UMBC should be closer to Philly by about an hour. Or an hour further, from Front Royal.

what's the ideal shield counter combo? It's hard to get much.

I've just been trying 2C>214X into air combo, F moon. The damage is so nerfed on the shield counter that I think any combo is fine as long as you hit the airthrow. Or just not do a combo at all and let them fall for the knockdown, and do dash over mixups.

oh, half moon? I think then 236BC might mean to do the roll followup. shrug, I only dabble in C and H moons.

(dunno why the MB community use such ambiguous notation)

shrug, hits overhead. but you don't get anything else without 100% for 236C, or max for the IH.

I never do it unless I have 100%, so I can kara-cancel it to 236C, if I spot someone trying to counter-poke

"That's what we like to call big damage!"

"A beautiful example in the art of the combination attack"

nevermind

3139-4356
2A-B-C>214B>j.[C]>dj.C-6C, land, j.[C]>dj.C>AT

Does more unreduced damage then #3, and does more reduced damage then #2. Problem solved, the harder combo wins.

"That's what we like to call big damage!"

All on Akiha, standing. Using F-Ries

##
all reduce - no reduce
combo

#1
2599-3634
2A-B-C>214B>j.C-6C, land, j.C>dj.C>AT

#2
3052-3989
2A-B-C>214B>j.[C]-6C, land, j.[C]>dj.C>AT

#3
2755-4232
2A-B-C>214B>j.B-C>dj.B-C>AT

#3 does more damage, unreduced. While #2 does more reduced damage. I guess #2 would be the combo to do, since we can only expect people to get better and better at reducing damage.

edit: also, why do people always list the unreduced damage, as if reducing doesn't exist?

Tie-Dye Hisui, let's go!

I'm the same as the guy above me, except I might not have to try as hard.

wait, you saying you live in MD or SoVA?

I'm going to be at C3 Tomorrow with Blueshirt, bringing an MBAA setup, please come and play with me ;-;

lol, if you posted in the md thread on dustloop, I would of saw this and I might of went, along with other people. Though the irony is that even though we didn't go to c3 cause we didn't care about street fighter 4, when we all met up else where, we ended up playing just sf4 anyways.

I tried using B rekkas off the 2C and the 2nd rekka still whiffs.

I just did AAA2AB2B2C>236B>236B and it connected. I guess it's a gravity thing? But that still doesn't explain how he connected the rekkas off just a 2B2C

edit: oh wait, he probably delayed the first rekka after 2C. I guess I'll give it a shot.

edit again: ah, yeah. delay it.  :emo:

anyone try the first combo that the Kouma player does in this vid?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOVXcYgn0qI

2B-2C>236A>236A>236[C], 2A...

I'm in training mode trying to do this on Akiha, but the 2nd rekka keeps whiffing under her. Am I missing something, or practice more noob?

Check your PM for neat strats on playing dat Melty in Maryland.

« on: August 21, 2009, 08:52:04 PM »
With F-Ryougi, in/near the corner, you can do ...3C>tk.236B, land, j.B...

It feels a tad bit easier to connect the j.B, then from a straight up 3C. You can also land and connect with a 5A or 5B, but for some reason the game won't let me jumpcancel any ground normals after the 3C>tk.236B.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: PS2 MBAA Arcade->Original Balance Changes

Also...I think the command buffer was upped back to 12f. I haven't been this upset about execution errors since MBAC ps2...and that also had 12f buffer iirc.

just to clear some stuff up, you saying the buffer change is in original mode or the ps2 port as a whole?
