oh my god. I can't believe I've actually knew about you guys online in this thread 2 years ago, but totally forgot when I saw your names recently. Damn it. lol

But yeah, TOSG 4 was really fun, it was great to meet you guys in person!
I'll be having MB and AH3 at all my following monthlies.

I won't be having a monthly in May (Toryuken/UFGT) and July (EVO), so I'll let you guys know when the next ones will be in June and August.

The reason my numbers are 3 decimal places is because of my method of research.

I used a character that has a move that does 1000 damage and used it on the character being researched to find out how much damage it does at all points in the character's life bar. All I did afterwards was report my findings. These are the values that the game showed me, so why not put them on the wiki? Why give guts values that don't take into account the information that gives out the actual damage?

Thanks for that catch, it is definitely a typo.

V. Akiha's 25% crouch guts is 0.978 NOT 978.000.

Fixed: http://i.minus.com/iTgPMkJP9NMki.png

So if I'm using Nanaya and I 2C 5C someone who's standing, the 2C will deal 1.00x damage while the 5C will deal 0.88x damage, since the 2C puts them in the air?

That's correct. As soon as they change state, their guts is modified.

Base Damage * (Guts*State) = Real Damage

so it would be

2C * (Guts*1.00) then
5C * (Guts*0.88)

wow, good stuff there, that's some nice info. Must have taken a while..

lol yeah. I definitely didn't finish this in one sitting.

Would it be OK if I updated the wiki with my findings?

And if you wanna feel good about your combos, just combo a crouching V. Akiha. She only has 7k health while crouching! WTF?!

Also, here is a chart of all the characters' guts ratings: (link removed)

The number on the right of each chart with no header is the difference between the one next to it and the one right above it. So, the difference between Jump T. Akiha and Jump C-Nero is 257 HP.

The Average chart on the far right just averages the 3 different healths that each character has between Jump, Stand, and Crouch states.

How do you find that Hisui&Kohaku get another factor 1.035 on damage recieved?

I just went through all the characters' defenses in MBAACC v1.07 and I found that the guts factor changes depending on current character state.

Jump: x0.88
Stand : x1.00
Crouch x1.08

These multipliers affect the current guts for the current amount of health, so if you're at full health and your 100% guts is 1.000 and you're in the air, your guts becomes 0.880 and becomes 1.000 once you touch the ground and are in Stand state. Same thing for crouching, the Guts State Modifier changes as the state changes, even during combos.

So you actually have MORE health when you're in the air than when on the ground, and you have LESS health when crouching on the ground as opposed to standing.

These are my findings after checking the guts rating of every character.

NOTE: All guts modifiers listed below are based on Stand state.
If damage ends up becoming a decimal, it will always round down.

In crescent moon:

Move: Startup, Active, Recovery, Advantage, Hitstun
5A: 5, 4, 6, -1, 11
2A: 5, 4, 9, -1, 11

Something doesn't seem right here unless hitstun =! Blockstun and the actual blockstun just isn't listed here.

if 2A has more recovery than 5A, how is it still -1 if they have the same hitstun?

are you sure 2A doesn't have the same recovery as 5A?

I never played MB until recently. I didn't play when it was at lovegety because I was too intimidated by the competition, and was generally a worse player back then, so I probably would have just fumbled around not knowing what I was doing while getting beat.

I'm so glad I was able to get some lab time with this game because it's so fun.
