I've uploaded the finale to youtube. plan to upload some more maybe tomorrow.

Look for anything that has R1,2,3,4,5 in the title. Those will all be the SBO matches.

Leaving out the details cause I don't want my account to get deleted.

T2390 1.86GHz 2GB DDR2
That crappy Intel integrated video card

This laptop with its crappy specs can still run MBAC just like my desktop. I'm not sure if it really is a vista issue.

Just wondering... Those who have bought the DVD's, is it possible to upload the DVD's, like with the SBO 07 DVD's?
I mean buying it would be an option, but I like to have them in my PC, it's somewhat more safer, lol^^

Well if you buy the DVD and load it into your PC...

Anyways, people will be hesistant to upload the DVDs partly because it's illegal but mostly because that would require time and effort for something that provides nothing in return.

Psst.

They've been going at a rate of about 1 MB release per year.

2008 was AA, 2007 was AC PC, 2006 was AC PS2, 2005 was AC arcade, 2004 was Re-Act, 2003 was the only year without a release, and 2002 was vanilla. So we'll get a home AA release in 2009 probs.

The real question is: console or PC?

Console no doubt :V

just seems noone had mention this mixup...  :psyduck:

It seems like a gimped version of 5B 2B 2C 5C JB(2) JC dj 214C to me.
Damage is extremely poor, meter is used, and there's no position advantage.
Is there any advantage to that combo that I'm not getting?

EDIT:  O, I see :V

Any information about that flashing eye move?

Never seen anyone use the EX version of it in a match.

Good Footage

5300+ damage for a ground combo?  :toot:
Either that or Roa's defense equals V-Akiha's

Few things I thought after watching the video:

-
Back teleport is freakin sweet.

-
I wonder how useful those reppukens will be.
It has about the same startup time as bloodrings but is low on ground and travels really fast, so just looking at the video it seems useless.

-
5(b) is two hits?

-
Reppuken

IAD - Instant Air Dash

Yeah, I meant the 236a/236b after that.
Did you mean landing after the IAD for a 236a/236b?
Or was it a typo for 214a/214b bloodrings while still in air?

17
::IAD 236A
- frame disadvantage on whiff and block?

::IAD 236B
- follow, situational
-...huge disadvantage on read, random (flying j.c...)

IAD - land on ground - 236A/B??
Or did you mean 214A/B while in air.

Akiha's Tea Room / Re: The world didn't end many hours ago, thank god.

do you really think they would of gone ahead with it if they thought there was even a even slightly reasonable chance (.0000000000001% is not reasonable)  of the world ending.  Seriously, I think this is awesome.

Well actually....

The highly publicized hadron collider never had any theoretical chance of ending the world.
However, the shushed nuclear bomb experiments had quite a chance of doing so. One side of scientists mathematically calculated that a nuclear bomb will infinitely chain while one side of scientists mathematically calculated that it won't. Politicians said f*** it we're still doing it, and one side was proven wrong.

Could it be that you mistook a 214b as charge c and 236c finisher as the arc drive?

If not, I would really like to know how a charge c can link into the arc drive also.

5B 2B 2C 5C jc JB(2) JC dj JB(2) JC J2C
Damage on par with the mentioned highest damage combo (11 less damage) sans difficulty and okizeme.

That's one seriously amazing guide there   :o

Edit:  :P I guess that combo was already up there except for the (2). Getting two hits in is, at least I think, easier than pulling off the airdash combos, so I guess it's worth mentioning.

Kohaku's Video Room / Re: FREAKISH Denpa match
« on: July 31, 2008, 08:27:22 PM »
i think this ciel is actually motomachi, or at least i remember hearing that in irc

also, what's with the write-up? while this video is pretty hot, it isn't THAT special. the only highlights I saw were 1. ciel 22c wakeup failing because denpa 4-wayed into airbackdash making motomachi unable to cancel into ex knives or hiero, 2. the infinite, which has been known for a long time and been doable by a lot of japanese players (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HBFu4UEESFk), and 3. ciel 22c wakeup being beaten AGAIN by clash into ex hiero, which isn't that special because on clash, 2a5c should probably be reflex for denpa (esp. vs ciel) and 5a could have very well just been an attempt to poke out. shielding after seeing the superflash isn't exactly the hardest thing in the world either. you could put the fault on motomachi for hieroing instead of going ex knives but i wouldn't just because the odds of hiero working were fairly good, especially if he was expecting just 2a5c, denpa would have gotten comboed.

fun match to watch and was pretty good but nothing completely amazing. just a show of very good execution by denpa. there are a lot of crazier matches out there, even by denpa still.

Hehe
Yeah, I guess I did overhype it  ;D
But,

Denpa makes any match worth hyping about.

Kohaku's Video Room / FREAKISH Denpa match
« on: July 29, 2008, 04:45:32 PM »
http://zoome.jp/game41/diary/77/

A random (not character wise, but teammate wise) 3v3 tournament match.

Pretty uneventful until 10:22 where Denpa comes in.

Short commentary:

10:41  -  FUCK

12:33  -  SHIT

Long commentary:

10:41  -  The Denpa-only infinite combo.

An Akiha-specific Satsuki combo was found quite a months back, it even might be more than a year ago. It actually had practical value and it caught on like Akiha's whiff combo. However, the string was so freaking hard to connect that after a few months, many people gave up on it on basis that the reward vs consequence was too bad to use it in a real match. The reward to connecting that combo is more damage and meter, but failure to do so meant less damage and no okizeme, which is a killer to Satsuki. There are videos of top-class Satsuki players attempting the combo. None of them had more than a 66% success rate of connecting it.

Then here comes Denpa. He adds on another series of attacks that require timing to the string, makes it an infinite, performs in on Ciel, and connects the damn thing 5 times in a row in a tournament match. The timings (plural) on the combo string for each character is different. Denpa just busts it out without any planned arrangement that he would play against Ciel.

12:33  -  2a is Denpa's block.

Denpa's 2a clashes the wake-up EX of Ciel. As great as it would be to think that Denpa actually planned out the clash, that's rather ridiculous as wake-up EXs can be completely random in top-class matches for its almost non-existent use. What's surprising is how Denpa 5c to clash the next hit.

Now here's the kicker, 5c clashing the second hit of Ciel's 22c would have beaten out the 3rd hit of Ciel's 22c, but that's not good enough for Denpa.

5c clashing the opponent's attack is known by most Satsuki players (in fact, I know a US player who uses it all the time against me :P) beating whatever that comes next. However, Denpa throws out a 5a, anticipating the commonly used tactic of canceling the second hit of 22c into another EX as the continued motion of the 5c would have made him eat up Ciel's 236c. With the 5a thrown out to whiff cancel, Denpa ex-shields the 236c all 7 times (236c cannot be one-button ex-shielded if canceled into after 22c unlike a normal 236c). After that, connects into a combo.
