I imagine it'l get patched within a week if theres anything majorly wrong.

But unfortunately it won't be ready for this event, so I'll still be missing my clash frames T.T.

Noone on this site plays melty blood, why would I bother posting it here?  ::)

Yeah, so uh...I'll be running it just like last time...except hopefully some more people.  Only had 12 last time, lets get back to 20!

Also, I thought the PC version was coming out before this?(end of June)  Do I have my release date wrong, was it delayed, or am I just nutty?

Don't worry about the ranbat points if you don't care.  Just forget they are even there~

Bonus ranbat points for this one are +6 for first, +3 for second, +1 for third.  This is on top of the 1 for entering, 2 for seventh, +1 for each place higher.

Current ranking.  Just like last time, top 8(who are there on time) get seeded, ties broken randomly, everyone else is randomed.
1)Xaq - 17
2)Damian - 12
3)Chibi - 10
4)Andrew - 7
4)Zaelar - 7
6)Buri - 3

6)Dippy - 3
9)Rich - 2

9)Desert Coffin - 2
9)Nas - 2

I have very low expectations, but I am going to push to at least get MB recognized as a possable candidate for an official evo game.

I need to figure out how much I can save up in the next couple of months, how much the trip to Vegas is costing me, and how much Chibi is willing to spend on this, then I'll figure out exactly what I'm going to be capable of doing.  Wether it's a couple barebone laptops with ps2 converters, a projector, a guaranteed prize, or something else is yet to be determined.

We've gotten 20 at a local in NYC, so 50 at a major shouldn't sound unreasonable.  They key part is that we need members of the community that are willing to travel.  Just going to a local every month or so, whatever major is closest to you for the year, and the King of tournaments, evo world, is enough.

I'm scheming something up...a Melty Blood Ranbat Masters Tournament!  (Nothing finalized, just ideaing)Right now my idea is something along the lines of right after the fifth ranbat, the top some people by ranbat ranks and the highest placed person or two at the tournament not at the top of the ranbat get to play in this invitation only free entree tournament.  Single elimination, one game, 3/5 rounds, and I'll put some money down for a prize.  Again, nothing is in stone yet, but I'll be trying to get something like this to happen.

I have big plans for MB at evo.  I'm not quite sure what they are yet though.  I'm considering getting a laptop and a projector and having it a big screen showcase on the wall or something.  Also thinking of throwing money at this to get more entrees.  My current goal is 50 entrees.

Tournament Results / Re: Evo East Results

Edit: As far as I know, nothing was recorded, so no vids.

12 Entrees.  2/3 rounds, 2/3 games/match(3/5 for wlg), $5 entree.  Big thanks to Chibi and anyone assisting Chibi in getting us two setups to run this.  I wasn't feeling the greatest and him taking care of the grunt work really helped.  Thanks to everyone that helped look for people who were up too.

First round, Damian, Andrew, BBhood, and Buri were randomly selected to recieve a bye.  Xaq beats Hyperhal, Chibi, beats Mryagashin, Zaelar beats Jamie, and Chaz beats Tony B..  Second round, Xaq defeats Damian, Chibi defeats Andrew, Zaelar defeats BBhood, and Chaz defeats Buri.  In semi-finals, Xaq defeats chibi, and Zaelar defeats Chaz.  Xaq defeats Zaelar in winners finals.

In losers first round, Jamie beats Andrew, Damian beats Tony B., Hyperhal beats Bury, and BBhood beats Mryagashin.  In second round Jamie eliminates Damian, and BBhood eliminates Hyperhal for 7th.  In the next tier, Jamie eliminates Chaz, and Chibi eliminates BBhood for 5th.  In losers semi-finals, Jamie eliminates Chibi in 4th.  In losers finals, Zaelar defeats Jamie, and finally, Xaq defeats Zaelar again in the grand finals to take first.

Final Results:

1)Xaq (Arc)
2)Zaelar (Ciel)
3)Jamie (Nero)
4)Chibi (Hisui)
5)Chaz (HisuKoha)
5)BBhood (Arc)
7)Damian (Ciel)
7)Hyperhal (Bluewig)
9)Andrew (Ciel)
9)Tony B. (HisuKoha)
9)Buri (Miyako)
9)Mryagashin (Kohaku)

Great job Jamie with leveling up Chaos.  I seriously think you could become one of the best MB players in the country if you keep practicing.

Edit: As far as I know, nothing was recorded, so no vids.

12 entrees.  More details later.  Big plans for evo vegas.  BLOW SHIT UP!!!  I'm looking to get MB as an official game for evo next year.

I just watched it.  That is totally andrew's ciel.  It defenitly isn't my ciel or damian's ciel, so unless there was a 4th ciel who plays like andrew, it had to be him.

Andrew is the tall black guy, incase you're thinking of someone else.

Also, how can someone be in two rounds in the first round of the tournament?  There were only 3 matches in the first round, for both winners and losers.  The other three listed in the first round are the right ones.  I got a bye, along with Xaq, Damian, Chibi, and Dippy.

Also, according to the bracket that I'm holding right now(OK so I put it down a few seconds ago to type this), Andrew and Desert Coffin did play, and Andrew won, which also happened according to that vid(ciel won).

Round 1 Desert Coffin VS Zaelar is losers 1 Desert Coffin vs Andrew

Losers 1 Sp00ky vs Andrew is losers 2

Losers 2 Andrew vs Xaq is losers 3

You're playing FT?  Spam 4c.  Dash 4c all day.  Clean ground hits that aren't too far combo into 2c5c air, far hits go into 5c xx 236c, air hits just go right into air or 236c.  On block whiff a 2a or throw knives to build meter/chip.  If it loses to clashing, try going into 2b.

When we say throw, we mean ground 6a+d, not 236 a/b, c.

Grab.  Throw knives at full screen to build meter if he lets you.  Save your meter for punishing with 236c, and maybe regening life.

If someone gets us a setup I'll run a tournament as long as it doesn't conflict with another tournament I'm entering.

1088
When I mess up its funny cause I do something completely wacky like go through the other character or jump back.  When Chibi messes up its sad because he misses a 10 frame link or something.

Tournament writeup:

Skipping right to the semi-semi-finals, Xaq, returning champion, defeats Dippy.  Zaelar defeats Sibladeko, and Chibi, returning runner-up, defeats Andrew.  Damian defeats Sp00ky, who wan't present at last tournament due to being busy earning second place in Texas.  In Semi-Finals, Zaelar defeats Xaq in a major upset according to last tournament's ranking, and Damian defeats Chibi, getting revenge for peacing him out at third place last tournament.  In Winner's finals, Damian defeats Zaelar.

In the losers bracket, Andrew eliminate's Sp00ky, and Dippy eliminates Sibladeko, giving them both seventh place.  Xaq eliminates Andrew, and Chibi eliminates Dippy in fifth place.  Xaq eliminates Chibi for fourth, and continues fighting his way though losers by eliminating me in third, and beats Damian in two sets to take first place.

Updating on the format.

First the point system.  To start, first gets 7, second gets 6, ect., with 1 being the minimum(everyone who enters gets at least 1 point).  Also, for each tournament, there will be an incrace to the points given.  This tournament, first gets +3 and second gets +1, so first gets 10, seocnd gets 7, third gets 5, and one less for each place down.  9th and worse get one point.

The seeding is the top 4 get byes to the semi-semi-finals(must win 3 games to make it to the grand finals in winners side, will get 9th if they go out in two).  The next 4 get byes to the semi-semi-semi-finals(must win 4; 13th if out in two).  All ties will be broken randomly.  Out of everyone who doesn't get seeded, there will be 4 in winners and 4 in losers who make it to those who do get seeded.  Depending on the number of entrees, it might be run on two brackets.  The first bracket, for those who don't get seeded, will need to make top 8 to make it to the seeded bracket.

Sorry it took so long to post, but ranking results from the first ranbat.  This one will be seeded using them.  I don't have much time right now so i'll post the specifics on thursday when I get back from my vacation.  Top 8 present will get seeded, with ties broken randomly.  Everyone else is random.

I'm also thinking of including a bonus as an incentive for people to step their game up.  I'm still working on the details though.

1)Xaq - 7
2)Chibi - 6
3)Damian - 5
4)Andrew - 4
5)Buri - 3
5)Chaz - 3
7)Rich - 2
7)Zaelar - 2

Kara is usually used to cancel a move in only a couple frames, like kara grabs in third strike which use the movement of an attack to move you forward, then canceling the attack into a grab, to get the effect of more range on your grab.  In cvs2 you kara a roll into a special to get invincability on the special, and also the side effect of moving forward as well.  In melty blood, you kara a shield buker into a command during blockstun.

To the update: in a lot of games(including melty blood) as long as you never leave blockstun you can let go of back and you will automatically continue blocking.  This is present in cvs2 and mvc2, but not 3s.

I just want to remind everyone that when you bara you don't get any special properties on a move, like invincability.  If move A beats move B normally, move A will beat bara move B.  If you bara into something that doesn't have invincability and more hits are comming, you are going to get hit.  You pretty much have 3 options to go for when baraing.

1)Something with enough invincability to last though whatever is comming.
2)Something fast enough to hit before whatever is comming next.
3)Something that will move you out of the way of whatever is comming next.

You can also go for trading instead of beating cleanly, which is sometimes a very good option.
