Other Games / Dark's Souls's's's
« on: August 16, 2011, 08:36:22 PM »
Is anybody else here picking up Dark Souls? I am a huge huge huge Demon's Souls fan and am totally picking this up. (preordering the game nets you the fairly snappy looking collector's edition)

Also, this dub of the newest trailer is hilarious.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Framedisplay for MBAA (?!?)

FrameDisplay v2.0
FrameDisplay v2.0 Source Code - built with mingw32 crosscompiler

FrameDisplay v2.1 development build (src) (supports additional games, no other fixes/updates)

  • Supports MBAA, either directly opening the .iso file or from the mepRofs.cvm file from the dvd.
  • Can view all playable characters, plus effect data.
  • Can view both console and arcade information.
  • Can save sprites to png.
  • Can create 'clones' that let you view multiple frames simultaneously.
  • Completely rewritten. New Windows menus. No more SDL. More extendable, built to handle multiple games once I get around to writing the drivers.

There's more coming; Still needs some work on the display front, and the Windows GUI still needs work.(Maybe a Japanese translation too.) But I need a break for a few days. Been working on this for a couple weeks now.

Note to would-be hackers: The .cvm file index is encrypted and compressed. I did not break the format and I do not know how to read it directly.

Enjoy.

Download from the usual spot.

This is a very minor update, so unless the naming thing is really critical to you, you probably don't need to update.

  • Features:
    • 'T' replayFilenameFormat mod, same as %t but no seconds count.
    • Bind and init errors more verbose now.
  • Bug fixes:
    • Fixed name overflow/overwrite bug. Oops.
    • Fixed startup freeze by importing GetMyPort fix from th075Caster. Oops.
    • Character short names altered to not be ambiguous:
      Warakia is now Wrk
      Warcueid is now Wrc
Don't know how I missed that one.
    • Some get information text adjustments.

This is the final version I will release. I want to be done with Caster, so it's someone else's problem now.

Enjoy!

Download from the usual spot.

  • Features:
    • Player name support added from CowCaster.
    • anonymousObs anonymizes observer name.
    • Get Information extended.
    • Should now work in Linux/Wine, but there are some bugs.
  • Bug fixes:
    • Fixed port selection. Oops.
    • Fixed delay input. Oops.
    • Fixed standby version warning. Oops.
    • Fixed screensaver bug. Oops.

What's not fixed that I know of:

  • Sometimes keyboard input cuts out randomly for some people. Don't know what's causing this.
  • Crashes horribly for some people. Inspecting this made it look like the problem was less Caster and more PEBKAC, but I don't have enough information to make a real judgment or fix.

Let me know if anything breaks.

You got 'em, post 'em here. I want to hear all of them, no matter how minor they are.

For the record, I know about the port access bug, and I also know about the standby error warnings. The Vista stuff is going to take someone to contact me on IRC rather than the forums to fix, so tell me where/when you are and get your butt over to one of them. Other stuff I've either forgotten or haven't been notified of.

I think the oddest one is that searching for my mbcaster on google comes up with a corrupted page result, but the page itself is fine. No signs of tampering. Puzzling.
