poor socal thread

always silent  :slowpoke:

For those of you in San Diego I know Arcana Heart 2 was at Tilt in Mission Valley mall as well as Horton Plaza.  Been a couple months since I've been back to play them but I was really surprised, not to mention happy, to find those in SD.

Well I see in the MB store you guys link to the copy Play Asia is selling.  If I buy that copy is that all I need or will I need to get some patches, expansions, etc.?  I plan to play this w/ a Super Joy Box 3 Pro USB adapter and a PS2 Hori stick if that makes any difference.
You will need that and the patch to the latest version, 1.03A, which is also linked to in the front page of Melty Bread. If you want to netplay, however, that's something different altogether.

I think I'd probably be fine w/out netplay in the beginning but if I decided to do it later is it a pain to get running?

Any tips in memorizing the Kana?

Thank you for links on Kanji.

Wow!  Great thread!  I'm in the 2nd semester of Japanese and after taking a year off from the language I have to say Kanji, Kana, etc. it's all use it or lose it.   Sure somethings come back but I think if you can find something you enjoy where you can actually practice using your Japanese often, that's the best way to learn.  I started a Mixi account just to try to write journal entries at least a couple times a week to help w/ my Japanese outside of class.

the PC version is pretty much a port of the current arcade version.

I know there's a few to choose from.  Is Act Cadenza Ver. B the best one to get?

Outside of the arcade, I've only played Melty on PS2.  Just wondering is the PC version much better and if so is Act Cadenza Ver. B the best one to pick up (best graphics, gameplay)?  I'd imagine you're either using a stick or PS2/360/etc. controller to play right (fighting game w/ keyboard and mouse just seems bizarre)?

Wow!  When would that be?  I played that at AX this year.  Very cool game.

any day from 1-5pm is not packed. Packed days are friday and saturday nights 8-12 midnight. sometimes thursdays
Cool.  I'm definitely going to come up in the next few weeks and check the place out.  Sounds awesome.  I also read on Shoryuken about a new arcade opening in SoCal (Shogo's arcade? Denjin Arcade?).  Sounds like another good place coming.  Too bad nothing's closer to San Diego.  :-[

The picture above looks like the place is freakin' packed.  When are the best times to hit up AI when it's least busy?  Weekday afternoons?  If I'm coming up from SD, I'd like to get a decent amount of game time in.   ;D

AI now has street fighter 4 up and runing in HD...

OMG!  Yes!  I played it a couple times this year at Comic Con and definitely would love to play it again.  Anyone know if they have Arcana Heart here?  And damn if they got BlazBlue (or is that just FFA that's supposed to get it?).  I'm down in San Diego but may make the trip to hit up this arcade.  Is this the closest place to San Diego that has SFIV and Melty Blood?  Guessing the answer is yes because I didn't see anything else in the arcade locations sticky.

I'm in SD but so far have only played MB on PS2  :-[.  BUT I would definitely be down to check it out on PC and in the arcade.  I'm pretty sucky at 2D Fighters but they are my fav kind of games to play!!!  :emo:
