Anyone figured out what 214c ex wind is good for?

Unlike what's been said before. It's not safe when blocked on ground. The startup seems pretty unreliable for a reversal (Himes have 623's which are good).

Maybe catching airtechs, but the wind takes a while before it extends all the way up.

Catching airtechs after aircombo by replacing airthrows with j.214b. Could lead to a reset after the ground bounce?  :fap:

j.22b airthrow looks cooler.  :toot:

It seems that JP is using the C/H 5A~2C loop to it's full advantage on the characters that it can be performed on.
That looks nifty, kinda like F-Arc 2c 236b stuff. Any details on that? If not, guess I will experiment with it.

And can you sandoori with C-Kouma?
Sandoori isn't something that special. A bunch of characters (including all moons of Kouma) do it all the time. Check this post about what sandoori is. This is really important to all Koumas.

Also, a video demonstration some guy made. The stuff with j.[c] is F-Kouma specific. C/H-Kouma can also use air dodge, so they don't necessarily have less options.

F-Kouma

Is this character specifc & retype the sequence for the combo correctly to prevent confusion.

5b 2b 2c 22b xx 623b {(tech punish/OTG into 22b ) xx 623b}

You can repeat the part in { }. Haven't tried out on a human opponent yet, but if it does, this would hurt a lot.

How many times can { } be repeated? Well, the most number 623b's I've done is 3, but I am positive that someone with better execution then me can do it more.

22b into 623b is not character specific (even works on lolis and necos). The OTG string afterward is character-specific... Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what OTG string works on each character. Anyone have an OTG string chart for Kouma?

-----
C-Kouma

I don't know if anyone else tried this out before, but the 5b follow-up after 5b can be charged. When you do that, you pull the opponent back in... In fact, right in the range of 214a! Tick throw anyone?

Possible mixup:
2aa 2b 2c 5b [b ] xx 214a   OR
2aa 2b 2c 5b [b ] 5a

Whoaaa...

When timed well, You can link both 623a and 623b after 2a 5b 2b 2c 22b. This is NOT an invalid combo!

After 623b, you can simply do another 22b to cover back/neutral/no tech. Then, add in another 623b. As for forward tech.... you would have to do some predicting, but if you guess right, you can connect a full BnB anyway.

F-Kouma is now even scarier in corner, lol.

Anyone else been looking into C-Kouma? His overall damage went up because 5BB works more often than not in combos.

Here's a BnB that I patched together. It works everywhere
(2a) 2b 5bb 5c 2c 623a j.bc j.bc airthrow/j.236C

I've also been experimenting with 236C 236C command grab combos, but it seems pretty unreliable (as in you just get to hit not the grab). Hitbox data on that grab might be nice...
(2a) 2b 5b 5c 2c 236c 236c

I tried adding 236a and 236b in between, but 236c always ends up whiffing.

Also, after that 236c blows people to corner (which looks awesome), there's gotta be some good oki/tech punish options. The best I could come up with is either 5b for meaty or 6c for covering both sides.

Is it just me, or do most combos in 1.07, that existed in PS2, feel way easier to execute?

Same feeling here.  I had a lot of trouble executing double 236 combos before in PS2 MBAA, but I can do them pretty regularly on MBAACC.

Btw, I don't have much experience playing Warc, but I am having most fun with F-Warc out of all demo characters. Anyone wanna share some general F-Warc blockstring and oki pressure options? Due to full moon mechanics, her pressure options seem very limited to me.

Few things I did notice are:
- Both 5B and 2B (especially 2B!) move Warc forward A LOT
- Most of her normals seem pretty good on block frame-wise
- If they block 236a fully, you can restart your blockstring from beginning.
- 5a shuts down jump out attempts really well.

Len / Re: [MBAACC] Len Discussion
« on: October 31, 2011, 09:44:46 PM »
No F-Len discussion yet? As far as I can see, F-Len got nothing but buffs with 1.05/1.07 Current Code. Now that Melty Blood fights take place on a trampoline, it's much easier to combo off of horizontal reflectors. (Reflectors combos do delicious amount of damage. :D)

Also, with the new OTG-heavy game physics, there's a lot more opportunity to get good opportunities to set up reflectors.

I am noticing these from gameplay vids, so I don't know what exactly changed. Anyone could help with that?

Kohaku's Video Room / Re: Korea's MBAACC ver.1.05 team battle video

I understood the Korean commentaries. Koreans represent!

Haven't seen Miyakos in a while. (Don't see many Japanese people playing Miyako these days) F-Miyako's damage output is still insane... 6k combo on Ryougi in 3rd video.

Is it just me or Korean players seem to be much more risky and aggressive...

KohaMech could become a more common character with the new version: Check Hato playing KohaMech with pretty good results. :fap:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvhyo-LqpK4

Lol at
- Jetpacks interrupting combos
- Jetpack corner setups
- More jetpacks

It could be that other players have no idea how to counter the "new" character or that KohaMech is actually good. Let's hope the latter is true. Anyone got more vids/movedata for KohaMech in version 1.05 MBAACC?

I don't know much about this character though...  :nyoro:

Reorganized the list and added some people.

My post shouldn't be the ongoing list though... It would be best if psylocke applies these changes to the first post.

Also, I don't think Inoshi plays much F-Nanaya any more if at all.

Considering that a lot of old players are coming back, the list will probably be updated after tougeki.

Necromancing old thread because it's actually a useful thread... This list needs some updating after the SBO.

Quite a lot of changes in main/alts and new players. Here's some I can think of right now:

C-Akiha: Shin
F-Akiha: GO1, Hagi (?)

F-VAkiha: Hato, Kou

F-SAkiha: Bobu

F-Ries: Hagi, Hyonkell, Ashie

C-Kohaku: Oyashiro
H-Kohaku: Garu (didn't see that one coming)

H-Sion (is back at top tier :V): Kiriya, Kamoshio, Maruyan

C-Nanaya: Tama, RMM
H-Nanaya: Surume
F-Nanaya: Ashie

F-Arc: Naya, Ryuuichi

F-Warc: Kyou

C-Aoko: Fuusui

H-Roa: Udonge

C-Ryougi: Mao
F-Ryougi: Leo

Summary - When in doubt, pick a new full moon character... or return to playing H-Sion.

Also, SERIOUS C-Neco player: Yuyumenyan (already on mizuumi wiki but whatever)
and C-NAC player: Luka (beat Kaimaato's godlike F-Kouma... lol?)

Satsuki Yumizuka (Yumiduka) / Re: MBAA Crescent Satsuki Reference

Yeah got the basics done. Working on combos and strat now.

Grrr, I am surprised by how little info about C-Satsuki there are out on internet... especially since she shows up pretty often in japanese match videos. :mystery: Even the Japanese wiki has little about this character (http://wikiwiki.jp/satukiss/)

Weird~~~ things:
1) OTG followup to 623[ B ]

So, the list right now on MBAA wiki is from the Japanese wiki.
> I could not confirm 2 of the OTG options (Probably due to my eternally noobish execution level): 5C with White Len, anything with Len
> OTG options for Miyako, Mech, Ryougi, S.Akiha, Sions (other than 5B)?

In addition, one recent vid shows an interesting... variation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPYMbtSh0Dg#t=2m56s : 5B 2AA 5C 2C  ???)

Your thoughts?

2) Ground combo starter string

5BC 2C 3C 623[A] is the supposedly the "best" but most players just do 5B 2C 3C 623[A]. I am assuming the reason is 5C can put you too far away for 2C for hit twice? Or maybe there is some other issue?

LOL 2 frame link between 623[A] j.[C]... the most essential and the hardest part of learning C-Satsuki. It's starting to slowly burn me from inside.

Ryougi also has lower defense than Neco frigging Arc. Is she that broken? Probably not... If so, best nerf would be giving her lower HP then Neco frigging Arc wtf Chaos.  :psyduck:

I'm still waiting for Neco Nanaya.
Warui nye.

Neco Ryougi is "Legit"

Well, I only remember seeing SF2 once or twice in an arcade, never played it before. I did not like fighting games too much when I was little. (mostly because some random high school/college student would always RAEP me without mercy)

First games that I played and enjoyed were Super Smash Bros was Tekken 3 and, later, Tekken Tag Tournament.

First 2D game was KoF 1998 or 2000 (can't remember exactly). I sucked at it big time. First 2D game I liked was Melty Blood Act Cadenza  :toot:

Thanks for the welcome, ehrik.

For a final touch you could give every char/moon combo a number, so that anyone too lazy to print out and use a dartboard can instead consult the great wisdom of an RNG.

Except RNG is usually not completely random. Nice board, however. Every Melty fans need one on their walls. *print*

Thank you for all the input! To the first question: for now, I think I want to have fun while getting better. Maybe later, I will be able to play to WIN.

What I was worried about the most is that I will end up playing a character that is not necessarily "right" for me but just brain-dead simple to play for anyone (like most Nanaya/Tohno Shiki variants. I think F-S.Akiha also falls into this category.)

I thought I would lean toward crescent moon because of its similarity to MBAC, but it turns out that a lot of characters I like are Full Moon. :mystery: As for half moon... long combos are long.

Tried my best MBAC character Kouma, but I can't get j.[C] timing for the life of me. The new anti-air grab was delicious, though.

For now, I think I might want to grind that practice mode with F-Arcueid. I am having a lot of trouble with hectic half moon combos, but I can surprisingly time links pretty well. It might have to do with music...

« on: October 22, 2010, 05:45:31 PM »
Not sure if this topic fits here, but...

How do you know when you've found the character that's just right for you?

In MBAC, there were small number of characters, so it was possible to just try playing with every character and then see which one felt the most comfortable.
In MBAA, with two more characters (and even more, if counting chars like Mech/Neco) and three moons for every character, this process is pre....tty tedious.

Sure, I guess I could just play characters with strong zoning / strong rushdown / strong mixup ... and so on, but sometimes I can be surprised by how well I can play a character that does not fit my "game style." When plating MBAC, I originally focused on Arcueid. Then, I tried playing Kouma once for fun, and... surprise! I quickly became attached to his grab-poke mixup and superarmor, and improved tremendously playing Kouma.

Some say just pick character I like the most. Eh... that would be Satsuki in MBAC, but no matter how much I practiced with Satsuki, I was mediocre at best with her....

I am currently trying whole bunch of different characters in MBAA.... Any advice?

Akiha's Tea Room / Re: What kind of music do you listen to?
« on: October 22, 2010, 05:15:31 PM »
All of us listen to Melty background music, of course, while playing the frigging game. MBAA music is on decent side, you gotta admit.

My taste in music is quite random, kind of shows how different I can be under different moods.

First of all, real Asians from Asia can't really be weeaboos (perversion of wapanese = white japanese), so I won't refer to myself as such  :V. I don't really listen all that much to anime themes anyway. Most of them are pretty overrated (applies to many music pop celebrities, ugh. What Ultima66 wrote has A LOT of truth).

Japanese artists that I do actually like:
kalafina (did music for Kara no Kyoukai and other animes, unique and great harmony), YUI (I like her strong yet clear voice)

Other than these, I listen to classical, techno, German rock, and retro video game musics (for nostalgia values).

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: The MB:AA:CC thread: Current Code
« on: October 18, 2010, 07:02:13 PM »
Eh... Comparing worth of fighting games by the story background doesn't really work.

I guess that takes away some of the merits of Melty?? On the other hand, Blazblue seems to have a kickass story, but I don't play it because I just don't like the gameplay. So, there we go.

Here's something more curious: Where do the Japanese GET all these weird Engrish phrases? Current Code, Tri Hermes Black Land... even if I go out my way to come up with the most bizarre English phrases, I would lose to genius minds of Type Moon/Ecole. :mystery:

(off topic: I, a newbie on this forum, have no idea what people's magic circuits are and what they mean by "+heat"... some sort of Meltybread thing?)
