Kohaku's Video Room / a-cho 7/8/07 2on2 tourney
« on: August 01, 2007, 09:24:50 PM »
So the videos from the a-cho 2 on 2 MB:AC VerB2 tourney held almost a month ago are finally going up now.  Since a-cho doesn't usually host the videos for very long, along with the fact that they're .asx on the site(so you need something like Flashget to get the .wmv version of them), I'll be providing them for download on my friend's server.  Here are the full results and teams:
http://www.a-cho.com/ac/200707_12/mbac20070708.html

And videos

Video A:
This team match is nuts.  Luckystar's Nero is way too good, and the Kouma(what's his name) is awesome, too

Video B:
Here's Messhi's(the Kohaku player that made that Schemer combo video) team up against a Ren and a VSion

Video C:
..2 Rens in one video, wow.  The 2nd Ren has a very Suiseiseki looking color

Video D:
Team I Broke Up With Satoken(kubo and BouNanaseR) face off against a Kouma and MHisui.  BouNanaseR is probably my most favorite Japanese Ren player ever, so this video is awesome <3

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
« on: July 28, 2007, 02:05:47 PM »
Is there a way to change the announcer voices?

I think there is actually..  although I haven't figured it out yet.  As it is right now, the default announcer is White Ren, but on those old MB:AC gameplay videos that I posted a while ago, regular Ren was the announcer(aka the announcer for VerA and the arcade versions).  Hopefully someone can figure this out soon

Wow, I expected more Nanayas and Sions.  5 Tohnos is a surprise too, I didn't see a lot of videos of him since VerB came out.  I gotta root for Yukinose and SII, let's hope they don't lose first round like they did last year  :V

So as you all probably know by now, the English translation patch for Melty Blood: ReACT has been released by Mirror Moon recently.  These pics all show what happen when you apply the translation patch..  to a MB:R 2.009a folder.  Hilarity ensues.  Thanks to Magikarp for making all these screenshots.

Akiha Tohno / Re: Akiha Match Vids
« on: July 21, 2007, 08:03:41 PM »
It's been a while since MBHP has had Akiha in videos, but newest update has not just one, but two good Akihas.  Awesome matches abound.  Can anyone translate/romanize the Akiha player names in these?  The 2nd Akiha player is quite amazing, though I don't understand his usage of regular flamepit after throws.

Kohaku's Video Room / Re: DESERT COAST CASUALS
« on: July 16, 2007, 03:09:17 PM »
This advice is for Glide, since V-Akiha is the only character that was used in these casuals that I sort of know how to play.

Good job learning V. Akiha, you have her combos down for the most part, and it's good that you're staggering your blockstrings a bit.  However, I did notice that you didn't use her EX Flamepits at all.  I'm guessing this was mainly because you kept messing up V. Akiha's elbow(623B) loop, but yeah, always do TK EX Flamepit after the full loop (228C).

Use air flametongues (236A and B) more!  They are great zoning tools, and alter your air trajectory, so they make your movement more unpredictable.  Low air or tigerknee flametongues are also great, but those are for blockstrings, which are explained below.

Also, your staggered 2A's in blockstrings were good, but you should vary them a bit more.  Most of your blockstrings were some staggered 2A's into 5C4C5A(whiff).  Start incorporating more 5B's, which beat low pokes, 5C's and 2C's, which beat jumpouts, low air flametongues(2368a or 2369a) to beat random pokes, and dash in throws from the blocked 2A's.

EDIT: Lol, thanks for pointing out the error, Choco

Here are some good V. Akiha matches which demonstrate some of these points, hopefully they are helpful:

Kohaku's Video Room / MB:AC PC Gameplay vids
« on: July 15, 2007, 11:15:08 AM »
So, either the game has been leaked already, or someone got their hands on some gameplay vids.  These show off the 2 new bonus modes in the PC version of the game.  You need a nicovideo account to view these.

If you don't want to get a nicovideo account, you can still watch these by replacing www.nicovideo.jp/watch/ with nicopon.jp/video/player/ , but the videos generally take a long time to load this way.  I find that it works better to try opening it in Firefox, and refreshing the video a few times after it's loaded a bit works too.

This match video of a Mech Hisui vs. FT's Miyako shows the Jetback crossup, for those that can't visualize it..  it's off of a combo ending in 2C though, but it should still be the same as off of a throw.

Kohaku's Video Room / 2007 Tougeki qualifiers thread
« on: June 09, 2007, 06:54:52 PM »
Alright, so this thread will have all the videos that we've found so far for the MB:AC Tougeki qualifiers, for all of you that are keeping up with this.  Feel free to add more links if you find new ones!  Also, I'm not too sure if the videos on hyonkell's website are qualifiers, but I'm just assuming they are since they're 2 on 2 and have the Tougeki logo under them, haha.

Sup everyone, that was really fun.  Good games to everyone I played, it was great to see SoCal, NorCal, AZ, and New York uniting to support the MB scene.  Wish I could have played more people, but I arrived pretty late and ended up having to leave early  :'(  Lol at lina for his commentary during my match against Arlieth  :V  Sorry we couldn't get our money match going, Sp00ky, I'll be sure to make it happen if you're on the West Coast again.  Finally, thanks to Arlieth and the IF crew for their hospitality  :toot: Hopefully I can come by again sometime

Good games to Leo, Scott, and Zaido at AI today, I was the one using pink Akihas.  Sorry for not being able to play at 100%, I can't really play on stick(especially Japanese stick).  Missing throws and airthrows more than half the time is painful :(  Who got that Melty Bread sticker to be posted on top of the MB:AC machine?  :V
