(Planned for next Sunday evening (10/13) 4pm PST)
Hi guys,

I haven't talked to my 2 other co-hosts about this possibility of a show, but there's probably still an audience, albeit small and scattered, but I wanted to do one last proper show, even if it is by myself.

This will be a full blown show about my experience with the community, including what we did right as a community, and where we faltered as a community. This isn't a show about how to revive the community or discredit the community, it's mostly just a historical piece, and something other communities can learn from.

I will be accepting call-ins after the topic is covered. Also a warning, I'm not going to sugar coat anything, but you guys should know that by now. I'm going to apologize now that I will probably offend a lot of people, but as always it isn't personal unless stated.

Even if you aren't a part of the community, I invite you to listen to the show, you may learn something!

Ciel's Tech Support / Need help streaming? Come here!
« on: August 04, 2013, 03:45:55 PM »
Hey y'all,

Just thought I'd put up a post if anyone is interested in streaming their Melty Blood adventures, or anything else.

I've been streaming for a long time, I started picking up the hobby when Sp00ky started, and learned everything from him back then, I've branched off now since I'm mostly a PC streamer, but I dabble in console streaming too still. If you guys have any questions, feel free to drop a line.

I'll be constantly adding more things to this thread so keep checking it out!

BASIC STREAMING TOOLS:

Open Broadcaster Software
http://obsproject.com/
Maintained by Jim, it's an Open Source program for streaming. A little bit to learn, but for those wanting to run a simple clean stream with great quality, check this out!

XSplit:
http://www.xsplit.com/
The Classic New-Age streaming program. Maintained by a handful of members of their community it's a full featured streaming program that many streamers these days use for full productions!

Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flash-media-encoder.html
The original streaming program many people started off with. Not as full featured, but still works well.

Hi all, Fox, Master Chibi, and myself would like to go to Final Round. Although at the moment of the making of the thread Fox and Chibi are partially unaware of their situations because of school. I will update this threads and their needs in the future when they are ready.

If we make it, or an individual member makes it we are planning to do a live show at Final Round (recorded or streamed)

Right now I am looking to going to Final Round. I need about $400 dollars for travel funds.

My promise if I make it is I will help run brackets, record/stream the live show (I have a wireless 3g card to stream audio) to make up for the community helping me out.

my paypal is mizuki AT teamspooky DOT com and please specify that this is for Final Round.

Thanks to the people who donate and hope to see you guys there!

Also if you want to donate for Chibi or Fox, they will post their paypals up later themselves and I will update this post with their information.

Hi guys, you all might know me as the person that records, compiles, and occasionally live stream the show. I will be doing a tutorial on how to make your own live show or gamestream and how to optimize it on my personal channel on October 4th, 2011 at 5pm PST. I will answer questions anyone has. So if you know someone who wants to pick up streaming, or has problems with their own streams, I will be happy to answer them!

stream site: www.twitch.tv/thenipahhut

also if you guys miss the show, I will upload it to my youtube channel and link it here!

On going work, Zar suckered me into writing this.

Anyways, here are some musts for having a smooth stable stream from a console assuming you have everything already hooked up and set up (this includes your streaming program!!!! I do recommend Xsplit though!) For pc streaming, read my guide here: http://forums.chs5.net/topic/8802-using-xsplit-to-stream-on-justintv/

AT LEAST
a processor with a strong P4 (with proper cooling, don't want it blowing up) or a decent Dual Core processor
More than 2 gigs of ram
Video card that isn't an intel GMA shit or whatever they're called. (better if not integrated)
a capture device (if you're new get a easycap, don't shell out money to get a Blackmagic to find out you can't even stream in SD quality)
a Justin.tv account (don't use ustream, trust me)

Streaming is very sensitive. You need to adjust settings depending on specs on your pc, quality of your net, wired of wireless internet, etc. Obviously I can't get to anything in one post, so please feel free to ask questions. DON'T pm me questions with help, I will probably not read it. Your best bet is to post in the thread so someone can catch my attention to when it comes up. (you can however email me questions at mizuki AT teamspooky DOT com)

Anyways most of you will be streaming off an easy cap, and streaming Melty Blood. Cool, hope you have everything set up, but you just don't quite know how to set your settings... In all streaming programs (Flash Media Live Encoder/Xsplit/Wirecast) you have the ability to change resolution and bitrate, THESE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS EVER IN STREAMING.

Playstation 2's can only run up to like 640x480 resolution (or mb does, I think?) so making your resolution bigger than that size is not necesary (but you can if you have a godlike computer I suppose) On lower end pcs, something such as 320x240 is pretty much the only thing you'll be able to do, but fear not, if you have a decent net connection, it won't look like total crap. I personally stream at 1000kbps when I stream off SD consoles, that's about 1mb. That might be too much for some people, you'll have to mess around with those settings (most programs these days auto-correct upload rate and smooth it out so it doesn't look like shit) With this in mind, experiment, have a friend watch your stream and see if it works out for them. The better the processor is, the more you can up that resolution. In short we learned that

Better the processor: Bigger the resolutionp
Better the internet: More upstream

There is other stuff, but uh I'm tired and wanted to get this outta the way, so people can ask up questions and I'll answer, maybe it'll remind me to make more details in the post.

Melty Breadcast / Live show feedback
« on: November 24, 2010, 12:15:54 AM »
Is not for download, yep there is no show this wednesday, instead...

IT'S LIVE!

Join me and possible other guests this Friday, discussing general Fighting Game stuff. I'll answer all your questions regarding anything I know and can answer about. Such as "How can I get the most out of practicing/watching youtube videos", "This tournament is going to be my first tournament, what should I know and do to prepare (other than reading bellreisa's fine article on Mizuumi or "What are the basics I should know how to start learning fighting games."

If you have certain Melty questions, leave it in the question thread, we can most likely answer this in the general downloadable shows, this live show is for you new guys out there, or people who just want to know more about the general scene.

If you would like to be on the show as a guest, please private message me, older fighting game players recommended.

Melty Breadcast / The Official Melty Bread Podcast Thread.
« on: August 30, 2010, 03:48:52 PM »
Hi guys, the time has come for the podcast to begin!

The hosts for the show are Master Chibi, Makoto Fox, and myself. The podcasts will be downloadable (probably via Mediafire, unless you guys have a better alternative) once a week, most likely on Wednesday. They will span anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes long, with content containing tournament info, player interviews, in-depth character analysis, and more. This section will be updated weekly with shows.

Akiha's Tea Room / The all-purpose DOOM thread.
« on: August 12, 2010, 06:16:45 PM »
Yes, the classic FPS shooter from the early 90's. I have a server on skulltag. 24.6.227.104:10666 is the address to it and mizuumi is the password, and most of the time it is up. Once a night or every other night Me, mauve, SK, sometimes we get ClearSky or Rithli to join in on our antics. I have a 16 person limit, although I do not exactly want 16 people on my internets.

This thread can be general discussion about the game, questions or even post up speed runs and what not you enjoy from youtube (or even your demo files!)

http://www.skulltag.net - Skulltag client for online multiplayer action!
http://prboom-plus.sourceforge.net/ - PrBoom - plus for single player and TAS recording!
http://www.chocolate-doom.org/wiki/index.php/Chocolate_Doom - Chocolate Doom for single player for you people who like it old school, but don't want to set up dosbox for original executables!

Doom discussion goes on in #poverty (yes, that's right) on mizuumi once in awhile, join in the fun!

I'd be willing to host one once a week or every other week. It would be similar to the Donjon Radio, but a bit more serious, and more geared towards players and their feelings on subjects.

If I were to do this how would you want it?
A) Live shows
B) Downloadable Podcasts

I was thinking of a player interview in these shows too once in awhile, something to throw on the frontpage.

Don't worry, I won't sound monotone and bored, I do have an enthusiastic voice.
