Tohno Shiki having a run instead of a dash
No Nanaya
Will probably be ground based instead of air based
It's doomed

Actually, I thought I read they said they were going to make the combat more air based, rather than ground based. Let's see if I can dig out the interview -

"""
As for the battle system, will it follow the precedents the original set? Also, what new systems will it contain?

Kamone: The battle system has been reconstructed to bring out the personality of Melty Blood first and foremost. There aren't many systems that have remained entirely the same, shields, bursting, and air combos that are fundamental to Melty Blood are present so the gameplay will feel the same as the original series. Completely new elements include a number of new resources to use new actions, as well as new systems. The spacing game is very different from the original series, so I hope you'll all look forward to the next set of infodumps.
"""

Eh, ok. Not exactly a confirmation.  The teaser trailer prety clearly indicates red life, and I think HEAT is so iconic that they'll pretty likely bring it back mostly unchanged.

Also, I'd totally expect Nanaya. He's pretty important to Arcuied's route in Tsukihime, isn't he? (even though he isn't explicitly named)

Legitimately not a hoax! :)

Seems like a long shot to expect that this will lead to any kind of major Melty updates within the year, but still... French Bread's last unofficial word on it (circa 2016 or so) was that they'd do a Melty Update if the IP came back...

Hey, Flea - out of curiosity, where in Norcal?  Sacramento? Berkeley? San Fransisco? San Jose?

... too many regions to keep track of up here.

Hey Gang -

I'm back in town on vacation this week - is everyone going to be @ Japan arcade?

... I actually know where that one is.

6
Running a little late - leaving now from West LA...

7
Well, let's take it one weekend at a time (my schedule's still kinda uncertain) -

I'll aim to be in around 8:30 tonight

My skills are pretty rusty, but hopefully I won't bore anyone tonight :)  Look forward to seeing people!

8
Aloha, People!

Is anyone gonna be around Japan Arcade this Weekend? I'll actually be back in town! (... about damn time (grumble)) There's also a good chance I'll be around Next Friday, but that's not 100% certain, yet.

9
Yeah - old workaholic habits die hard, unfortunately.  I'm interested in getting transferred back down to LA, but it'll at least be a few more months before I'll have any opportunity to bring it up.  In the meantime, I'm just going to have to figure out when it would make sense to take a vacation and head back down there...

10
God damn I need to get down to LA again, sometime....  :(

Glad to see the torch is still burning, at least... and in Little Tokyo - no more driving all the way up to the Hills!

Hey -

Ok, I'll keep checking those. There's a decent (%50) chance that I'll be there tonight - I'll bring my notebook for Melty casuals, but I don't have extra sticks.

I need some Melty to fight off my depression about missing West Toast down south  :'(

12
(sigh) Wish I could be there... but yeah, it's basically impossible at this point - I'm still settling in up North. Keep me posted for the next round when I actually have vacation days :P

Just a quick heads up -

I went to Gamecenter tonight, brought my notebook and actually got a bunch of rounds of Melty in. Felt damned good! I'd be down for hitting San Mateo every couple of weeks or so - maybe weekly if I knew people were going to be there :)

- Now to check out that arcade version that's apparently at Southtown. Maybe I'll hit that next weekend. Oh wait, actually, there's a chance I'll be back at Gamecenter next weekend, since some friends from LA will probably be up here, and were interested.

Cool, I'll be in, too. Might be on the late side again tonight - some friends of mine wanted to hang out in the early evening, but not for too long.

Well - when I get up there, I'd be all down for recurring casuals / matches.   :)  But I'm not going to do anything so presumptuous as try to reboot a scene until I'm settled in.

Ok, good to know.  It looks like I'd be able to easily commute to Game Center - and I have a friend in SF who could introduce me to Southtown.

I'd totally show up to the tourney - but I won't be up there until the end of May; just scouting around at the moment.

Thanks for the info!

Hey All -

I'm going to be moving up to the South Bay (Mountain View / Sunnyvale) area from LA at the end of May -

I've been going to FFA down here to play Melty pretty much every week. Just trying to see if I can find a scene up there! What do people do (where do they go) to get matches in?

Wait, I just started paying attention to the rest of the thread.

@Numa - Feb 28? Like next year?

@Ehrik - Where exactly are you when you're in SoCal?

Well, I'm planning on going in tonight, but I'll probably be on the late side - after 9 pm.

Ok, that's incredibly handy. Thanks for the info!

One thing I immediately noticed I was doing wrong after looking at your inputs is that I was trying to jump before doing the 623., rather than having the 9 at the end of it. Once I figured that out, I was able to do it a lot more reliably.  My timing is still kinda bad, though. now I get the ground bladesinker more often. Just need to keep practicing, though  :)

Thanks again for the help!

Hey, could somebody offer up some advice on getting the TK Bladesinker to come out? I'm having the damnedest time trying to do basic TK knives combos - I usually wind up getting a B heiro instead.  Is there some timing or gesture thing that you guys do that could help me be more consistent?

I've been sitting in training mode trying to link 5C into the TK (B) knives, and I usually get one of 3 things - Usually, I get a ground B flip - occasionally I get a TK'ed air B dive, and occasionally I get a ground DP. I'd say I get the air knives about 1 out of 10 tries.

Is there some trick/timing to letting the stick come to neutral between starting the ground attack (5C) and having it finish that I'm missing? Is there some specific thing I should be looking for in the input stream? Melty seems to do a lot of input "forgiveness" so I'm seeing all kinds of messy stuff in the input stream that it's glossing over...

Ok, I'll be in tonight, but I haven't had time to get the extra recording equipment.... :/

Oh well, sushi and melty!

Oh, also, on another odd note - I might go into FFA tonight. I need to put some miles on my car to clear a check engine notification from my engine's computer before I get it smogged.

I'll see how I feel tonight after work.

Ok, so the cabinet is outputting VGA for video and Red/White RCA audio? Or is outputting TRS (like headphone) for audio?

Gargh!!!

I'll be there next week!  BTW, Numa, what precisely are you using for capture? It seems like it might be a good idea for me to equip my own notebook with it,  so we have backup.
