I'm not sure who has the replays, there was a bunch of different laptops there that should have had replay saving.  I don't recommend watching my matches though lol... the laptops all had different lag from what I was used to so I couldn't do any combos : (

@Zar / Roku - Fuck you, maybe you would have the right to complain about how the tournament was ran if you were actually there.  How about some congratulations or something next time?

IIRC, it was an 6 man round robin.

1st Beno (C-Wara)
2nd ZomB (H-Akiha)
3rd Greats (H-P.Ciel / C-W.Len / F-Mech)

Brandino didn't enter lol.

I think most of the replays were saved, but I don't know who has those.

Where's my console release?

for the characters 2C 5C 6B is hard to time on initially in the launcher, don't worry about delaying the 5C much and mostly focus on delaying the 6B

personally i don't worry about the j.B 5B 2C combo since most the time 5B 6B works fine for corner carry, and for the certain starters where extra carry is needed, the 2C 5A(wiff) 6AA 6B combo adds the extra corner carry needed though it does lower dmg a bit

Anyone have matchup advice vs Warachia as C-Aoko specifically?

Neutral game vs him doesn't feel TOO bad since you can lay lame and wait for him to get hit by an orb or j.236A or 236A or something similar.  But so far to me it feels like it's still slightly Wara favor in a neutral situation.

However, due to poor initiative from air combos ended in airthrow midscreen, it feels like after landing a punish outside of the corner initiative goes right back to Warachia.  Meantime all his combos end in EX-Pinwheel or corner throw so he can capitalize on all his knockdowns.

Any reccomendations on getting at least some basic oki from airthrows midscreen?  I know there's the 5[C] 4C air CH combo that's wildly impractical most of the time between being CH only and needing to be very close.  Other than that though, I can't seem to find anything decent.  Just being able to get basic pressure on his wakeup would make that matchup feel a lot less bad.

Personally, I don't really know team_purple very well, but he did good in the tourney so I don't see why there's any reason to question that position.  And if you don't like him this certainly isn't the place to talk about it...

Also, I think the tournament ran really smoothly, and I don't really feel like any significant mistakes were made.  If we really wanted replays we coulda just turned on replay saving lol.

Ok so there's recovery after airdashing, and every type of attack but A attacks (i'm sure kouma/satsuki are exceptions)

Does this include jumping and landing without doing anything, air dodging, and jumping and then double jumping and landing without doing anything?


It seems like the answer is to just always do an attack on the way down if you can which isn't anything different than we knew already, I'm just curious if those allow safe blocking or not (would let you avoid stuff like getting hit by air blockable DP or a parry or what have you).

This is suddenly way too confusing.

I was under the impression that even if you do nothing while in the air that there is a certain amount of landing recovery (without trip guard).  And that doing things such as wiffing a C or B attack in the air (moves that do not recover before landing), as well as shielding and wiffing an airthrow - enlongated this period. 

And the other thing that I thought I understood is that if you land while doing ANY air normal (aka wiff a normal on the way down, whether it still be in startup, active, or in recovery), that you would gain full trip guard upon landing, as well as be able to attack immediately.  I'm pretty sure that at least this last statement is correct because many characters make use of this property for which-way mixups (if you try to do it without wiffing a move on the way down you'll find that by the time you recover you will be at a frame disadvantage).

Is any of that wrong?  Also ice vine isn't much of a test if people will actually hit it before landing, but I don't really know that much about it.
