Overall, F-Nero is the best. EX ground fog lockdown and sonic boom crow are awesome. However, H-Nero EX Wasp is essential for certain matchups like M.Hisui and Red Arc who spend all day in the air and need some way to apply anti-air pressure.

There's a chance your windows installation was corrupted in some way during the reinstall. It's happened to me because of a scratch or something on the disc.

Over time, pretty much.

Just as long as you're not from Singapore! (No offense, Alfonse)

Want uber Versus-boss versions of Nero and other Dead Apostles. And by uber-boss I mean you have to kill all 666 beasts in a single boss fight.

Usually, it's epic fail. Not just a simple timeout.

Yeah, you're not going to learn much from playing against the computer, because of one reason: It doesn't learn. I thought you were going to upload replays from versus matches, to be honest.

I can take a look at them to discuss your approaches, setups and combos, though. I don't have MBAC currently installed on this computer so it'll be a little while.

I'd like to ask the golden question:

... What kind of computer and graphics card are you running on? :3

"i've played high players before. it's usually a spam character with the infinite loop combo being used. repetitively. there's an easy way to deal with it. Ex-Shield alot."

Creating a strategy that relies upon EX-Shield is sketchy at best (despite my evidence to the contrary) and stupidly risky at worst. Based upon what you're saying, you're an intermediate player at best. Because of that, people on this board will take advice from you with a HUGE grain of salt, so we don't expect you to be doing us a favor or teaching us much by uploading your replays. However, we are totally down to review your matches and help you improve. Granted, there isn't a whole lot of information here on the Nero section, but the advanced strats we know and use tend to come from video footage of two Japanese players, SAT and Lucky Star.

Nero's matchup against Red Arc is ridiculously bad. She has aerial superiority at multiple angles, full-screen punishes, lockdown with blood rings and consistent damage off of her air combos which end in an airthrow that puts her right next to you for okizeme (mixups when one player is knocked down). The video I linked above is my BEST matchup against a skilled Red Arc (who is a Japanese player, foreign exchange student)- I usually get beaten down by him.

Warakia was never a particularly bad matchup for Nero as far as I remember, mostly because Wara takes damage like a cheap paper bag. He is rather formidable in the air and on offense, however.

Ugh, I forgot about Heat Cancels. Thanks.

    Attention all Frame-Data peoples:

    In order to make it easier to post and to save on valuable screen space, I've made a list of suggested abbreviations that have been used on Half-Moon Len's framedata.

http://www.meltybread.com/meltywiki/len/half-moon-len/

Please use this as a general template for posting frame-data. It's not formatted nicely, but I changed some notation and added spaces after every comma so that the table could add new lines for cells that had lots of crap in them.

Also note that the top headers for the data have been changed or abbreviated.

Advantage -> Adv
VS Damage -> Chip
Guard Damage -> Crush  (think of Guard Crush)
Damage Correction -> Prorate
Notes -> *

NOTE: For pages with Frame Data tables, there is a specialized template marked as "Frame Data" that will delete the sidebar from the page. Do NOT use "Default Template" for pages like this or the table will spill over and look derpy.

Active Frame, Formula Notation:
10*2(5), 5

  • 10 frame active
  • x2 multiplier
  • (5) frame gap
  • ,    <-- Commas mark a break between hits, ADD A SPACE AFTER EACH COMMA!
  • 5 frame active <-- the last hit

Adding the comma with a space afterwards for long formulas is absolutely necessary to prevent the table from overflowing. Please remember this! Also, the same sort of notation is used for damage (multipliers, commas).

Recovery Notation
Shorter is sweeter! Just use the word "Land" instead of when landing, etc.

Advantage Notation

  • (D): Down, like a knockdown.
  • (L): Launch.
  • (S): Slam, aka Wallslam.

Guard Notation

  • (H): High Block.
  • (L): Low Block.
  • (A): Air Block.
  • All: All Block

Cancel Notation

  • C: Chain into itself.
  • R: Reverse Beat.
  • J: Jump Cancel.
  • S: Special Cancel.
  • EX: EX Cancel.
  • H: Heat Cancel  <-- easier to use H than I, it's more visible from an editorial standpoint

Prorate
For "Multipliers", enclose them in brackets.

Attached is an Excel sheet (with macro) that will convert the contents to HTML table code. It helps a lot.

Perhaps I'll start working on a framedata format for the wiki that will fit. Might be difficult, though.

Nero Chaos (Nrvnqsr) / Re: Nero's pressure options
« on: May 14, 2009, 04:52:31 PM »
Actually, for MBAA, especially Half and Full Moon Nero, OTGs might be interesting, because they either have different normal attacks all together or their specials/EXs give them new options. For example, Half Moon Nero can not only go into an OTG combo, but do an EX Crows afterwards which machine-guns outward and can tech-punish opponents. Also, Half Moon (i dunno about Full Moon), when low-shielding, automatically knocks down the opponent with a low shield-bunker (no chance to launch for a combo), so an OTG for guaranteed damage would be useful here.

94
... You guys know you can re-HEAT every hour, right? :3

Nero Chaos (Nrvnqsr) / Re: Nero's pressure options

Option 1: Shield.
Option 2: Dodge.
Option 3: Dodge, then Shield.
Option 4: Refer back to Option 1.

96
On the wiki, where? o_O

Oh, the MBAA.wikidot wiki. Gotcha.

I'm pretty sure it's just arlieth@meltybread.com but there's a chance it might not be. I used to have a Paypal donations page but i'll have to dig everything up again.
