I've got a meeting for a project this Friday (followed by dinner, poker, and drinks) so I'm out. Next week.

Also, Seifuku and Vanilla differences depends on the moon. Iirc, they have similar tools, just with different inputs. Vanilla might have better vitality; not sure on that one.

What if I pick up Hime??

Youtube videos. Yes. Time to watch how trash I am because I haven't played on stick since 4 years because my buttons are broken. Not to mention trying to do MBAC strings with all the returning cast.

If you need someone with low skill-level (atm, anyway), I'm down for netplay, too.

Note to self: I should probably buy new buttons and fix this sucker. Or at least rewire the working ones into the right layout.

3
Don't worry. I haven't played since MBAACC released. And I still unconciously try and do MBAC combos. There are going to be lots of dropped combos and eaten mixups on my part.

4
I'll see if I can stop by this Friday. No guarantees, though, and I'm suuuper rusty. Haven't played seriously since MBAC.

Also, for parking, I dunno if you guys know about the sketchy Megatoys parking lot up the street. It's usually unstaffed in the evening = free parking.

Whoa whoa whoa. We have meetups in LA NOW?!

I never went out to FFA because it was too far. Little Tokyo is so much closer. I didn't know there was an arcade there.

I'll have to try and make it next time. Hope it isn't this Friday, though...cause I'm going out for my Dad's bday.

Shit, didn't know there were players on here. I've been into this since the original DoW2 beta.
Multiplayer isn't that bad once you understand the basic unit roles and phases of the game. After that, it's just positioning and adapting to the battlefield.
I also play TLS every now and then.

I've heard vsync will cause input delay, as will inconsistent framerates. Something to do with multithreading, and emulation getting ahead of rendering. That's why other emulators don't have the same problem. They're not emulating using multiple (synced) cores.

8
FYI, if you hold triangle+cross once the render window comes up, pick the top option twice to use progressive mode. This way, you don't have to use the render plugin's deinterlacer, which makes it look quite pretty (no scanlines or blurriness)

I think most of the speedhack settings should be pretty compatible with this game. Sound might suffer some degrade in quality, but it should be safe to set all the speed hacks.

9
Yeah. Progressive scan is a game option in MBAA. It's like how Guilty Gear had the option when holding the same buttons. FWIW, all computer monitors are basically progressive scan. Only non-HDTV broadcasts are interlaced (and anything that plugged into non-HDTVs, such as pre-HD consoles), with the exception of 1080i. This is why there is a distinction between 480i and 480p, or 1080i and 1080p.
In fact, if you pay attention to the console, it says it switches to 480p mode.

@Masu
This will help with the vibrating. As for slowness turn on some speedhax.

@Sabator
Software mode is inherently slower than hardware mode. If you have multiple cores (read, 3+, although 2 might work) try increasing the number of rendering threads. As for the white boxes, it might have to do with texture filtering, but play around with that 8-bit texture option, too.

If FFA gets this, I'll definitely head out there.

Ack, I wasn't on all weekend on account of E for All.
As such, sabator can advance.

OH YES.
Because I was busy over the weekend doing the Insomnia Film Festival, which has now turned into the Campus MovieFest, but that's not for another week.

I'd play tonight, but I'm pretty tired from catching up from thursday's ditched classes.

I'll try to find and play Sabator tomorrow.

ikusat thinks he's such a beast but he's totally not

you should make a challenge where i have to stuff as many 'pishis' into one combo as is humanly possible

:3
I second this one.

Anyway, time to watch lina's replay...

18
Lol, you know I'd love to come. Especially since the famed lolihunter is there.
But I have to be home for the weekend. Which adds another hour travel time to IF. =/

Not to mention I'm out a job (wtf? how does someone apply faster than a coworker suggestion) and out car insurance. So I'm strapped for cash.

19
Oh hell. The weekend before midterms.
And then there's like a bazillion things happening this weekend+Thursday. Paper, mandatory academy speaker thing, job fair, paper, catalina trip for 20 bux, hanging with old friends for the last time until christmas, another paper....
And then midterms next week.

Bah. Maybe I'll get the next one.
By the way, WT lasts how long?

No exploding people.

But there are plenty injured people, if it at all follows the novel. So I assume there will be blood. Unless the supernatural beings don't bleed blood.

Good point.
In other words, it really doesn't matter if 5A hits, misses or is blocked, you still get your recovery time reduced

Thanks for the tips.
It seems that my skill is not good enough to keep momentum, so I get rushed down a lot. I already use some of these tactics, but I hadn't thought of some of these other ones.

And God knows how many times I've been thrown out of a wakeup EX Flametoungue.  :emo:

Kohaku's Magical Garage / Re: Reverse Beat: Whiff Canceling

It's a linguistics issue.

Whiff is the noun.
Cancel is the verb.

The verb acts on the noun, so cancel the whiff.

It may also be argued that:

Whiff is a verb.
Cancel is a noun.

In this case, the cancel is a whiff.

Generally, in English, the noun comes before the verb, so readers will typically take the former definition rather than the latter.

My suggestion is to call it "Whiffed Cancel." Then there is no confusion as to which word is the verb, which word is the noun.
If you take it as it is in the title, "Whiff Canceling," then it will certainly imply that you are canceling the whiff.
"Whiffing Cancel" is too cumbersome, so I won't suggest it

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: Missing stages on AC?

Boss stages are hacked.

However, if you're asking for stages that aren't in the game outright, then that's a whole other can of worms.
