Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: PC Current Code Tournament Standard

Both NVIDIA and ATI have a full screen while maintaining aspect ratio option in their driver settings.  With that in mind, it should be standard to run the game at full screen 4:3.

As for USB polling rate, I've always wondered about how much it actually changes.  Cause I've played with and without changing polling rate and I didn't really notice any difference.

Looking like I'll show up at Gamecenter tomorrow too.  Down for some MB/GG/KoFXIII/AE/GvG.

3
And here I'm busy with family, so I can't show up. ; ;

4
Out of town Thurs-Tues, unfortunately. m(_ _)m

I'll definitely make it out to a gathering sometime.  My schedule gets kinda busy though, so no guarantees on when.

It's not that I don't think integration with an existing community is bad, but that's not going to make an arcade get MBAACC if we just go to people's houses and play in tournaments run by the host. I am not excluding you or anyone, but I'm not trying to run gatherings to just enjoy the game and play with friends. I'm doing so to encourage a business to get the game. Integration is good if I just want to play the game; it's not going to move the agenda forward though.

Just wanted to say that we don't run any tourneys in Norcal at people's houses.  NCI has been an ongoing ranbat series for MBAA PS2 that we've been running for over a year at reasonably legit venues like SJSU & DeVry.  I'm sure decent turnout for the most regular MB event in Norcal can help a bit in persuading these arcades in getting MBAACC 1.0x.  Unfortunately, the entrants have been declining and/or stagnating for the last few months.

I would prefer not Sunday, but I can probably do it with enough notice.

I also was discussing amongst some friends and they expressed some dissent on giving newbies unlimited free games.. That's hard to keep track of who is new and some may abuse it.

I think it's pretty obvious who's new and who's not.  Just gauge by how they play & how much they know.

7
I'll try to make it out if this exhibition session happens.  Schedule permitting.

I have my doubts about projectors, but I guess it's not that much to lug around, so it's possible to give it a shot.  Flat screen monitors are probably the best bet cause a big CRT would be too hard to do.  I have a 24" which works great for SD games.  Seems lagless to me.  Unfortunately, all SD video looks terrible on it.  In MBAA, the pixels are hella pronounced.

Sorry for always forgetting to update this thread. Jan's NCI is this Sat.

When: Jan 8, 2011
Where: Devry college in Fremont
How much: $5 entry. Probably $2-3 venue.

I honestly need to check on start time & exact location. We are not in Taylor Hall where we held previous NCIs. Instead, it's in a room on the Devry campus itself. I will update this post later today when I have the info.

Also, get ready to play some Ougon Musou Kyoku!!

I want to go to this, especially since I missed the last AM, but that weekend might conflict w/some plans I have in Feb. I'll have to get back to you.

Yeah, the next NCI is this Sat. Details over @the Dustloop thread.

We also do sessions on weekday evenings, but they're always planned off the boards. You interested?

Also Ivan, check out that Ika Musume? =P

Finals are at the very end of the video sets (after BBCS).

Been kinda busy, so I'm just logging on to FFXIV random evenings & doing leves. Sorry for not checking whether you're on more often. Considering the current lack of content variety & lack of major incentive to party, I don't blame you for quitting. But I'm gonna stick w/it cause I have yet to get anywhere meaningful in the story & I'm kinda enjoying crafting. It also works w/my busy schedule. The game is still really rough around the edges. I'll see it through as they polish it up.

I'm on already.  Also, same name.  Kinda @a friend's place tonight though, so my attention is divided.

Let's try to have a strong showing for the first ranbat of the new season!!

BBCS is going to be a regular part of the NCI ranbats now.  Hopefully things don't get too crowded.  On the bright side, it's an opportunity for our communities to grow through mutual interaction.

Daryl, have you fixed your stick yet?  If not, I can work on it at the ranbat.

I'm on Gyshal. It'll probably be the server my group sticks with into retail. Start in any city. I can teleport between them.

At worst, the number of entries for MBAA over the previous season was around 8 12 players (tsubasa can correct me on this). It's going to be pretty hard getting people now a lot of fools have relocated due to school and other obligations.
maybe 12 to 16 at the worst. definitely never under 12.

Our lowest turnout was 10.  That was in Feb.  But that was our first ranbat and after that, we got 11-17 reliably.

KoF XI isn't KoF.

It may not be, but it sure is fun.

 5 Xie
 5 snozz
 7 Konata Izumi☆ (Bell)
 7 Riotblade
 9 Dakanya

13 tenkai
17 nez

17 Chun
17 Drayne O
17 Dacidbro

25 Rem
25 Spidey

The planned NorCal v SoCal 5v5 exhibition did not happen.  Or more than, like, one MM on the stream.  We ran out of time.  I'm just gonna blame it on BB cause that game takes too long. -.-

It was a good tourney.  Thanks everyone for coming.  Especially those from out of region.  There's a lot of talk about future NCIs right now: what form they'll take and how often they'll be.  So stay tuned for announcements.  Hopefully we can have more events like this one.

Yo Tsubasa, mind if you can roll through with my Luka TE Stick?

Oh yeah, I was planning to.  I've had it for way longer than I should.

24
So I have confirmed that we'll have 3 CRTs & PS2s. People are free to bring more, but it won't be necessary.

Edit:
Tone, this count includes your setup, so please bring it.
