Ciel's Tech Support / Melty Blood showing unfamiliar characters...Won't open with 1.4 patch

Got Melty blood today and I tried to update it with the 1.4 trainer and it won't let me open the client. It let's me open it fine without the update but me and a friend are trying to use the netplay. Here's an image of what the text looks like in some of the menu's

The 1.4 patch comes up with an error and similar text...anyway to fix this?
