Michael Roa Valdamjong / Re: Roa Video Thread

For this to work the same way as the above fuzzies, the hits should be able to confirm if the opponent is crouching - after a successful fuzzy, the opponent's sprite is hit high while in blockstun, and then switched to crouching in hitstun. So you'll need a good downward sloping attack a la Len j2c. Not sure if Roa has what it takes to confirm it.

Okay, then maybe not exactly the same as those fuzzies, but just as a whole lot of overheads stringed together that's kinda hard to see and react to?

Yeah cuz ppl's just gonna stand there waiting for you to do a rejump on them.

That's cool and all, but can't be used in real battle.
And Roa has always been able to do decent dmg but it depends on other things, Like C can do a lot more dmg if you actually use lightning orbs. So yeah.... ZzZzZz

IMO, it is somewhat doable in a normal match. Isn't it the same as Arc's fuzzy/kamone where she goes deep jbjc double jump jcj2b or Len's deep jbjc double jump jcj2c or something? Could work as an interesting WTF double/triple overhead move that could work once in a while.

._.

I can't even open pcsx2o. <.< Something with the MSCVR100.dll error with the entry point not being found. <_<

Oh, well, I think I'll have to wait 2 more months.

Did you install the original PCSX2?

Currently been trying with my friends who are all close to each other. Currently tried at delay 1, 2 and 3.

Delay 1 has some really small delay for the player who is joining, host side is totally smooth.

Delay 2 some minor delays for both players but overall still good, precision combos would be hard to connect.

Delay 3 a slight increase in delay for both players but nothing too game breaking.

My view overall is that this implementation is excellent !  :prinny:

How did you set the delay?

All things considered though it's better than anything French Bread is ever gonna do anyway, and it can only get better since satori still wants to work on it.

Aw come on, you haven't seen French Bread work on any netplay at all, there's no reason to assume they'll eff it up.

155
Well, I've tested with Hamachi and it works like a charm. Almost. Is there any way to set the delay?

156
Thanks for the reply. Right now, we are both at the "memory card loaded" page. But neither of our button presses did anything.

Another question, is IRC or Hamachi required? Because it seems that direct IP doesn't work so well right now...

157
Yeah, mine slowed down to a stagnant 4fps too. Seems like we were too impatient. Trying again now.

158
For those who could get it to work, how much latency were you facing? When I tried it, I got a black screen for the longest time and my tester and I deduced that this netplay wasn't suitable for high latency... or is it?

Would playing this at 30-40ms latency be possible?

159
I just tried using a stick I bought a long time ago but neglected using because of giving up but recently picked up again because this thread has sparked my interest in trying again. And I just found a neat tip for anyone having trouble with special inputs.

In the case below, I was trying to input a 214B but just couldn't get it to come out right and almost always getting 2B instead. I turned input display on and here's what I got:

In the case on the left, it shows that I pressed the B button a teeny weeny bit too early, during when I input the 1 direction, which resulted in the 4 direction in the 214 to not be read. This causes the game to read the input as 21B, not a complete 214B, and a 21B results in just 2B, thus F-ing up everything up.

To solve this, I delayed my B button press a teeny weeny bit which resulted in my button press to be right when (or after) I input 4, resulting in a complete 214B, as shown in the case on the right.

Hope this helps someone.

That H-Miyako impresses me. In PS2 version, she already had so many tools, and CC just improved them further. Good stuff.

I find the animations and sprites rather rigid. Like it's still very doujin.

Why not go 2A 2B 5BB to start it? Doesn't it prorate better? Might pick up an extra hundred damage or whatnot.

If you want max damage do 2A 5C 2B 5BB 2C

does more damage than 2A 2B 5BB even though it's an extra reverse beat

2A 5C 2B 5BB 2C 5A 236Ax3 2A 2C 5C 5BB j.BC dj.BC j.236B - 4508 on Ciel.

2A 2B 5BB 5C 2C 5A 236Ax3 2A 2C 5C 5BB j.BC dj.BC j.236B - 4467 on Ciel.

tbh, I do meaty 2A 5C most of the time I have a meaty

Range-wise, which combination is possible from the furthest distance?

The 2A2B link is tighter than 2A5B, I find. Good timing is required, can't mash 2A into 2B.

I've tested before on MBAA PS2. Airdash airthrow in the corner will put you further from the opponent. In MBAC, the forward momentum used to put you closer, but now it seems that the slight altitude you get from the airdash in MBAA PS2 will put you further. Anywhere else midscreen, however, gives you forward momentum and carries you and your opponent closer to the corner, potentially giving better oki later on.

Of course, now that 1.05 is out...

My guess is that if you trade with the first hit of a projectile the rest of the hits won't cause auto spark.

That can be true, but Arc already recovered from the trade and blocked the Arc Drive. Then she tried to jump but got hit during startup and didn't spark.

Arc enters Heat -> Arc trades 5a with Arc Drive -> Arc recovers -> Arc manages to block Arc Drive -> Arc gets pushed away and tries to jump -> Arc gets caught in jump startup and gets hit by multi-hit Arc Drive -> Arc Drive ends (moves away from screen) and Len follows-up with combo

I'm wondering why during those bolded time-slots why didn't Arc autospark.

But after Arc got hit with the 5a trade, she recovered and blocked Len's Arc Drive but got hit eventually. Why didn't Arc autospark when being hit by the Arc Drive? Well, it could have something to do with the Arc Drive hitting very rapidly, but even during Len's follow-up after the Arc Drive, no spark?

Sorry to break the seriousness, but...

Why didn't H-Arc auto-spark?

That C-Nero was awesome. And seems like H-Sacchin has a BE jB.

EDIT: And the spike ball isn't an overhead. I saw the C-Nero block it low.

So what change did they make to 3c that caused the sweep loop to be impossible?
