from games like Melty and GG.

I'll MM EC people too, I don't care. The point I was trying to make is that I am confident enough to think I could beat any one in Cali to 10 matches. I don't have the same kind of confidence with Zar/Sp00k/Vet, but I would still be up for some do-or-die stuff vs them :P I think I'm gonna be playing a lot of GG MM's though trying to get my name out though. Jam is slowly encroaching into the place in my heart for the delicous flat chest.

I was just trying to help, it's not like I said they were hopeless or anything. I guess the best way to describe what I'm trying to say about those satsukis is that, sure, you guys are playing melty. Sure, you are getting into your combos. You aren't playing your characters though, and that's what will help you almost as much as being able to do a BnB. Then again, the only way to really learn that stuff is through sheer play. You can't learn how to pressure consistantly by watching match vids or in training mode, you can only learn that shit in the arcade(or basement, in the case of America, lolz).

tl;dr peeps: Satsuki is a rushdown character. Rush that shit down.

2c5c623b5b623c2c5c jump airthrow is the combo you should be aiming for.

Are you sure about that? I've only watched the first match and it seems like they were doing the right combos. If only they didn't drop em' so much, which I don't blame them at all for. As for the combo you listed, are you also sure about that as well? There's already discussion about that combo not being as good as the 214C wallslam one since it doesn't scale so bad like 632C.

And no offense to you, but a quite a few of your posts come off like your bash us here, it's kinda of been pissing me off lately. Honestly, I don't think anyone here needs a reality check because everyone here is on the same page. We all know how bad the scene is here and what the skill level is at, and honestly right now that can't be helped in the short run, so I don't find your constant jabs at us amusing. Just because your in Japan doesn't mean shit. Reading your posts, I doubt that you have the kind of drive or intellect to take advantage of that kind of learning environment, so I'm willing to bet that you fucking suck too, or at least enough to lose to scrubs here. I barely play this game and had human competition for it, and that's how confident I am about your skill level. Maybe I'm dead wrong about everything, but I'm willing to bet it, so how about it? Since your saying that your going to EVO world, I'm willing to money match you for $50 USD.

Sure I'll MM you at Evo, I already said I would play any Cali guy that wanted to. I don't get it though, I give my thoughts on the matches, freaking sugar coat it, and still get yelled at. What should I have said? Awesome MM dudez, keep up the good work? If you didn't want feedback, the vid shouldn't have been posted, lol.

As for the combo, who cares if there is a better one. The one I transcribed is the *easiest* acceptable bnb for her. It's kind of the combo they were going for, but wth a little randomness sprinkled around.

In any case, I find the personal attack a bit harsh. You can think what you want though, just like I'll think what I want. I'm not going to lie, I get a good lol out of the fact that Chibi can't do fiona's bnb. Posts like yours just add more lols to the pile. If theres some random scrub in Cali that wants to help with my gas money, I will be more than willing to accept the help.

I don't even know where to begin with this >.< You guys need to learn your full BNBs lol. That, and neither of you are abusing satsuki's really aggressive stuff. Needs more sj/iad jc, and 2c(1hit)5a. 214a jump cancel is decent, but that isn't what makes satsuki oppressive, you just need to constantly be riding your opponent's face trying to hit a combo of a crossup jc or an empty > low. Can't stress enough how important the airthrow is at the end of your combos is though guys. Can't reset your pressure if you can't thit that shit :/

I'll MM any one from Cali at Evo :D

Akiha's Tea Room / Re: Fuck EFNet, let's migrate to something better
« on: April 26, 2007, 02:39:15 PM »
Flow of people into the channel is a trivial issue. Running four other fighting game channels on Mizuumi has taught me that people will go to a channel when they know about it, not because they look through /list (and if you can't be arsed to do it on a server with < 30 channels, why the fuck would you do it on EFNet?)

All of the FG channels in question on EFNet are flagged as secret/private, so they would never come up in a /list anyway. That is a non-issue.

Also, moving channels from one obscure network to another obscure network is not the same as moving a channel from a large public network (like EFNet or DALNet or Undernet) to a small private server. If you honestly believe that #mbac would be as big as it is now if it was on your server or some other obscure network than I will just have to disagree with you on that.

Quote
Using an EFNet server that sucks less has nothing to do with it. EFNet's shittiness goes beyond its instability.

We don't need to go into EFNet's issues (as I know both of us and several other people posting in this thread know about them), but it is not like every other small network performs better (lol Pyoko). On top of that, I have issues with running a channel on a server where one of the principle operators is also the server admin, as this can create a lot of problems that would not occur on a public server where the people running it just do not give a shit.

Quote
Though with all your passive aggressive bullshit and general negativity it'd do everyone a favor if I did get rid of you. :V

I doubt that most people would agree with this assessment (that the community would be better off without me -- I'm not going to deny the passive-aggressive nature or the general negativity, as that would just be retarded).

1. You contradict yourself by pointing out that all FG chans on EFNet are +ps. First you say that moving it will decrease the flow of people in the channel, then you point out how nobody can find the channel to begin with because it doesn't show up in /list or /whois. Exactly how is this any better than just having the chan on another net entirely?

2. Chan size is largely irrelevant. Half the people there in #MBAC now don't play the game. When have you ever cared about the size of the MB fandom? Aren't you the one always pointing out how nobody plays this game? Why are you so suddenly hung up over the size of the chan and "flow of people"? You're coming up with weak excuses.

3. Pyoko has been stable lately. Far more stable than Espernet, actually. And as far as your perceived "conflict of interest" goes, how is it any different than Arlieth running Meltybread.com and also being a person with vested interest in the game? What's stopping him from taking the site in his own direction? How is running a chan on a network where people don't care somehow better than running it on a net hosted by someone who actually plays the game?

4. You have no idea how much people put up with you, Dippy, and if you do have an inkling of what sort of things have been said about you, you should be glad that people like Chibi are still around to back you up.

I'll end my side of the discussion now before this goes too far. At the end of the day, I don't care where the chan is hosted so as long as it's not EFNet, and I will point out that Sorcery, Esper, and Rizon are all somewhat unstable as far as public networks go. So as long as there's a functioning Chanserv and Nickserv I'll be fine with whatever choice people go with.

At least Dippy has a somewhat decent grasp of the game. That's more than you can say for a lot of random ass people that have come into the community recently. Not that there is anything wrong with new blood, I just don't see the point of hating on Dippy. Dippy hates on Dippy enough for everyone.

As for moving the channel, I am against it, but only because I am so lazy that I don't feel like changing my settings for the 1 server I log onto IRC for, just because some people want longer nicks.

I moved to Japan to "study Japanese".

I find the best place to learn the language tends to be in a dim, smokefilled arcade down by the trainstation. Yeah, my Akiha is getting pretty pera pera if you know what I mean.

but yeah, I think by far the stupidest thing I have ever done in Melty, is probably trying to air throw a ground person. You just cn't do that shit.

I like me the classic rock mostly, but being a sax/piano player I have a week spot for jazz and the classics too. Also, of late, being in Japan is starting to get to me, and I found my self buying the newest Yui CD last week. She's just too cute.

I already said this to Choco in the irc chan, but for all of the Miyako players out there that don't sit in the irc room here you go.

Dear Arizona Miyako Player,

Don't use 6c it sucks.

Sincerely,
linalys

that's like telling some newbie Akiha never to hit 2c5c

He's right, 6C sucks. You lose your options to tech punish and maybe oki pressure.

What's wrong with 2C5C? o_o

Edit: BTW, nice video edit you guys made. The crowd chatter is pretty funny. How'd you guys keep it in?

I'm pretty sure 6c is in her biggest and badestassest combos, but I guess I might be wrong.

The damage air combo is 5bb j.c air dash j.c jc j.c j.b air throw. The only time I do that combo is on cornered opponents though. Consistancy in the harder air variations comes from controlling your neutral sjc out of 5bb closer onto them.

Has any one else delved into the 2c loops in the corner? I can get 1 extra 2c, but I need some help understanding the logic behind going further, and maybe the double wall slam combos. I dunno, this shit is crazy.

Going to sleep now, but I'll edit this with more info about 623b combos and learnign to whiff cancel at some point.

Miyako Arima / Re: Combo/Strats Thread
« on: April 08, 2007, 06:27:53 AM »
As for pressure, make sure to use the two b hits that move you forward. Those are great for staying on your opponent if they happen to block a 2a. The other nifty/top tier strat is using the stomp at the end of your guard strings, because one is fast enough that they can't 2a you out of it and one isn't, so if you train them to think they can 2a out of the string you can nail them with the quick one.

Yeah, I've seen the other two, but I've never seen the cooled down Kouma stage before. I get the street stage in the Akiha vs Hisukoha stage in arcade, and usually fight Arc in the purple one, but I've seenpeople have boss battles vs Warc there too.

I can't really remember playing on them in a vs situation though, maybe certain characters have to be involved or something?

I forgot to mention that some times, at the end of the round I try to do something that ultimately gets beat by sion's jumping b grab, and then I punch Nana in the face. The only move I have found to beat out her jumping b grab, is rl punch to the face.
