Well, it's not like there's anything inherently wrong with holding tournaments at AI but a couple of issues have to be addressed before someone steps up to the plate and goes along with this.

1. Different cabinet please. Preferably a head to head, but since I don't think that's feasible with the amount of room in there, a real showcase. Something big and wide so that I can fit my ass next to other people without elbowing them in the face. This is a personal gripe, but I'm not going to enter any tournaments down there when I know my execution will be skewed because the only way I'll fit is by facing the token machine.

2. Coordinate with the management. Not only do you need permission from the owner but a number of other things have to be taken care of. Fliers need to be put up so that the locals will know, and perhaps draw a number of people who don't even want to participate but want to watch. Sticks and buttons need to be in top condition on tournament day. Hell, if the machine can be moved for that one day to accommodate the larger number of people showing up that's way better.

3. Coordinate with the wider community. Always watch out for other tournaments occurring on the same day. I know it didn't happen this time, but since all the Interface players are also 3rd strike players, what if everyone had gone to the Cal Poly tournament? Three people would have shown up? Well, I guess it would have been easier to distribute the prize money.

Also, many of us have run tournaments before, large or small. If you're not completely sure of your plan, then talk it over with someone. I'm sure anyone who is driving out there already wouldn't mind helping to run it as long as they were asked in advance. Don't wait until gametime to start asking people. Five minutes of preparation can save hours of embarrassment.

That being said, I wouldn't mind going out to a properly run AI tournament nor would I mind helping run one. I think that with collaboration from everyone we can put aside yesterday's incident and move forward with the growth of the Arcade Infinity Melty Blood scene. After all, it'll still be a little while before FFA has Champion Edition.

well put.  now after all the ranting i put you through last night was just how steamed i was.  i'm sorry and take some things back but it would be way better if you left it in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing.  i dont care if you hate me until i die just get things together and make sure everyone knows whats goin on.

yea once we do get ver.b correction edition at ffa we will run it there since ffa is pretty much known for competitive fighting games.

107
IF is the brother/sister arcade of FFA.
It is a mix between an arcade and a netcafe
we are using my ps2 and it's usually for private use only.

You are welcome to join us if you want.

108
gonna play casuals.
or should i play SSBM

109
you don't have to enter the tournament.
there will be plenty of casuals.

noone money was given back and everyone left.
zantua u are fuckin  prick u fake ass  bitch also u are fuckin liar i gave back the money fuck off
 >:(

yea that comment was vague but the one before it was saying who won?

it was supposed to be nobody won and everyone got their money back.

i went thinking it was gonna be a good experience, arly kinda insisted for me to go as well.
but when we got there it was definitely a huge disappointment.  we will drop by at AI from time to time, but not for tournaments run by you.  so just calm your retarded ass down and be a good little boy or else i might have to slap a bitch.

111
Hi jess!!!  You should come and just play for fun.

It's up to you if you want to make cookies for Wednesday.

112
dont even call it a ranbat.  wait a year or so where it makes a scene then throw a ranbat.
the tournament was poorly run.  i suggest dont go to any of the tournaments run by him it will not turn out well.

113
yea it would but i recognize that name anywhere

114
i deleted my account and pretty sure wasnt planning on creating a new one until one incident last night.
but i guess im back cuz of that.  zantua's the name im trying to learn tohno akiha,  i also play nanaya and sacchin but not that well.

yea i was very disappointed in the sticks and buttons.
buttons were way too sensitive and the sticks kinda felt iffy

120
no that's one of our friends.  he was here when you guys left.
but yea everything would be basically on schedule
also we have arly who can run brackets.
i mean i could just we should have someone who is more experienced with the arcade scene doing it.

oh wait. after i gave the bracket to him and we left people got their money back and went home.

well shinsengumi was well worth it.
sleep to shinsengumi, eat, get to AI, get taiyaki and strawberry juice from genki, tournament, sleep on the way back.

everything was good except the tournament.
