Kohaku's Video Room / FREAKISH Denpa match
« on: July 29, 2008, 04:45:32 PM »
http://zoome.jp/game41/diary/77/

A random (not character wise, but teammate wise) 3v3 tournament match.

Pretty uneventful until 10:22 where Denpa comes in.

Short commentary:

10:41  -  FUCK

12:33  -  SHIT

Long commentary:

10:41  -  The Denpa-only infinite combo.

An Akiha-specific Satsuki combo was found quite a months back, it even might be more than a year ago. It actually had practical value and it caught on like Akiha's whiff combo. However, the string was so freaking hard to connect that after a few months, many people gave up on it on basis that the reward vs consequence was too bad to use it in a real match. The reward to connecting that combo is more damage and meter, but failure to do so meant less damage and no okizeme, which is a killer to Satsuki. There are videos of top-class Satsuki players attempting the combo. None of them had more than a 66% success rate of connecting it.

Then here comes Denpa. He adds on another series of attacks that require timing to the string, makes it an infinite, performs in on Ciel, and connects the damn thing 5 times in a row in a tournament match. The timings (plural) on the combo string for each character is different. Denpa just busts it out without any planned arrangement that he would play against Ciel.

12:33  -  2a is Denpa's block.

Denpa's 2a clashes the wake-up EX of Ciel. As great as it would be to think that Denpa actually planned out the clash, that's rather ridiculous as wake-up EXs can be completely random in top-class matches for its almost non-existent use. What's surprising is how Denpa 5c to clash the next hit.

Now here's the kicker, 5c clashing the second hit of Ciel's 22c would have beaten out the 3rd hit of Ciel's 22c, but that's not good enough for Denpa.

5c clashing the opponent's attack is known by most Satsuki players (in fact, I know a US player who uses it all the time against me :P) beating whatever that comes next. However, Denpa throws out a 5a, anticipating the commonly used tactic of canceling the second hit of 22c into another EX as the continued motion of the 5c would have made him eat up Ciel's 236c. With the 5a thrown out to whiff cancel, Denpa ex-shields the 236c all 7 times (236c cannot be one-button ex-shielded if canceled into after 22c unlike a normal 236c). After that, connects into a combo.

Kohaku's Video Room / Korean casuals

This guy uploads Korean casual matches.

He uploads these on Youtube for Japanese people as Koreans use their own video sites (like nico nico for Japanese people), so the names of the players are often Japanese, but they are actually all Koreans.

Unfortunately, there is no sound except for few, and there are only few videos.

NetPlay Community / Suddenly cannot connect to UDP.7500...
« on: December 15, 2007, 03:24:30 PM »
I used the relay ip to play MBAC many times but today, it's not receiving any signal.
I use a linksys router, and I tried forwarding but that seems to have no effect
as I've been playing without forwarding in the past. I haven't tried other ports
so it might be that I can't connect to any ports. Any ideas? ???

"Now waiting for introduction
ERROR: TIMEOUT ( Access )"

"<Report>
Port: BAD ( UDP.7500 received no signal )"

Melty Blood Auditorium / The MBAC machines in US
« on: December 02, 2007, 12:36:35 PM »
I wish to know how the MBAC machines are in US, specifically the stick.

Do the sticks have a square or circle base? As in, if you were to turn it 360 degrees,
does it turn smoothly in a circle or have corners?

I'm trying to buy HRAP3, but the only thing that I do not like about it is the square base
rather than a circle base (and the price :P), so I want to know what stick US machines have.

Thanks.

P.S. What sticks do you guys use?
