Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: So where do we go from here?
« on: May 08, 2012, 04:46:03 AM »
Eh
Don't think that a great massive awesome wiki brings players. Cause it doesn't (Well I lied, it brings like one or two).

Game's dead guys. Move on... is what I want to say. But hold on. A game is only truly dead when nobody what's to play that shit anymore. Capcom Fighting Jam is dead. Melty, not so much. Someone just said, it's as dead as you allow it to be. To be honest, we're much better off then when we were playing next to vending machines, or playing in the hall ways of the hotel. If you say you want to run a Melty side tourney, someone will probably hook it up. But I digress.

Now moving on doesn't mean you should all play SFxT now. GG guys didn't stop playing until BB. 3S didn't stop until... well they never stopped.  Play what's out there, go <Rei> have fun.  The last thing any of you guys should be doing is getting wighted down by melty, being "obligated" by some mystic force to play for eternity. When all these other games come out, show your support. When ECOLE new game comes out, play it. Please don't be that guy playing Melty in the corner when everyone else is trying new stuff.

Basically...
What I think makes this community great is that we play every goddamn thing. Play SF4, play Marvel, play BB, play Arcana, Skullgirls. Which is why I am confused as to why we are having this conversation. Where do we need to go? No where, just do like we've been doing.

Ah, even Justice can learn.
Yeah, the start up of a lot of her moves are ugly, but luckily you have a decent amount of duration on a lot of moves. Of of the things to remember with Ries is to get your moves out early. You want to position your self so that your opponent ends up running into  things like JB and counter hitting themselves. You can also use things like 2B when spacing on the ground instead of 5B, since 5B get's popped buy a lot of faster moves.

After corner combos with BE JC, you should be able to add a JB before the last JC into air throw.
Also, I think midscreen 214B into corner combos are worth adding.

Good video though

I don't know if this counts as a bug, but a few days ago I saw a Half moon shield cancel into 2A.  Is that...possible?
Yeah, it's possible. Kusa did a shield cancel into throw at EVO.

Kusa threw a shield attempt.

Just finished describing C-Wara's normals and specials (minus arc drive) on the wiki. I would like someone to check my translations of move names

will add to combos and strategies once i get access to my stick again so i can properly test everything.

Might come in handy

Also check template again for how to do Move names on wiki. Only the jp name is in the 「」

Street Fighter X Tekken? Interesting.
KoF XIII? Even more interesting.

Thats pretty cool, the KoF bros finally get their time in the sun. I hope a lot of people show up for it and it's not just Bala ballin' over everyone.

Now, gonna change the subject. 20$ for entry for games?

I like KoFXIII's chances but looking at everything else.... It may not have a chance (I may, and hopefully am wrong though).
I didn't think of Skull girls... I wonder what would happen to it. If EVO was 6 games it would probably be in over BB, especially with all this recent BB3 talk.

So Evo games will be announced 1/3/12

I assume 5 spots since it worked out super well last EVO. I'm betting:

1: SF4 2012
2: UMvC3
3: Tekken 6 SFxTK
4: Soul Caliber 5
-----                      ------ The above 4 are kind of in the duh category provided they are all 2/1.5 months before EVO... but for the last one:
?: MK9

If there is another game... it would probably be BB or Tekken 6.
Vote? Haha, not making that mistake again, might get a game people actually like in again!

And yes I am looking for an ongoing discussion about how to make EVO better/What to expect this year.

correction

Note though, you don't need to add damage or prorate FOR move descriptions.

Adding all your stuff besides damage and etc is fine, welcome rather.

Good for working on the wiki
Note though, you don't need to add damage or prorate or move descriptions. It would go into any frame data tables for statistics later.

There is a template of break down of each moon style for each character:

http://wiki.mizuumi.net/w/Melty_Blood/Powerd_Ciel/Full_Moon

Would be nice if people didn't stray too far from this.

For the characters that nobody will be going to go in on, I'll be translating stuff in.

Banners will be made courtesy of Chibi. I wanted to add move lists ala the JP MB main page if anyone can edit. Please add suggestions here as well.

Hm, early this time.
Looks like my break won't overlap with it.

I don't think we need to give them so much information...I think if we keep it simple it'd be more effective.
I agree with this, I'm trying to keep my data as simple as possible. I personally am going to be leaving the graphs other data out of my version and use the player registry as a sort of signature.

As for numbers, I have the number of entries for each of the tournaments I listed. NECXI got 51 entries.

Curbeh, PM me an email to send what I have to.

Give everything to Komi, let him compile everything up. There's not enough time for me to be a big part of this besides language conversion.
