Shiki Nanaya / Re: Nanaya MBAA Thread (C/H/F Moon)
« on: October 03, 2008, 04:55:03 PM »
So far, it looks like Half Moon AD is a cross between his AD and AAD in MBAC since he says "chobi hassen", conjures a shadow and goes really far but does only one hit. Maybe this is how the makers compensate for the lack of AADs in HM since there is no Blood Heat.

Gah, I hate the new Shiki. Dumb copy.

http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=gDhqAMqdcs4&feature=user 2:17
What happened? Seems like Shiki threw Akiha while she was auto-sparking.

And not sure if this has been mentioned before, but in the same video at 7:03, seems like Ciel's projectiles can now be deflected. I've seen another sample of this before that happened to KohakuH. I think it was her charged 5C that shot a knife out from her broom (not sure) and it kept getting deflected back at her, actually hitting her and causing damage. Can't remember which video it was.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but:

http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=CZaLMRbXiFk&feature=user 00:20 Seems like doing 41236C during Heat in HM results in an AAD instead of regular AD.

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere:

7:10 - Maxed Full Moon Kouma using Immediate(?) Heat.

The entire animation lasts just a few frames. Instant health regeneration. Possibly unpunishable.
It's hard to say anything else about it just from that.

Wth? A bug? The game is considerably new. Otherwise there's just no proper explanation.

Edit: http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=ugKKxQWzD9I&feature=user 10:10 Seems like the super fast rate of healing in HM can be intercepted.

Regarding the Dust of Osiris, seems like we've got a new G666 mode to fool around with.

Seems like she's got a lot to do with Warakia. And the song during the credits was awesome.

Gosh, I'm totally hyping over Nanaya.

It seems like you have to charge the 22b to teleport over the opponent. You can see that spark that comes out when you charge an attack.

Seems like Roa's Last Arc saps health. But as if it'll ever be used in actual games anyways.

I actually see style strengths to be more character-specific. F-Sion looks just as tough and maybe even better than her mbac form. F-Nero sounds like a beast as well. Nanaya might be better off with Crescent, etc.

Actually overall, F-Moon looks like the stronger style to me. You can live without reverse beats anyway.
Perhaps for some characters (though I still think C will always be a bit better), but there are a lot of them that need their whiff cancels.

You only need whiffs mainly for:
1. Extending combos
2. Keeping the pressure. Though it's better to do this while outside sweep range as you can get punished if you whiff too close.

F-Moon style is more like your more traditional fighter without the reverse beat. And higher damaging specials make up for the added hits done by reverse beating.

If I'm right, doesn't Nanaya need those whiff cancels? Otherwise he loses a really good pressure game. Unless they make up for it with uber awesome specials and other stuff.

concerning Shield into Last Arcs-
didnt i already mention this like WEEKS AGO?

the reason why it isn't overpowered and F-Moon is bleh-
Last Arc- It does fairly average damage.
Blood Heat, no recoverable life.

I think you're wrong about the Blood Heat. The vids show that when you activate it, your red life is instantly recovered but it won't slowly recover after you get hit again.

Naturally, all these styles have their pros and cons. It's up to the player's preference to decide which to use and if he ends up using H-Moon and beats you to a pulp while you're using other styles you're noone to say that H-Moon is noob. We'll decide if it's truly shit when we're actually able to play it.

What's so wrong with the keyboard? I use it and I can imagine it's tougher to use the controller ie for 22 inputs. If you're used to it, you'll play just as well as anyone else who uses controller/stick.

Guard meter turning colors is prolly it being weakened.  At normal color the guard bar damage taken would be less, and when very red it would take more.  You know what I mean?

Also, Warc's EX-Teleport may be considered a throw, which might be why he didn't spark.

Yea, I know what you mean. I didn't consider that effect.

If anyone cares about the little touches, here's one. Pay attention to the clock. There are 2 rings around it. One rotates regularly. The other does a quarter rotation every 10 seconds.

I've also been paying attention to the Guard Meter. Seems like it's got 2 "layers" like the health bar; at some moments it turns darker. Either that or my monitors going nuts. One thing I noticed from the WLen and Roa vid is that a whiffed shield will turn the Guard Meter darker immediately. Not sure what this does. Also, in the MHisui vs VAkiha vid, Mhisui did 2 whiffed shields and the bar turned red (1:05:). It gradually turned back to green/blue/bluegreen.

I'm quite sure about this. The Guard Meter, like everybody now knows, goes down when you block with the exception of blocking at the perfect moment. After you stop blocking, it doesn't fill up straight away. It fills up after you get hit, meaning it doesn't go up while you're getting bashed in the middle of a combo, but when the combo ends, it starts filling. If you block while it's filling, it'll stop. A successful shield will cause the Guard Meter to also fill up slowly. And regarding the Sion vs Aoko vid, it seems like Sion's whip move (0:53) immediately fills up the bar to full. Btw, this vid proves that airthrows are still doable in Full-Moon (1:52).

In Half-Moon, I think some attacks won't cause you to auto-spark while you're in Heat. Look at the Warc vs Shiki vid. Shiki didn't spark during Warc's EX-Teleport (2:15).

ZOMG M-HISUI IS EVIL!!111

Sion's found herself a whole new BnB now.

Warc and Aoko sound different.

Roa has a new Hiero. We all shall die.

Actually, in most cases Nanaya's Last Arc doesn't do half life bar damage. I've done it plenty of times on people with like 1/3 life left but it doesn't finish them off. I think it's very easily influenced by proration.

And nice pic.

Gah, M-Hisui has more zoning.

I think those things that Roa has are like Sion's bullets. So maybe Roa has a limited number of traps he can set.

Kohaku's Video Room / Re: NAC last arc bait
« on: August 10, 2008, 09:55:21 PM »
I've faced that many times before. You don't need NAC, if Nrvnqsr Ex-Shields an IAD air attack, he'll do his LA and the opponent will either fly over him because of the momentum or perfectly land at the very place Nrvnqsr is at. After the LA, the other fella will pop next to Nrvnqsr. If it weren't for this, I'd have beaten my friend twice with LA Finishes T_T

Lol, to make up for his overly far range for other attacks.

Aerial summons seem REALLY interesting. More air spammage like M-Hisui.

Satsuki Yumizuka (Yumiduka) / What to do after 623B
« on: July 05, 2008, 02:45:32 AM »
Since Sacchin's BnBs are quite character-specific, I thought I'd experiment with all the characters and see what you can do after the 623B. All this is done in MBAC PC ver1.03b. Tests are based on this BnB:

2A 5B 2C 5C 623B (?) 623C 2C 5C airthrow

Use the list below to fill in the brackets with the command(s) based on the character you're facing.

All OTG 2Cs are 2 hits except for Shiki, Nanaya, VAkiha and probably other people I didn't notice. A OTG 2C will result in only 1 hit for some reason.

Midscreen
5B- All but Ciel, Miyako, Len, WLen (they just whiff through), Neco-Arc, NAC (you can't connect afterwards)
2B- Shiki, Arc, Ciel, Wara, Nanaya, Kouma, Sacchin, Nero
5C- Shiki, Arc, Ciel, Wara, Nanaya, Kouma, Sacchin, Nero
2C- Shiki, Ciel, Wara, Nanaya, Kouma, Miyako, Sacchin, Nero
5B2B- Shiki, Wara, Nanaya, Kouma, Sacchin, Nero
5B2C- Shiki, Wara, Nanaya, Kouma, Sacchin, Nero

2B5B, 2B5C, 2B2C, 5C5B, 5C2B, 5C2C, 2C5B, 2C2B, and 2C5C can't/shouldn't be used against anyone. The 623C can't connect after.

Corner (anywhere where the OTGed opponent's movement will be restricted by the corner)
5B- All but Ciel, Miyako, Len, WLen, Neco-Arc and NAC
2B- All but Miyako, Hisui, Len, WLen, Kohaku, MHisui and Necos
5C- All but Miyako, Hisui, Len, WLen, Kohaku, MHisui and Necos
2C- Aoko, Shiki, Arc, Ciel, Wara, Nanaya, Kouma, Miyako, Sacchin, Nero
5B2B- All but Ciel, Miyako, Len, WLen, Necos
5B2C- All but Ciel, Miyako, Len, WLen, Necos
2B2C- Aoko, Shiki, Ciel, Wara, Nanaya, Kouma, Miyako, Sacchin, Nero
5C2B- Wara alone
5C2C- Aoko, Shiki, Ciel, Wara, Nanaya, Kouma, Miyako, Sacchin, Nero
2C5B- All but Shiki, Nanaya, VAkiha, Necos
2C5C- Ciel, Wara, Kouma, Sacchin, Nero

5B5C, 2B5B, 2B5C, 5C5B and 2C2B should not be attempted.

My execution isn't top-notch so I may have slipped up a combo that could be possible on a character. I haven't attempted 3 attacks nor combos with 1 hit 2Cs. I'll update when I feel like it or when someone discovers something and tells me.

Notes
1)When fighting Necos, abandon all BnBs or switch character. You can't connect 623Cs after OTGs.
2)Len and WLen seem only to be hittable in corners using 2C5B. ONLY. Unless someone proves me wrong, which I hope.
3)IIRC, 5Cs do the most damage as OTGs.

Please test these out for yourselves and if I made any mistakes (which should be plenty) post in this thread.
