@ BurstOfAnger
Ah I see. I thought that the OTG hit would force them to tech. But since the opponent can stay lying down, you're left pretty open if you try to punish a tech.

@ Rokunaya
Ahh I see what you mean by the guarding, now. It really does make the timing harder, and that combined with what BurstOfAnger brought up makes it pretty unreliable after all, oh well.

I don't know if anyone found this already, but I made a quick video of a funny Nanaya reset I found just now.

Kohaku's Video Room / Re: Any way to download Nico vids?
« on: February 03, 2009, 01:06:08 AM »
What I usually do is load the video page in internet explorer and then once it's finished loading (for vista) I go to to this location in windows explorer

C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5

You have to go to tools -> folder options -> view and click "show hidden files and folders" and possibly uncheck "hide protected operating system files"

In the Content.IE5 folder, you'll have some folders with odd names, a file called desktop.ini and a file called index.dat

Check inside the folders and look for a file called smile[1].flv . It's easiest to find this file by sorting the files in the folder by size, and it'll usually be the largest one.

The process on XP is about the same.

This seems kind of long, lol. But I've found it to be the easiest way to download stuff from nico video without having to download any extra applications.

A good one.
This, lol.

You need some good ram and a decent graphics card or something, I guess. I have an HP Pavilion DV6000 laptop and MBAC runs very well on it.

Here's a pretty nice MBAA video of Full Moon Nero I found at random. Nero starts at 1:38 and continues through the rest of the video. The player seems pretty skilled, and shows off a lot of what Nero can do in MBAA.

I was wondering a couple of things...

What does Lnc mean when it's used as a value for hitstun or blkstun?

Does the value for hitstun and blkstun apply to both the character using the move and the character hit by the move?

And lastly, on this picture, for example

The white box and green box around Aoko are, as you mention in the readme, her collision box and hitbox, respectively. What's the difference between the two? Can she be hit where both boxes are present?
In cases like this image

The white box mostly doesn't cover her body.

And also, does a yellow box always represent a clash box?

If you could help me out, it'd be appreciated. :)

This tool is super helpful! Thanks again for your efforts! ;D

Hisuko vs Ries, then Arc vs Ries, then Vakiha vs Arc (Stage music here is freakin awesome), Ries vs Arc again, Sion vs Arc, Ries and Arc again (cool stage)

edit:

Second one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zKcmZ2XLNE
Arc vs Ries, Arc Vs ries , Half moon sion makes appearence vs arc, Ries vs arc (again >_>), then Ries (crescent this time) vs arc, Ries crescent again vs Arc. Should be a third one coming soon.
Awesome vids. Thanks for sharing. It's nice to see some MBAA footage with good players, rather than what feels like cpu vs cpu fights on the SEGA youtube channel. A lot of Arcueid action in these two videos. Arcueid's Last Arc looks friggin epic, now. ;D

Yeah, I noticed that I got something like 5745 damage on Sion rather than 5900 because of difference in timing for the 623c combo. Dang reverse beat... >_>

combo -> 623B 41236C
for the lulz

 :blah:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbdzKKK1-3M :prinny:

On a side note
j.c 5b 5c 2c 2b j.bc j.bc airthrow is 5288 on Sion

j.c 5b 5c 2c 2b 623c 5a 5b j.bc j.bc airthrow is 5676 on Sion
For the first combo, I got 5240 damage (12 hits) on Sion, critical hits turned off.

For the second combo I got 5900 damage (19 hits) on Sion, critical hits turned off. So that's 660 damage difference. :3

Although I don't really get how I got such a different number for the second combo. The first one I figure you probably got a critical hit somewhere so your damage is slightly higher. But the second one...? My damage is set to 3. That's standard, right?

For another comparison,

j.c 5b 5c 2c 2b j.bc j.bc airthrow is 5215 damage (12 hits) on Shiki Tohno, critical hits turned off.

j.c 5b 5c 2c 2b 623c 5a 5b j.bc j.bc airthrow is 5947 damage (20 hits) on Shiki Tohno, critical hits turned off.

Another side note, j.c 5b 5c 2c 2b 623c on Sion, I can only get 623c to hit 5 times, as opposed to its full 6. Something weird with spacing and hitboxes and stuff... It hits 6 times on Shiki. <_>

Snap, you sure know your stuff, LoliSause. :o Major kudos.

If I may add a suggestion, I think it would also help if you slant his eyebrows inward some more, like in this image

Right now he looks like he has a sort of quizzical expression, as if he's going "Eh?".

Otherwise, a pretty awesome 3D model. :)

Akiha's Tea Room / Re: Melty Blood character voices
« on: August 18, 2008, 12:31:48 PM »
This may or may not be all of them. I didn't take the time to check. The program I used to rip them I've seen doesn't rip everything from the game, such as certain announcer sounds. But if not all, it's most of the voice clips. Also, these were ripped from the PS2 version, so it will probably be missing some voice clips.

I thought this video was spectacular in terms of video editing and combos/setups. A bit disorienting at times, but very flashy and well done.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: Custom MBACPC Music? Check!
« on: July 07, 2008, 03:35:50 AM »
Just a quick discovery from me. I mentioned a little bit ago that I had trouble deleting the ExtractorExt.dll file. Well, I downloaded extractor again with the intent on attempting to make an OST using all Melty Blood remixes, but quickly found out that not all the songs have been remixed yet, such as Satsuki's or Kohaku's stage music. So I went to delete extractor again and lo and behold, the dll wouldn't delete again because something was using it.

Long story short, I was able to delete the file by booting up my computer in command prompt safe mode and then used the del command to delete the file.

Hopefully none of you guys have had this problem. But in case you do in the future, here's a possible solution. =)

Kohaku's Video Room / Re: Breakdown: Nanaya CMV
« on: July 04, 2008, 08:41:14 AM »
mmm, it suffers from a lack of variety because every combo is on the same stage against the same character, so it feels really "samey". In future try to mix that up a lot.
Ahahah, I was thinking that a bit after I finished it. That's probably something I should have kept from my last video. Thanks for the tip. =)

A friend also mentioned that I probably should have also done some of the combos so that the movement would go from right to left sometimes, instead of always left to right.

Pretty cool AD setups in there. Though I'll agree with Sabator, some of the combos looked very very similar, and it would have been nice to see a different stage.

Very nice sprite work though, I wish I knew how to do that...  :P
Hehe, thanks! ^_^ I like the AD setups because they're so needlessly flashy and impractical, which makes them fun to watch. ;D Some of them took forever for me to pull off, though, like the last combo. TaMa makes it look so easy. @_@

As for the sprite work, it wasn't too hard, just really time consuming. @_@ I would take each still shot from the game by using print screen and then edit them in paint if needed, like with the intro 1, 2, 3, 4 stances. After that, I'd put em into windows media player frame by frame and sync them to match the music as best as possible.

There isn't really much you can do with Nanaya's knife and feet shenanigans.
Yeah, Nanaya's combo's are generally of the same nature, mostly ending in double j.BC to air grab. But the parts leading to that vary and make it more interesting. =)

Hehe, shenanigans. ;D

Also, Vista is kind of icky. D: But since it was pre-installed on my laptop and isn't enough of a pain to install XP, I just deal with it. :psyduck:

On a side note, this was just for fun. ;D

But then again, just for fun? Man. This was hard. Nanaya's Last Arc doesn't hit through super armor, which like 80% of the Giant Neco's attacks have. x_X

Aka Akiha's Last Arc is a lot easier to kill him with. XD
