Ciel's Tech Support / Spectator problems?

... lol, it's been so long since I've actually posted in any place OTHER than The Toast.

Anyway, came across this problem today while spectating Mirr and my friend Alastair. MBCaster would spectate okay, but it would quit after the fight for some reason.

Given that this is the first time I've ever really spectated, is this normal? If not, what could be the problem? :mystery:

I managed to snag the original OP version for Baldr Force EXE called "Face of Fact", sung by Kotoko (mainly because I like her music). Now, in the midst of my boredom as I drove to school one day, it was playing, and I somehow thought I could hear another song inside it.

A few crazy ideas later (and help from a friend), this is the result.

Akiha's Tea Room / 4chan down due to DNS attack

As of now, going to 4chan.org puts you in some kind of weird forum that was apparently made "for the lulz". After checking the 4chan blogspot, it turns out that their domain name registrar account was compromised.

Now before you start asking why the hell this isn't in another forum, that's because the topic is more about DNS attacks. What exactly is a DNS attack? From what I can understand, its when hackers deliberately fuck with the address so that even though you put in the real address, it actually directs you somewhere else you don't want to be, making this some new way of covert phishing. :psyduck:

NetPlay Community / Hosting problem solving

Are there any ways to improve being able to host a Netplay match? I don't want to wait for someone to make a server or use the relay along with half the channel when I could host it myself, but always having people complain about timeouts from your end doesn't help. :slowpoke:

So I was browsing a few videos on YouTube for Melty Blood related vids, and I happen across this particular work:

Now never mind the fact that there's absolutely no MBAC combos being used here. It ends up becoming something more of an MAD at best, which wouldn't be bad in itself except for one important part:

All of the footage used in it? Yeah, it's been used before. He doesn't seem to explicitly credit the original creators of the vids, and instead takes each of them apart, reorganizes them, puts them back together and overlays a new song on top of it.

I think it's blatant plagiarism. What is your opinion on this matter? Discuss. :psyduck:

You know the options page where you can change the difficulty and sounds, and what not?

Well, I sorta decided to listen in full (yes, I was that bored) to whatever the hell is being said when you highlight SeVolume.

Just what is she saying? :mystery: I hear talk about pudding and cookies somewhere in there, and I assume it's Arcueid's seiyuu talking normally for the most part (mainly because she starts talking like Neco Arc at the very end).

I'd have put this in Sacchin Toast, but I'm actually seriously intrigued by this monologue and wonder if there's anyone here who can understand spoken moon, and thus would require a somewhat serious answer.

PS: Is this the effect of Lucky Star and their damn coronet discussion? :emo:

Kohaku / Kohaku's Corner Loop

I've been trying to pull of Kohaku's corner loop as mentioned in the ye olde MeltyWiki from ikusat's page (the current one doesn't have info on her), and I always seem to be too far when doing her late 2A. Am I doing it wrong, or is this something that no longer works in Ver. B? :slowpoke:

So guys, I was browsing through /a/ today (yeah, I know, bad idea), and I came across a thread discussing the size of an actual Neco Arc Chaos when it degenerated (like most threads always do) into a sage war between romanizing レン as Len or Ren.
In Japanese, it gets spelled and pronounced as Ren, but that's because (as far as I know) there isn't any L in the Japanese language. So when it came time to start romanizing stuff, they used Len.

Which is which? Discuss.

Have some White Len/Ren being tsundere while we're at it.

I found it odd that Kohaku just jumped right in like that. Perhaps it's the same as the effect where you can tag Kohaku during any dialog in arcade mode?

I figured I could start a thread like this on the forums now that Version B is out, and simply because Neco Arc Chaos is made of TEH FUKIN WIN.  :V

In case nobody knows how to get the mode in the first place:

EDIT: It seems that you don't need to finish arcade mode with Neco Arc Chaos once to unlock the second dialog, but I'm suggesting to do it anyway just in case, and also to get the hang of him - unless you're Arileth, since he already knows how to play Nero, in which case he probably operates nearly the same way combo-wise.  :V
Also, Tropsy says that getting the second dialog seems to be random, so most of this is how it worked on my end. I guess to be safe, just finish Arcade Mode with Neco Arc Chaos if you happen to get it. After that, the attack mode is unlocked FOREVAR.
  • Get the 1.01 patch first (thanks to Tropsy for pointing this out!)
  • Finish arcade mode once to get Neco Arc Chaos. To use him in arcade mode, highlight Chaos, then press D to select him.
  • Finish arcade mode with Neco Arc Chaos at least once.
  • Start Arcade Mode with Neco Arc Chaos again, but this time hold D until AFTER you choose his color. To be safe, highlight another character, highlight Chaos again, THEN press and hold D until you choose NAC's color.
  • When you play through it, you'll notice the opening prologue is VERY different; Kohaku now shows up in the conversation! This means that you did it correctly (Props to Mailorder for first pointing this out). Even the midboss is different!
  • Play through Arcade Mode until you meet the last stage. When you do, XBOX HUEG Neco Arc Chaos 666 will be your final boss! It doesn't matter if you lose here and continue, it will still work.
  • Select the newly unlocked Giant Attack 666 Mode in the main menu after finishing Arcade Mode.
  • ? ? ? ? ?
  • PROFIT
