Tournaments and Events / Eight on the Break Tournaments
« on: July 25, 2012, 11:07:16 AM »
Okay so I talked to Cotty and he agreed to let me run Persona tournaments at the break on Fridays--- under one condition, that there be at least around 10 entrants. I want to do these either bi or tri weekly, but I need heads! Who would be interested in these!?

Location:
Eight on the break
340 N Ave
Dunellen, NJ 08812

Details:
Tourneys would start around 8-9pm on fridays [bi-weekly likely]
The main game would be P4U, but I have room for ONE other game
For the other game, the options are : KoF13, BBCSEX, MBAACC, Aquapazza, GGAC . [Likely on Ps3]
Needs a count of at least 10 heads with both games combined [shouldn't be too hard]
No Venue Fee, tourneys likely 5 dollar entry

That said, the Rokrew/Rutgers makes up almost 7 members alone. So these can happen, but I need others to try and show up! Also taking suggestions for the second game I should run at my locals. Really leaning towards GGAC atm.

If you're interested, please contact me via pm/twitter or any other form on contact. Thanks!

P.S.:  Like I said above, there is NO venue fee. Isn't Cotty the best? Also Break Steak is a GODLIKE meal that only costs ~4 dollars with a drink and the place is an arcade. So what are you waiting for!?

THE ALMIGHTY NANAYA-SAMA HATH DEFEATED THE OVERLORD HIME..... BUT BABLYON CALLS UPON ITS MOE-GIRL OF PROMISED VICTORY, H-KOHAKU TO TAKE THE OVERALL GAME

Hahaha, yeah but seriously ggs to LK for running it back on me in losers, felt that set was pretty good and learned a lot. H-Koha is still a very good character, don't sleep on her guys

As for everyone that wanted to come but couldn't, no worries there's always next time. I can list like at least 6 people off the top of my head that would have come to this if they weren't busy [how did you all get busy at the same time and day wtf]

There are no replays of this, i forgot to save the grandfinals, too absorbed in the matches. There was also no stream due to lack of numbers, so yeah.

« on: January 02, 2012, 04:48:04 PM »
Hey guys I'm back! For those of you who don't know, this is a program intended for newer players or players struggling on certain mechanics, match-ups, or characters. I took a break for a long time, but now I'm back and ready for action!

I will be encompassing new things like:
  • Character specialists or top players commenting on character playstyles and goals
  • More planned out streams with possible picture guides and webcams
  • Shorter episodes with fewer matches, but Q&A sessions after each match

SHOW PUT ON INDEFINITE HIATUS, WILL BE BACK FALL 2012 AT THE WORST.

This is of course, subject to change due to people's needs and my school, but I feel this is the best day at the moment. If you feel otherwise, feel free to post why and when would be better for you.

REQUESTS:

You are all free to request whichever match-up or concept is confusing for you, but it will be ultimately up to me which concepts or characters I do cover considering the players and resources that allow.

The matches I've currently scheduled are:

The matches/concepts requested currently are:
Archetype Earth and Powerd Ciel
Ryougi

Tournaments and Events / Rokrewronament 2! [November 11th, Friday]
« on: November 03, 2011, 07:23:12 AM »
I'd really rather not do this the 11th and the 4th isn't possible for me. The reason why I don't want to do this the 11th is because there's a RU tourney for our fighting games, KnightSlash 3 , the 12th. Get back to me on which i should do both back to back, push it back a week, or what.

Also I'm sorry guys but it doesn't seem very probable that I can do this on Saturdays. Unless you guys are fine with a Sunday... [lol...]

I can still try to house out of state players afterwards or we can work something out, so if you're interested and you're out of state hit me up.

Kohaku's Video Room / MBAA Detailed Analysis Live Streaming Sessions
« on: September 13, 2011, 10:12:48 AM »
Hey guys! I'm trying to get a weekly streaming match analysis session going on weekly in preparation not only for the dawn of 1.05, but for all the newer players everywhere and people in my scene trying to learn. I was going to do this roughly 3 months ago, but hey, you know..  :nyoro:

Anyways with that being said, as this will be detailed match analysis, it will be mostly intended for beginners, however i feel both veterans and pros alike can benefit from this, so don't shy away from my weekly project at all if you feel that's the case. This all being said, time to get to the actual schedule/plans.

The plan at the moment is to do a streaming session every sunday possible around roughly 3-5pm EST.
This is of course, subject to change due to people's needs and my school, but I feel this is the best day at the moment. If you feel otherwise, feel free to post why and when would be better for you.

For each session I will be taking a series of matches I consider to be either high level or have alot of information people can learn from, and will be taking requests on character videos of any specific characters or matchups or any other basic questions, so feel free to request. The idea currently is to start off simple and then branch off as/if this becomes more successful, so please tune in !

TSnowFlake's first public appearance!

Hey everyone, a person from Rutgers has an apartment this entire summer, and it's about as spacious as Ehrik's .... you know what that means.

Tsnowflake, or Gabe, will be hosting the entire Memorial Day weekend! BE SURE TO BLOW HIS PLACE UP.

He lives at  136 south Adelaide ave, Highland park; This is within 10 minutes walking distance of the NewBrunswick Train Station:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=New+Brunswick+Train+Station+NJ&daddr=136+south+Adelaide+ave,+Highland+park&hl=en&geocode=FYrtaQIdRwqQ-ynRnR42UcbDiTExCD9rUM6Hdw%3BFUTiaQId-j2Q-ykRSo7iSMbDiTGFpch3IJTq1A&mra=ls&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=55.543096,77.167969&ie=UTF8&ll=40.495966,-74.439583&spn=0.013185,0.01884&z=16

So just pretty much get to the train station in the heart of Rutgers, and walk for like 10 minutes or get picked up.

It will be mainly MELTY. Though since Snowflake, the host of this event, is an avid SF4 fan, there might be some $$F4 on the side. [Maybe even a bit of Arcana]

We're capping the count to 10, but since people live pretty close to this and my place is 15 minutes away if we become too booked we'll work things out.

House Rules:
1. Clean up after yourself / help with the trash
2. After 10 pm try to be somewhat quiet, it doesn't have to be dead silent or anything but it is an apartment complex and I don't wanna be the neighbor that everyone hates cuz we loud. be courteous/use your best judgment.
3. No smoking indoors
4. Feel free to start coming Friday evening after 6pm.
5. Get out by Monday evening.

PEOPLE STAYING OVER:

3. Brenton [Best GamerTag ever]
4. Dumba
5. Komidol

Regional Community / Rutgers Knights Thread
« on: February 24, 2011, 09:22:51 AM »
Fellow Rutgers King$, Knight$, Pleabians, and all those interested in playing! We will now be using this thread as a means to communicate with each other, instead of talking awkwardly through a few PM's and texts.

Considering our scene is actually building, I thought this thread was long overdue for a while, but have been hit too hard by midterms up until now to bother. Let's play some Melty, everyone!

P.S.: For those who do not know, we have 3 hour sessions weekly at the UGS thursday sessions 9pm-12am at room 116B in the Busch Campus Center. Come on by if you're interested in the game and playing with us!

Map location for thursday sessions:
http://rumaps.rutgers.edu/?q=Busch+Campus+Center

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For outsiders wishing to play or drop by, the visitor's lot is here:
http://rumaps.rutgers.edu/?q=Lot+48

Visitor's parking is free from 8am-2pm, but if you left your car in the lot overnight I really doubt you'd get ticketed. Also, since the parking tickets at Rutgers aren't even official, you can just completely disregard them and shred them up. You just run the risk of stacking far too many violations and having them tow your car. [Though I've never actually heard of a case of this happening]

Location of Melty casuals on saturdays [not every saturday, will post when we're doing this] :
http://rumaps.rutgers.edu/?q=Quad+1

If you're not afraid of the tickets, you can park at lot 101, directly near this dorm's lounge:
http://rumaps.rutgers.edu/?q=lot+101

P.S.: I don't mind picking/dropping people off around campus if they parked on lot 48, so feel free to call me if you do

Shiki Nanaya / General Nanaya Meaty Timings After Airthrows
« on: February 03, 2011, 08:59:25 PM »
This should be universal for all of Nanaya's moons, but I will test in further detail later, as this list only currently applies to C-Nanaya. Basically, this is a list of what you can do after a well timed aircombo and airthrow versus certain characters, with both only one JBC and two JBC's for an aircombo listed. Obviously 1 JBC gives more meaty than 2, and obviously just letting them land after a 623C would give meaty regardless of the character.

This list assumes you don't Double Super Jump and don't Airdash after your aircombo. Both of these absolutely KILL the amount of meaty you get, so don't do it in MBAA!

Nanaya's Meaty Approximations [list currently disregards land 2B meaties, will be updated]

Off a Single JBC in the corner

No real options at all, turns into a Yomi game = Ryougi

No Meaty, but Anti Mash [On Point Dash 2A] = Miyako

No Meaty, but Anti-Mash [Decent Dash 2A] = Ciel, Sion, V.Sion, Roa, Mech, Kohaku, Hisui

Meaty [If done really low with a On Point dash 2A] = Tohno, Nanaya, Warakia, W.Len[Hardest to Time]

Meaty [Decently Timed Dash 2A] = Warc, Len

Pure, Delicious Meaty [Free Dash 2A] = Aoko, Nero

Ridiculously Delicious Meaty [Decently Timed Dash 5B] = Kouma

Stupidly Good Meaty [Easily Timed FUCKING 2C, no dash] = Riesbyfe

Off a Double JBC Airthrow in the corner

No Meaty, but Anti-Mash [On Point Dash 2A] = Vermillion, Akiha, Seifuku, Arc

No Meaty, but Anti-Mash [Decently Timed Dash 2A] = Tohno, Nanaya, Warakia, Satsuki, W.Len[Hardest to Time]

No Mety, but Anti-Mash [Easily Timed 2A] = Warc

Pure, Delcious Meaty [On point dash 2A] = Aoko , Nero, Len [Hardest to Time]

Ridiculously Delicious Meaty [On Point Dash 5B] = Kouma

Super Free Meaty [On Point 2C, no dash] = Riesbyfe[/list]

Shiki Nanaya / C-Nanaya 623C EX-DP Loop Combo Specifics
« on: February 03, 2011, 08:47:10 PM »
This thread will be updated as time goes on, but after hitting the lab I finally found out the 'secrets' of this loop and why it may seem hard to get a feel of first.

Combo example : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-M92M5QQ7o#t=50s

Basically, if your first 3 hits of 623C connect, the opponent will almost always be able to caught with 2A 5B right before they land. If you didn't get the first 3 hits, you have to either settle for the 2C OS as they land on the floor for a techpunish/OTG setup, or you can just 623C again to keep the loop going since it's fast enough to do so. They're some heights and such where the first 3 hits don't need to land, but I'll mess with that later.

Also, 623C does NOT need to hit an opponent in their juggle state for this to be valid [AKA they don't need to be in the air]; You can 623C while your opponent is still crouching/standing on the ground and if the first 3 hits connect, you can always 2A on their landing.

Shiki Tohno / 214A CH leads to BnBs?
« on: January 27, 2011, 10:47:58 AM »
I'm not sure if this is because of MBAACC's new CH system, but I was watching a video when i saw a raw 214A CH gatling into a full BnB. My jaw dropped at this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHZZuqvyNns&feature=plaayer_embedded#t=9m45s

The combo is 214A [CH], 2A 5B 5C JC JABC airthrow

F-Tohno 2A is 3f, so this might still be possible on console, but I'll definitely have to test this out later and see if this applies to other moons if it applies to console.

Akiha's Tea Room / The Official Poverty Runner Thread
« on: October 17, 2010, 11:18:44 AM »
Well, after me delaying making this thread for like 4 months, here it is, guys!

The story behind this is that my brother attended Kirah Bash 3 with me and played his laptop, and played this game known as "Tales Runner".
Since everyone in this whole damn scene loves poverty games, Shiki, Kamina, Kirah and some others were immediately interested in this shitty game. I actually warned them this shit was poverty, stupid, and dumb, but they wanted to play it so bad  :V

So, I delayed making this thread for 1-2 months. Whatever, here it is, guys! POVERTY RUNNER~!
http://talesrunner.gpotato.com/

Enjoy, guys. Enjoy your poverty shit runner.  :V

But in all seriousness, if tons of people play this game it can go from really stupid to stupid fun really fast.
Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4jggkrAZHM&feature=related

Post your gamerIDs here! I'll edit this post as time goes on and people add their ID's

Regional Community / Mid-NJ Melty Player
« on: September 26, 2009, 06:39:41 AM »
I'm a relatively new player to Melty Blood, or at least many of you have never heard of me before. I wanna start trying Melty within anyone in NJ, this weekend if possible. I plan to try to play in NYC later on, but I'll go small first and choose some NJ play first. That said, anyone doing anything this weekend? If so, might if i hit that up? Or does anyone plan do something this weekend? I'm free Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
