Since I'm low in time for a detailed thread opener now, I'm making it short.
The
National
Novel
Writing
Month is a writing contest that starts on November 1st and ends on November 30rd. Every participant starts writing a novel on Nov 1st and tries to reach at least 50,000 words by the end of November. If he succeeds, he aquired the goal of writing a novel in one month.
There are no prizes involved or anything. It's a mere just-for-fun contest, though people have reached in their scripts to publishers and are now authors of a book that can be bought.
Most of the infos and rules are stated on that page. Important is, that you don't start writing before the start date. And don't be picky about what you wrote. Just write. In order to reach 50,000 words, at least 81 pages are the minimum (Tried out with Lorem Ipsum). When the month ends, you count your written words and then run your text through the online validator. If your and its match are the same, you are stated as a winner.
I take this chance to actually write something which I didn't do for months now. I'm not trying to reach the 50,000 but I'm trying to finish the story. And it's highly inspired by Nasu's stuff, of course. I hope I finish it, though I basically lack time.
