Most of the things from NEC apply here, streaming is a go and individual people can set-up plans with each other incase you want to get a room for that night. This is a one-day event, and I'll post the rules once I'm not lazy enough to look at dippy's NEC thread

***special*** Gotens Gogeta and and any characters that require fusion cannot be picked as a single character. You must fuse in the game with both characters.

This tournament has been long in the making and it will finally happen in philly. Believe it or not this game has alot of heat with alot of the players talking trash about how they're the best (myself included) lol so nec its finally going down. Bare witness to one of the best fighting games out to date and im not at all joking.

Edit: Also Im running EX 2+ sometime during the duration of the weekend as well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Attn: All Those who will be attending NEC9:

I will add more games to this list in the next few weeks.

This is gonna be the UMK3 *Universal Championship* people, so start practicing so you can represent come Dec 6th.

I have change a lot of entry fee so players can have some kind of money left over to do other things with like eat and party or do what ever. I think this will help the numbers in some of the smaller games to.

All the rules will be the same as all the tournament I've thrown (this will be treated like an arcade version tournament). (CVS2 you can change your players order)

We will have anywhere between 2 Mas Sticks available for use. Other then that you can bring your own controllers. We will have between 30+ TVs available for the tournament and there will be 5 games TVs & games open for casual play.

You also can bring your own system and T.V. if you want something else to play thats not on the game list but let me know b4 hand

-----------------------------------------------------------------
MAPPING BUTTONS--shoulder mapping is allowed.

I want this to be the BEST NEC ever but i can only do it with the players help. There will be food and drinks available to purchase for cheap.

So that's it for now so for more info are to sign up just post or e-mail me eric2necphilly@yahoo.com I need your first and last name, the state your from and game(s) you will be in.

This tournament is not to make a profit but to bring the street fighter community together. The money made will go toward NEC. So anybody that wants to help out with the tournament just pm or email me. We can always use extra help, TVs, and things.

SO I HOPE TO SEE ALL THE REAL PLAYERS HERE.

I still have to update this page with more stuff so stay tune.

HOME OF THE NORTH EAST CHAMPIONSHIP and MARCH MADNESS and SUMMER JAM

-----------------------------------------------------------------

SOMETHING NEW

NEC9 will be helping out the local community by having a CAN DRIVE ... so bring canned food and non-perishable foods for donation ... let's show the rest of the community that we do more than play fighting games all day everyday!

----------------------------------------------------------------

WORD TO THE WISE

Keep the negativity at home ... We are here to have fun ...

For anyone whos been to a previous NEC, you know the deal. For anyone who hasn't, get your ass out to this one because NEC always delivers big business. The main focus this year will be Melty and Arcana, Eric has seen how hype the communities can be first-hand at the last NEC. He wants to help the scene expand, and bring the players back for even more madness. You can start pre-regging, and if you feel like you can help out with a setup for Melty(or any other game), just post up. I'll update the topic whenever he tells me to, but he'll eventually get in here himself.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Melty Blood 1 at Evo?
« on: May 22, 2008, 04:37:30 AM »
I dunno, I think this would be pretty fun. Nothing serious, like $1 entry, best of 3 matches, single elim. I see it as running an SF2 tourney instead of an ST tourney

Also yes I know how broken the game is, which is why I think this would be good for laughs and general fun

Opinions? :mystery:

6
Lets get it, this is gonna be big business!

The Lowdown

This is a BBQ tourney, which will be held in the Fairmount Park system, which is ultimately located in Philly. Exact address is unknown, but I'll post up all the details as soon as I get the park permit situated.

The Entry Fee

$15 a head, plus an item of your choice(see below for options)

The Games

1) Arcana Heart 1/2
2) Melty Blood: Act Cadenza
3) Capcom vs SNK 2
4) Super Street Fighter II Turbo
5) Tekken 5: DR
6) Guilty Gear: Accent Core
7) King of Fighters 98
8) Akatsuki Blitzkampf

The Price
$5 a game

The Rules
# Double Elim.
# 2/3 Games for Normal Matches
# 3/5 Games for Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals
# Winner must keep same character(Able to choose different Arcana[Arcana Heart only])
# If player is not available at time of match, will be sent to loser's bracket. If already in loser's bracket, will be eliminated. Name will be called out using intercom system.

How The Hell This Is Going Down?

It's a tournament laced with a barbecue. You pay your entry fee into the tourney, get your badge, and play your damn games with the luxury of some good food on the side. Your entry fee will be used for charcoal, grills, tables, power strips, blah, extra food, renting the space, and giving the guys who cook AT the tourney a little compensation. If you don't have a badge, I'm gonna have to remove dat ass, and why would you want to make paying for this harder for me?

Why Can't You Run Such and Such Game?

Because I don't like running around like a chicken with no head. I never said you couldn't run your own game, just so long as you bring your own TVs and systems we're cool. If you have interest in a certain game, I'll gladly keep track of who might show up for such game, and if it reaches to over 20 people in the pre-reg list, hell I'll get it going.

So Whats The Situation With Me Bringing Stuff?

Well, to be blunt, I'm not buying all the fucking food for this event, or you'd be paying like a $30 cover fee. I feel as though the best way to get food available for the tourney, is to have each attendant bring a little something for the grills. I'm also going to need some nice guys that'll be cool with donating equipment for this, because I'm not gonna find 20 TVs on my own, or even just systems. I can't afford a PS3 jeez, don't look at me that way.

So to get people schooled in how this thing is working out, I'm gonna go ahead and drop some knowledge right now. Basically, depending on what you bring helps decide what your cover fee is gonna look like. As far as food/utensils, well those are mandatory for entrance. The food/utensils are tiered into different categories, and depending on what you choose to bring along decides how MUCH you're bringing. This is the list I'm going by, check it:

Damn dog, you're getting in free: Supergun(Gotta come with a board nigga)
$10 off cover fee: PS3, TV, Table, Grill
$5 off cover fee: PS2, laptop
$1 "At least you tried" off cover fee: Power strip, Extension cable(30 feet minimum, must have 3rd prong), GHETTO BLASTER

If theres anything not on this list that you'd be interested in bringing, just post about it and I'll see if I'll need it, and how much you'll get off for bringing it.

-----

Lets talk food.

Tier A(aka this needs to feed at least 10 people): Potato Salad, Fried Chicken, Macaroni Salad, Candied Yams, GREENS, Mac & Cheese
Tier B: Watermelon, Chicken, Hamburgers, Fish.
Tier C: Hot Dogs, Biscuits, Cornbread, Soda, Corn on the Cob, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cheese, ALUMINUM FOIL
Tier D: Salt, Pepper, Metal Skewers(no wood), Plastic Spoons/Forks/Knives, Paper/Plastic Plates, Paper Towels, Hot Dog/Hamburger buns, Mustard, Ketchup, Chips, Soda, Pickles, Beans, Rice.

Again, if theres anything not here that you're interested in bringing, drop me a line and I'll see where it'll fit/if I'll need it.

Tier A, you only have to bring one item(as long as it feeds 10 people, I don't wanna hear no "it feeds 10 homeless guys"). Also it already needs to be cooked, preferably in something that can be covered up, and can take the abuse of being covered/uncovered. Aluminum pans work nice!

Tier B, you're still ballin with the food, but you didn't cook anything. This is the stuff that will be cooked on site, bring 2 of these guys

Tier C, now we're getting to the meat of the event. If you're bringing something from just this tier, you're gonna pick out 3 things, duplicates are allowed.

Tier D, well this is hard. Just bring 4 for now

-----

Are there any other things that'll need to be done for this tourney?

We're gonna need people to cook this stuff, sushi is nice and all but to have raw food all day is pretty uncool. I'm gonna need people who KNOW what they're doing, and can cook things that will eventually get eaten. If you're skilled in a certain area but bad in others, thats fine as long as you let me know beforehand. I don't want 5 guys who can only cook burgers but can't cook a piece of chicken worth a shit.

If you take this position, I'll need to you cook 2 hours minimum, and you'll be reimbursed your entry fee, along with free entry into a game of choice. I'm not gonna have anyone slaving over a hot grill while everyone else grubs down mad hard.

-----

There will be limits to what gets brought to this, so after I get a certain amount of people bringing a certain thing, I'm closing off the list for said item. Can't have 30 guys bringing hot dogs and like 2 people with potato salad, you dig?

If you have any interest in attending this, pre-register! I need to get an estimated headcount for how many people are gonna be attending this, because the cost of the permit depends on how many people I'm going to be holding at this tourney. I also need to assure myself that I'll have enough food and that this is worth doing.

To pre-register, just post up with the games you'd interested in entering, along with the food you'll be bringing with you. If you're bringing any extra equipment, include that as well so I can get all of this listed. I ask that if you say you're gonna bring something, please bring that item. You can always change your food before the tourney, but don't have me expecting greens and I see you with 3 cans of raviolis tourney day. You can always take your name off the list in case you aren't able to go, so even if you have the slightest interest in going, register for now.

Name, Food, (optional)Equipment, Games

The Pre-reg list

1) Hyperhal, Philly PA, 3 packs of hot dogs, 3 TVs
2) Mizuki, Curry/Mac & Cheese, 1 Laptop
3) someAzNDude, Hot Dogs, 1 PS2

18) Dream, N/A, PS3
19) Zaelar, N/A, N/A
20) Orka, N/A, N/A

-----

As far as misc. information goes, as far as address and everything, I'll get that figured out as soon as I apply for the permit. I'm gonna scan the possible places I can hold this, and pick what I feel is the best location. As the date goes, right now thats when I want to hold it, but of course things can get ambiguous with the rise of outside problems. Don't book your flights/bus tix as of yet, I'll confirm the date in 2 weeks.

Make this a success by coming out! It's a great deal!

You should know the deal by now, this ish is as monthly as we can get it. Make it out, have some fun, get some matches recorded, hopefully leave home with some extra cash.

There are food spots within the area, and directions to the arcade will be posted up soon. The results of this event will be taken and scored to start off this year's ranbat scoring. I have two cameras for recording tournaments, but I will need many more if I want to get everything completed recorded.

I'll also be in need of people willing to run brackets/bring PS2s for Guilty Gear. The TVs are already there, we just need the equips to boot up the system.

NOTE: If for some reason the arcade gets AH2 before this tournament, the AH1 tourney will be replaced by an AH2 tourney.

NOTE: CvS2 has now been changed to a PS2 tourney, so you know the deal. If you have any extra copies of CvS2 lying around, bring em to the tourney.

All in all I felt this was a great tournament. Things were pushed back about a half hour, because we had to get the brackets situated, but everything still ran at a good pace. Melty Blood finished at an epic 11pm, with Arcana heart coming in a close 2nd at 10:30pm.

I'd like to give a big thanks to Zaelar for making ALL the brackets, you aren't even Asian and you got put in the sweat shop. I'd also like to give thanks to everyone who ran brackets, Waffles | Rina Fag | Zaelar | Master Chibi | E-Honda | Min | Bryheem | Makoto Scrub. Thanks to everyone who came out to this, and sorry about not following the times as strictly as I should have. I'm still in the learning process of running tourneys, and everything wasn't going as smoothly as I wanted to(some things weren't in my power, so I couldn't do much about it). Nothing got stolen(NEC curse didn't come to this tourney!), everyone got their games in, and I fucking hate running tourneys.

I'm so doing it again.

This is the second most useful download if you plan on making your on mix, as you don't need to go through the fuss of finding the loop indexes yourself. You open this file and the beep tells you where the original song would loop. If the beep starts at 3 seconds, the original song will end and start from the third second of the song.

#2.Original MBAC 10.p | --- | Download

  • This is the original 10.p in case you misplace yours or you forgot to back up.

If you are interested in attending and/or entering any of the tournaments, feel free to post with your intentions. If theres anything you'd like to ask regarding the tournament, or if theres anything you'd like to suggest/see at this LU, don't hold back.

Depending on how long the tourneys run, Free Play may be on for an amount of time after the tournaments have ended. There are food spots within the area, and directions to the arcade will be posted up soon. The results of this event will be taken and scored to start off this year's ranbat scoring. I have two cameras for recording tournaments, but I will need many more if I want to get everything completed recorded.

The second Lolifest in most likely a series of monthly tournaments, I'm striving to make the tournament much better with every month. Last LU, things didn't start on time, and confusion as to who was running brackets made tourneys drag on. I am learning from my mistakes, and I hope to fix the things necessary to make this second LU even more enjoyable.

The newer games being added to the line-up is Marvel vs. Capcom 2, SC3, and GGAC. SC3 is tentative right now because I'm not sure what the turnout would be for it. GGAC is also tentative because at the time of the first Lolifest, the PS2 cabinet was not available for usage. In order to make sure that these games can be run, I need to get an estimate on how many heads would show up for SC3. I would also need to make sure the PS2 cabinet will be available for usage at the time of LU2.

Date may be changed if random winter weather shows it's face / any other major tournaments run the same weekend. I hope for a great turnout this time around, and don't hesitate to tell those who might be interested about this event!

Event Mode will be turned on for all games, currently debating whether or not it'll be on for casuals before the tourney begins. Pre-registration can begin by posting here, like so:

Dawain Jackson "Hyperhal" - Philly, PA - Arcana, Melty, ST

Depending on how long the tourneys run, Event Mode may be on for an amount after the tournaments have ended. There are food spots within the area, and directions to the arcade will be posted up soon.

We encourage everyone to come out to this event, for results will be taken and ranked for the area. There will be one video camera available for recording, but more will be appreciated to record everything being ran. Suggestions will be considered for any other game that may want to be ran, although there will need to be a considerable amount of pre-regs for the game before it is considered a go.

With the topic being discussed in the IRC room, I thought it'd be good to make a topic on it seeing as how we'll need to have it somewhere for reference. Basically just post what you've been using for a bnb and help find what his best combo would be.

What I've been using is: 2bc j.bc j.bc 214b

You're canceling on the first hit for 2b, and with both jump C, you let all four hits connect if your opponent in sammiched between a wall, otherwise just let three hits connect or else they'll be wallslammed aka not in your range. If you've got meter, then you can 214c, but don't follow up 214b with 214c because damage gets raped and you'll probably only get 100 more damage off of it.

My combo does around 3.1k, but I remember somebody posting one that does 4.8k. I can't remember it though.
