Red Arcueid / Warc - The ComboVideo of Choice!
« on: January 22, 2008, 10:10:49 AM »
Hey Guys.

It's actually a pretty old combovideo but I still haven't seen it posted on the boards.

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm1173316

It basically shows off some of the good BNB's and some superawesome tripple-Nägel-loops amongst other things. Too bad the editing and videoquality is lacking, he could've left that to someone who actually knows what they are doing  ;D Still, an awesome video though. Re watching it kinda got me thinking of playing Melty again. (that and was the reason why I stopped with my combo-vid project. since I all the combos were either done, or improved, in this vid)

Cheers!

In the beginning of the final Xzi screams out "Fuuuusk fuuusk fuuuusk!!!" which is Swedish for "CHEATING!!", since Caer obviously gets a significant advantage because of his CAMOFLAGUE H-F BLADE STYLE.... "I am not bitching, xzi is bitching for me!", AkaAkiha-players, bitching for people since 07.

(fyi use the term "fuuuusk" at wt8 frequently enough and we will send you pretty blonde swedish ladies)

Tournament Results / Showdown 2 in Lund ! !
« on: November 12, 2007, 11:07:07 PM »
The (only non-con) melty-tournament Showdown in Lund was held last weekend and lots of guilty and melty was played. Since I was tournament director and have had shitloads of studying to do I hadn't played a lot (any) melty pre-tournament but I still had a lot of fun and we got to enjoy a lot of good matches. The Swedish community ain't that good yet, but we're a lot better now since Showdown 1 at least, so we're getting there. Anyways, as for the results:

System: 4pools, 2ppl advance from each to a single-elimination bracket

1. Caer (nanaya)
2. Shinjin (warc)
3. Xzi (akaakiha)
4. Nehle (aoko)
5. Yonasu (arc)
-   Nekomon (v.sion)
-   MarGeta (warc)
-   Rensengeki (satsuki)

People that didn't advance from poolplay:
Amn
Mr.Wall
CheeseAbuser
Godfrog
Kuro
Neophos
Svampen
WhateverPotemkin
Iglo
Ecksen

Total contestants: 18

VIDS

converted but not made to fit youtube yet, probably up later today!

Can people please stop overreacting on the whole maids-thing? We don't know shit yet, just sit back and relax geez. Some of the Swedish-players are like "omg no! now I change char" just because one screenshot shows them at the same slot. We don't know shit yet, so let's just chill okay?  :V

Double-post Woppdiidoo!

Anyways, here is the new b&b guys!

Standard combo from lowpoke:
- 2A 5B 2B 2C 5C , jC jB(1hit) dash jB(1hit) jB(2hit) jC Throw

Overhead-midscreen (havent tried on all chars but works on shikis and arcueid/warc
- 5[ B ] 2C 5Ax2 236A aircombo
(on nekoarc/NAC do: 2B 2C 236A
(on ren/w.ren do:2C 5A 236A

Overhead-corner (works on chaos, tohno, arc)
- 5[ B ] 5C 236A 5B 236A aircombo

Reason I waited with posting this is because I thought of making a vid of some kind but in the end, im the sharing and caring kind of guy  :-*

Have fun <3

Red Arcueid / Re: Warcueid (big update, 070423)
« on: July 30, 2007, 12:58:39 PM »
Yeah, I have noticed that jB isnt as godlike as I though it was. Nevertheless, i still think it is a good airmove. Not godlike as I apparently wrote in my FAQ  ;D

Also I have started using a different air-combo vs some:

jC jB(2hit) dash jB(1hit) jump jB(2hit) jC throw

At least it looks cooler than the old one  ;)

Im gonna wait about saying to much though, until I played some decent players. But yeah double-jump/airdash is supersweet.

Also landing the SBT-combo is pretty difficult imo. (*.* 2B 2C 623C, 5C 236A 5B 236A jB jC jB jC throw) I spent like 15-20mins and only landed it once!  :slowpoke:

And if you land a 2B you should always go for the combo, I didnt really point that out in my rant (hey, I was still learning!).

5C whiffs if your opponent (or at least a lot of characters at the range that you are most like to use it) is crouching, keep that in mind. I did that fail today like 3-4 times :V

-

P.S. I still cant understand how you US-Warc players manage to fail her b&b. Seriously.  :mystery:

-edit:

Oh, that air-combo is like the one you posted sibladeko, only with a jC in the beginning. Keep up the good work, there isnt enough cooperation going on between us Warc-players!

(oh well, time to sleep again. work work work)

Melty Blood Auditorium / Tougeki SBO Qualified Teams etc.
« on: July 25, 2007, 01:42:03 PM »
Well Tougeki-qualifiers are over. So here is a rundown of some of the teams, and how many of each and every character there is that managed to qualify to the finals!

6:  Ren
5:  Tohno
4:  HisuKoha, V.Sion, Satsuki, Aoko, Kouma
3:  Sion Arc Akiha Hisui Miyako Nero Warc AkaAkiha
2:  Ciel
1:  Nanaya, M.Hisui, W.Ren
0:  Kohaku, warakia, nekoarc, nekoarc chaos

Some teams worth mentioning:

ILS (Nanaya) & Shiba (Kouma)
Jin (Hisui) & K-Neko (Warc)
Surume (Tohno) & Hagi (Satsuki)
Hato (AkaAkiha) & Garu (V.Sion)
Yukinose (Akiha) & SII (Arcueid)
Tabi (Sion) & F.T (Miyako)
Kyamei (Hisukoha) & Kouji (Kouma)
Messhii (Hisukoha) & Sawawa (Chaos)
LuckyStar (Chaos) & Mr.PropellarHead (Hisui)
Kubo (Sion) & Bounanarai R (Ren)          (teamname = "Got dumpted by Satoken")
Tsuji Isosu (Warc) & Kou (AkaAkiha)
Shin (Akiha) & JeffreyManson@Ero (Aoko)
K-Ta (Satsuki) & Arinkoarika (Hisukoha)
supa(Chaos) & Kimuchi @ Hagisei (W.Ren)

------------------------

Well, my fav. team is Jin & K-Neko.

And it seems that Satoken either didnt make it (or quit). To bad, I was hoping forward to seing the "new slim Satoken" which was his promise in an interview I saw with him on youtube  :-\

But go go K-Neko, and go go Random White-Ren player!

Red Arcueid / Re: Warcueid (big update, 070423)
« on: July 25, 2007, 12:13:15 PM »
Well, after a groundthrow I at least try to mix it up. Like you said 2B techpunish is great, but problem is if they tech backwards you kinda have to dash and then do 2B, but if you do the dashinput to early you will miss them if the groundteched Forward. What I tend to do is buffer 6, wait to see the direction of their groundtech, then

6 if they tech backwards
- 6, (dash) 2B
- 6, (dash) throw

Nothing if they tech forward
- Throw them again!
- 2B

If you want to ThrowLoop them when they tech forward you have to be pretty fast so its not that safe, or highdmg, of an option, but its really fun to play mindgames with them :)  (record is 4 throws in a row, he groundteched differently each groundteck ^^)

And as for OTG, if you have your back to the corner can can always relaunch into Kärst (ex-623) and do an aircombo, but otherwise I would advice the basic OTG-string into either IAD or 623A/B.

-

Oh, and the B&B works on Warakia. I played a moneymatch in Melty vs a Warakia (and won *yay*) and the B&B worked out just fine. Just the jB faster after your jumpcancels.

Hehe, its okay dude. I didn't really take it as an insult, though reading my post now it sure does seem like it  :P I appreciate the criticism.

Anyways, Caer used his encoding skills to put the vids down to 60mb. So download if you want. Though the u2b-round is probably the most exciting one. Same url as the one posted above.
