Tried to figure it out in training mode after watching this.

If you hold D after you activate 421C, it keeps the orb in place. Then if you hold A, B, or C and let go of D, you can move it around again.

You can lock and unlock it as many times as you want but you can still only move it up to 8 times.

You don't have to hold D it can be any button.  http://www.meltybread.com/forums/aoko-aozaki/crescent-moon-aoko-guide-mbaa-verps2-ver1-%28arcade%29/msg59848/#msg59848

The part that's tricky is he's releasing orbs individually in some of the combos(how???)  In some of the combos he moves one orb while unlocking another to prevent one of the orbs from going away but not all of them.

I guess it really must be that bad if high-level players are actually telling me to avoid teching in a competitive fighting game. I still have nightmares of Atomic Collider even though I play Hazama.

A number of characters have ground techable enders or moves near the end of their combos that can be ground teched and also have ways to cover numerous tech directions.  Here's an example of that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXQ_3FleZhM

It's still usually fine to ground tech if you know your opponent screwed up his combo but otherwise it's a huge risk.

Air techs on the other hand are fine almost all the time.

I thought this game didn't allow you to jump cancel twice within the same combo? Jump cancel after 214B to j.B, and then again after relaunch.

You can't jump cancel off of a ground normal twice within the same combo.

Also, what is the magic oki/meaty I can do off a 214A ender, since everyone is so insistent on using that ender? That, and what is the optimal followup to 5[C]? I'm kinda stuck with 5[C]>5A>air combo right now.

Off 214a ender you can do 29 j44 jC/j22 2b.  66 8 j44 jC.  66 8 land 2b.  You can always opt to land throw as well.  You can really do almost whatever you want after 214a ender since it gives so much knockdown time.

You can do 5[C] 5B air combo instead.  If you're further away you can do 5[C] 236A 236C 2C 214A.

<1> What DO I do with Cheese Slicer? I'm hoarding meter right now solely for 623C in the corner, but I'm clueless on advanced meter combos midscreen.

You can use 236a as an anti air and confirm it into 236c on hit.  In the corner you can do blah blah 214b j22 2c 5c 236c 2c 214a.

you do NOT benefit from throw protection after block stun, you just cannot throw people in block stun. For instance, you get a hard down, you meaty 2A, delay, throw. There wont be time to poke this, as all move have more start-up than throw.

 >:( There's like 13f of throw protection after blockstun.  Anything --> throw will not beat 2a mashing.

May I ask what's wrong with the game outside of Linne being able to combo people from one end of the screen to the other over and over until the timer runs out? I don't see many people bitching about that as much as I see Yuzu hate.

Damage is crazy high, a lot of other characters also have really long combos, and neutral is mainly fishing for CH with 1/2 screen pokes into those long combos with high damage.  Some people also don't like the okizeme in the game.

That's only Linne players not knowing how to play Linne.

I was watching footage from Winter Brawl (props to the people who showed up, and to LivingShadow for recording) and saw LPT use 623C in a momiji loop, followed by air dodge jc (or jc dodge, not 100% of the order) double airdash then go low. I'm kinda puzzled by this setup. Well, it worked for him there, but it seems you get less damage, worse positioning and you have to blow meter compared to completing the momiji loop or going for a normal reset. Or maybe it was just an execution error and I'm reading way too much into this, but it didn't seem like it.

You can pull them slightly out of the corner with 6c 623c allowing for more mixups.  At 1:02:05 you see him do it again except he goes for crossup that time.  Also where you timestamped, he would have gone into autoheat without much health to restore and potentially have either low meter in next round or no meter to help him escape pressure in that round if he didn't go for that combo.

I'm having trouble with his IH combo if I start with 2a (getting 5B starter to actually hit in a real fight doesnt work out for me so I gotta start with 2a)

but the combo is 2aa5b2b5c IH 5b5c 236C 5b5c j.bc dj.bc AT

If I start with 2aa, the 5c after the IH wiffs in the combo, Should I dash after IH because 2aa is pushing me too far away? or am I just messing up the timing? Maybe I should remove the 5b after IH and just 5c by itself before I go into 236C? Am I even making sense? all this algebra in my fighting games.  :slowpoke:

If you want to increase your damage, ideally you would do dash 5b 2b 5c after IH.  In addition to all the combos the post above me suggested blah blah IH blah blah 5c 623c 5b 5c jb jc jabc airthrow also does more damage then the one you're using.

Why would I need to play the game to kill it? At this rate, the game is going to kill itself with nonsense like this. My work has been cut out for me.

Too late, I already killed it  :laffo: :laffo: :laffo:

As far as I know, no one really cares since the scene has stagnated.  If you have any questions about a specific character feel free to ask them in a specific forum and they will be answered.

Thank you for breathing some life back into this section. It's kind of sad that Aoko can't kick ass as good as she could in AC.

2a 3c still works vs no tech, back tech, and forward tech.  I also discovered this shortly after making that video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXQ_3FleZhM#t=2m33s

[4]a 2b 2c.  I never really paid attention to this part previously since it showed 4 clips at the same time but this actually covers all tech directions and gives you a combo on no tech.  Make detailed video about new tech, hide the most important part in a 3 second clip near the end.   :gonk: :gonk: :gonk: :gonk: I tested it and it still works.
