Tournaments and Events / 8/3 Troll in the dungeon interest check
« on: July 25, 2013, 01:54:58 PM »
This is pretty much the only weekend I can do stuff in August.  PM for my address/number if you need it.

Come play me in Aquapazza and Melty.

52
Edit: @Tonberry, the replay seems to work fine for me.

Yeah, it turns out I can't do anything after any replay(wtf??)

53
Minor update, implemented those things Tonberry suggested.
Also Tonberry, can you send/link me that replay file? I'm kinda curious of what could cause that to happen.

Skipping games when spectating is something that I plan to add. Also I know that spectating in general can be flaky sometimes, which is something I need to fix.

Those spectator mode changes aren't really small, and I'm actually making good progress on rollback, so I think I'll keep focusing on that.

Thank you very much :).

Couple things

- I'd like to really see spectate as a separate option.  If you want to spectate instead of play you'll end up sniping the game with current system.

- You only know who the host is that you connect to if you want to spectate.  It'd be nice to know who both players are, ideally in a similar fashion to built-in.

- I don't know if it's just the one replay I saved from netplay but after I watch it I can't select any of the three options and I have to exit the game.

55
Chime sound when someone connects would be gdlk.

Finally decided to check exact damage for "new" kicking ass.  All combos performed on VSion initially w/max health, set to recover 0% health, no reduction

2a 2b 5b 123 slider 623a --> 4a 2b tech punish in corner

on neutral/back tech: 7550 damage
on forward tech: 6527 damage(slider 22b 421c 4c)/7062 damage(slider 22b 421c 2c air combo)/7262(slider 22b 421c 4c moonsault combo)
on no tech: 5657 damage

2a 2b 5b 123 slider 623a --> 5[c] 4c combo(no tech read): 6302 damage.

Part 5: Mixups http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7ND4bS4uKg

I would like to upload FT5s with analysis of myself playing neutral against various opponents but that will have to wait until I'm more comfortable with the character and I can actually play people offline.  I learned a lot and had fun making these videos.  I hope at least one person gets something out of them.

Thanks for the reply. I kinda already know how the basics to this matchup works. I was looking for little more specific things to keep in mind like dealing with certain normals/specials. For example, against his EX insect swarm reversal I can either try to bait it by jumping over them and letting it whiff completely or shield all the hits after super flash then punish him afterwards.

You can do meaty 2a and if he does ex bees you can cancel the 2a into shield.  Also, the reversal has so much recovery you can wait for the shield to go away and hit him with anything so you get more damage.

Ah,I wasnt specific enough,I'm talking about aerial hit j2C,and by tech i mean techpunishes/OS's and the like.

I could be wrong but I believe you get more damage and still get reliable knockdown with the newer combos.

Does anyone play this character anymore?
I'm wondering if any of you have any j.2C tech that I can steal.

It's a really fast overhead, what tech do you need for it?  There's some stylish stuff in here if that's what you're looking for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CkfJZn5w3M

Seems like that IS the same weekend as Summer Jam. Welp...

In this video i present a fuzzy guard with the move j.236C, that works on all characters, except the nekos. Also, you have to do the fuzzy with the following combo: j.2C 7 j.2C j236C. The "7" it´s important to correctly positioning the j236C on diagonal, allowing to continue the combo even with smaller characters like Len.

It's nice to know that this fuzzy works against the smaller characters.  However, on most characters the jB fuzzy works and does substantially more damage.

I've been re-watching these lately in pursuit of the Goma mixup. It's pretty fun to watch, at least for me. The beginning is kinda one-sided but it evens out.

this appears to be 1.05 but i'll take a look further since chen and gintoki both have their own styles and this one is a bit different

I think it's vanilla cc.  Gold airthrow looks different than 1.05.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvU_Md86fm8#t=3m14s

I was wondering if there was any interest in seeing a C-Roa tutorial series, similar to Zar's MBAA F-Ciel series.  I kinda want to do this since there's a lot of information missing from the wiki and the only video guide to him is also quite lacking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZhMWowCR_w

I'm not going to do a ton of work if no one cares though, so post up if you do.  :teach:

EDIT: Kusa streamed this http://www.twitch.tv/aozaki_kyo/b/306097836

It's ok but it's also missing a lot of stuff.  It sounded like he was planning on streaming more of his stuff but either he didn't or Twitch or didn't save it.

New user here, but an avid Kouma user.

C-Kouma BnB's:

5B 214C - Short, sweet and consistent
5A 5B(B) 5C 236C 236C, then:
-j.BC dj.BC AT
-623C
-236C
- AAD

F-Kouma BnB's:

5AA 5B 2B 5C 236A/B 236A/B 236C (delay), then:
-623C
-236C
- AAD

C-/F-Kouma gimmick: j.214B, airdash on block (AT punish if they jump toward you), j.214A, or j.214C immediately after hit.

You should watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9vjlumym1Y

You can also do meaty 2a and shield it on reaction to superflash for a better punish than throw.
