Been a while since there was a post in here

a-cho now has a Youtube account at
http://www.youtube.com/user/GAMEacho

So far there's only been MBAA vids posted, which they recorded after the 5/28 ranbat, so it's pretty rare footage of casual matches at a-cho.  The Sion(who plays all styles) and the C-Hisui are probably the most noteworthy players

He uses F and H evenly, think he switches depending on matchup

Also, on the results page, they had an exhibition 3on3.  Teams were:
Yu(VSion), Tetsuya(Ciel), Nakau(Kohaku)
Kou(Miyako), GO1(VSion), Tetsu(Akiha)
Nemunyan(Satsuki), tsujisosu(Warc), Shuu(VAkiha)
Yoshino(Ren), Kirito(Akiha), SAT(Nero)

Nakau team ended up winning this

The videos that are currently being uploaded to a-cho are from an old tournament on 2009/03/07.  The results of that can be found here http://www.a-cho.com/ac/200901_06/mbaa20090307.html

http://mbaa.a-cho.net/ is the a-cho MBAA cup that takes place from 5/2 to 5/3, seems like the results for the teams portion got posted yesterday.  The results are

1. GO1(VSion), Kou(Miyako), Nemunyan(Satsuki)
2. Yoshino(Ren), Kirito(Akiha), SAT(Nero)
3. Tsujisosu(Warc), BAB(VSion), Yumekami(Ciel)

I'm surprised that the Leo/Kaimaato/Kanna team didn't get at least top 3..  lol at their team name "These guys are scared as hell of us"

A-: C-Aoko
B: F-Aoko
B-: H-Aoko

It's a bit redundant, but they've also started to rank the styles for each character.

Aoko F > C > H

Not very consistent...

Well yeah, the people that did the style rankings were different than the people that did the tier lists

It's a bit redundant, but they've also started to rank the styles for each character.

VSion H > F > C
Mecha C > H > F
Shiki Tohno H > C > F
Nero F > H > C
Nanaya C > F > H
Kohaku H > C > F
Miyako F > C > H
Warc C > F > H
Maids F > C > H
Arcueid F > H > C
White Ren F > C > H
Hisui C > H > F
Ciel C > H > F
Kouma F > C > H
Aoko F > C > H
Ries F > H > C
Satsuki C > H > F
VAkiha F > H > C
Sion F > C > H
Roa H > F > C
Akiha C > F > H
Wara C > F > H
Ren H > F > C

The consensus seems to be that for Akiha, Crescent is the best style, though Half and Full are better off against certain matchups.  To theory fight a bit more, Crescent also seems to be her best style from videos too.  Out of all the notable MBAC Akiha players(Yukinose, GO1, Kirito, Yuu, Tetsu, t-ru), Yukinose is the only one that uses F, all the other players use C/H, and GO1 switched to VSion

Did they nerf anything else major about Akiha other than the applies-to-everyone h-moon system mechanics? If so, what? The huge drop in tier surprises me too...

For H-Akiha, the main nerf she got was in damage.  She doesn't get 5k damage combos for free anymore.  Other than that I don't know what else got changed

Oh yeah, I forgot about that, 2[c] is still in.  It didn't feel like it was any different though

No j.2[c], and I'm not sure about command throw, but the input 63214 didn't give anything, so I don't think she has it

It's just fighting game terminology, 236 is a fireball aka a projectile.  It looks like an ice spear yes

White Len / Re: MBAA White Ren

Fullmoon White Ren stuff

In general, she's a pretty different character from MBAC WRen.  Her air normals are unchanged, so she still has the worst air normals in the game, but her ground normals are a bit better and her new fireballs are ridiculous.  Her damage is pretty low(even with the use of meter), but she is amazing at controlling space and baiting the opponent into doing something dumb.  If she freezes the ground and has an ice pillar out, she can keep out the opponent for a long time with fireballs and thus get a lot of opportunities to charge meter.  Her 2b being 1 hit, and 5b being comboable into fireball solves her old ground range problem.  Also, she has the same illusion dash but she can't dash cancel normals anymore...

NORMALS
5a: Same

2a: Tsundere kick, hits low(I hope)

5b: Slightly better range than old MBAC 5b, other than that it's unchanged

5[ b ]: Same

2b: A million times better than the MBAC 2b.  It's pretty much the same attack except that it hits once now instead of twice, which is amazing.

5c: Same, I think

5[ c ]: Same properties as the old 5c, but it comes out faster I think

2c and 2cc: Same, it feels like 2c travels a bit farther though, but I don't know for sure

4b: Same

All air normals: Same

SPECIALS
236a/b/c: The best fireballs ever.  A version comes out fast but is minus on block, B version is a bit slower but is better on block(maybe advantage?), C version is the EX and is AMAZING, +million on block and hit.  236c gives ample time to run up and combo off of if it hits

214a/b/c: Really odd set of specials.  214a creates the ice pillar, stays out for a long time, good for controlling space.  214b makes her freeze the ground, also good for controlling space.  214c is the ice web EX, this is basically her reversal or her get-off-me move.  Really good EX, once it comes out nothing is gonna stop it.  Don't do it if you think the opponent is gonna dash 2a you though, since they can recover and block fast enough if they weren't mashing

623a/b/c: Kind of like Ren's 623 series but very different properties.  623a does the spinny and can be comboed into, 623b seems a bit slower but can't be comboed into(not too sure), 623c is the EX version and can also be comboed into.  623[ a ] makes her delay the last hit, turning it into an overhead that launches.

22a/b/c: Illusions.  22a is the same as the mbac 22a.  22b makes her do an illusion 623 spin, but she reappears in her original location.  22c is another illusion 623 spin, but she reappears where she would have landed.

j.236a/b/c: Air fireballs, these are also amazing like the ground versions.  j.236a makes her shoot out the fireball at a 45 degree angle downwards, it comes out very fast and she can't do anything until she lands.  j.236b makes her shoot the fireball at the same angle, but the startup is longer and she pauses in the air a bit before firing.  Also, she gets to move in the air again afterwards, so it's kind of like how Warc bloodrings work.  j.236c is the EX fireball that goes at the same angle, this is amazing just like the ground version and is +million on block and hit.  Has good utility in combos

j.214a/b/c: Same as MBAC

COMBOS
2a2b2cc j.bc dj.bc AT
Boring basic combo to use if she doesn't have meter

2a2b4b j.bc dj.bc AT
Another boring combo to use if no meter is available

Corner throw 2ab wait 2abc xx 214a
This only works if she throws the opponent into corner, luckily she can control the direction of that now.  Gets a knockdown and sets up an ice pillar for pressure

5b xx 236a xx 236c
5b was always a good WRen poke, but it couldn't be comboed into anything significant in MBAC.  But not anymore, if she has meter.  After the 236c, she has plenty of time to dash up and do a followup combo.

2a2b2c tk j.236c land j.abc dj.bc AT
A good combo to use when meter is available

I think she also has corner combos involving the 623 wallslams, but I didn't get to play around with those

After an airthrow in aircombos, a good followup is to do airdash landing j.236a.  If timed and spaced right this makes her set up a meaty air fireball, which is +frames on block for her and is also reversal safe.
