No one other than moderators and admins can currently post in the Melty Bread Article Discussion forum, which makes it somewhat difficult to discuss the articles.

Beginning of round: Build a huge advantage in life.
End of round: Blow said huge lead and lose.

Holla.

Players that just brag about how good they are from a tourney with only 4 people is kind of lol...
There were 14 people at the last tournament.

not sure if this has been brought up already, seeing as I am a lzay reader, but Arly, could we get images in our signatures?
I'm pretty sure this was explicitly decided against.

Either $25 for the day or fifty cents per game for most games (anything outside of the music game room, pretty much). I think there's a free game of bowling in the flat rate too or something silly.

I'm probably heading up to TGA this Sunday (4/1), anyone who wants to get some games in just holla.

932
But also, maybe I just have a little too much pride that I would never let a competitive Smash player defeat me at one of my own games, which would uphold my little theory I have about them.
See, this I don't get.

I don't really care if they come from playing Smash Brothers, Virtua Fighter, Tetris, or just picked up the game because they like Akiha's delicious flat chest. Whoever is better is better, regardless of their background.

It seems like you have a problem with some combination of their God-given talent and the inherent weakness in the scene.

933
When TGA isn't located someplace in the asshole of America that requires public transportation + driving to get to then you won't see junk like this or their 3s tourneys happen.
Those are some fighting words, Sp00ky. :V

In other news, from a random post on TGA's forum from Pestazoid:

I don't know which to go to the smash tourney that Korean[DJ] is going to have or the TGA tourney which has MB:AC and stupidly good food ahhhh the decisions. I hate when things that I love are on the same date son.

Lame.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: MBAC - Full Movelists
« on: March 28, 2007, 10:40:03 PM »
Is there any sort of MB:AC wiki that I can read detailed information about each character and combos?
No.

935
Ruko: People are playing pretty much the entire time there.

I already PMed you about getting you to TGA (and back), but apparently you aren't interested?

936
Well then, get out there, and WIN! Don't let it happen again. >:(
The problems are two-fold:

1) I'm not very good at the game. Even in a neutral situation, I would be nothing more than a small favorite against someone like JJuice or Korean DJ.

2) I have a tendency to come up small in the biggest situations. Counting on me to do much of anything is just asking for failure.

:emo:  :emo:  :psyduck:  :emo:  :emo:

937
How do you people not hate me for all this? Well, everyone other than Harman.

Hell, I hate myself for letting it happen. :emo:

938
I get the feeling they're on smashboards saying how MBAC is so easy to pick up and start beasting.

ps melty blood is trash super easy trash I SAID IT

Quote from: Bchun
who said that shit melty blood is to easy i ranked top 8 at nec and i started playin the day before its to easy lol

Quote from: Echoes of PAIN
Quote from: ill_will
what i am thinking now is that the problem with MB is that its so easy to pick up that scrubs can compete at most levels what I think is missing from MB I think is that there must be a sort of game changing strategy that noone has hit yet that will just completely change up the whole dynamic of the game.
like honestly with MB all I did was throw it into training mode and figure out a couple combos and block strings and throw setups and see how the parry timing works and i can compete
really i wanna see some of the mb crew get me with some hot shit so i get my mind changed about the game.

copy and paste for speaking DA TRRRRRUTHHHHH!!!!

Yeah. It's from SRK, but whatever.

The results keep being random, with two new people (KoreanDJ and Spic Tom, local SSBM players from MA) winning the last ranbat. However, this tournament was absent some of the region's best players (and not so best), so this tournament should have different results yet again.

Who will win? :mystery:

For Sp00ky/Zar/Chibi: This event is two weeks before Showdown Championships, not one.

Address:
"Tokyo Game Action"
5 Summer Dr.
Winchendon, Massachusetts 01475

Date & Time:
Saturday, April 14th, 2007

$20 dollar cover ($5 dollar increase from last time; this is a one-time change)
$2 to enter most tournaments (3S is $5)

Melty Blood is part of the lineup here, starting at 7 PM. The tournament is run on ver.B arcade cabinets, whoop whoop.

Other games being run:

Capcom vs SNK 2
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection
Hyper Street Fighter II: Anniversary Edition
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core
Marvel vs Capcom 2

Rules:

-DOUBLE ELIMINATION! Best 2 out of 3.
-Winners and Losers Finals will be best 3 out of 5.
-Grand Finals will still be 3/5 (only game like this :V).
-You are not obliged to stick with the same character throughout the ENTIRE tournament. You may switch up at anytime except when you win a match. If you lost a match or your about to face a new opponent, you may choose to stick with the same character you've been using or another character.
-If you lose, you can change your team/character. Winner must stick with the same character until he loses.
-There are to be NO GAME FREEZING GLITCHES IN ANY GAME. If you do I'm going to kick your ass! (And by I, I mean Gavin) Plain and simple.

Brackets are seeded based on prior performance. The current (unoffical) rankings:

t1st) Zar (10)
t1st) KoreanDJ (10)
t3rd) FecalPenance (7)
t3rd) Pestazoid (7)
5th) JJuice (6)
t6th) Dipstick (5)
t6th) ill will (5)
8th) Master Chibi (3)
9th) Tinshi (1)

Unrakned players (or anyone out of the top 4? 8?) will be randomly seeded.

Directions:

From 95 North, take EXIT 6B towards 495 North.

- From 495 N, take EXIT 29B, then that'll be Rt.2 WEST. (20-30 min drive)

- From Rt. 2 W, take EXIT 24B, then tha'll be Rt.140 NORTH. (10-15 min drive)

- From Rt. 140 N, keep going straight down for about 15 min.

- Eventually you are going to run on a little bridge with a pond on your right, from there take a RIGHT onto Beech Street.

- At the end of Beech St., take a right onto 5 Summer Dr. and you'll see our beloved Tokyo Game Action.

Sadly, they took the video equipment out of MB:AC and stuck it in CvS2. Who the hell plays CvS2? :( Hopefully someone will bring a camcorder and record on their own.

« on: March 17, 2007, 08:32:19 AM »
Just to be a nit: Shields are not considered a special attack. Successful shields are special and shield cancelable. If a shield was considered a special attack, you could cancel nearly every normal in the game into a shield, which would lead to... not a whole lot.

XAQshinor: That's why Americans don't play Arc. You would think they were doing an impersonation of me.  :V

I'm Fucking the cat.

Fixed.

Hay guys I'm Duppy, also known as the worst Melty Blood player on the east coast, a sad emo who cuts down the street (), and bellreisa's punching bag. I also hate you all. Really.

So, uh... what's good?

945
This is absolutely happening.

Unfortunately, neither I nor most of the NYC players will be able to make it. I've heard that one of them (tinshi) is going (he's that much of a 3S fiend, but also plays a lot of MB with Zar and Sp00ky). I think a bunch of the GG players are also trying to learn it, to various degrees (they've asked me multiple times to come up to TGA when they go, but I've never been able to make it. :\)

You should go; TGA is a very interesting place.

I bought the game and i have a slim PS2 with swapdisks but I'm not in the area ; ;

Ruko, where in MA are you?

This may or may not have any bearing on anything.
Holliston ; ;

That is about half an hour out from me.

Since I know your traveling ability is limited, would you ever be willing to host?

1) The rolleyes emote on here is broken. The code for it just produces a colon followed by the smiley face. Maybe it's only broken in the quick edit (clicking on it produces ::) ).

2) I request more emotes, specifically these:

(for me)

(for Sacchin Toast)

<bellreisa> just wait until you get #holygrail and a legion of fate fanboys posting about their TOP TEER SHIROU STRATZ with an obnoxious anime sig featuring photoshopped versions of the game CG put through a lens flare filter and colored text that reads "~ I am the Bone of My Sword... ~"

I can't wait! :V So where do I sign up to join the Scrub Saber army?

This isn't coming out for another year and I already know the most popular paring is going to be Saber/Rin, shippit holla.
