Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: MBAACC Tiers
« on: August 26, 2011, 01:30:25 PM »
Huh, don't think I've seen a tier list that believably puts everyone in just the "A" tier. That's some good balance there.

Except for Leo's Ryougi. That dude needs nerfing.

Considering the game's lifespan, this is a relatively early tier list and it pretty much just means that everyone is very playable.

I don't really care about tiers so much, but when it comes down to character strength, I'd say Kohaku/PCL/HisuKoha/Ryougi are pretty far from S-tier.

Remember what a tier is - a comparison of how a character performs in matchups against all other characters (assessing their strength in the game.)  Like Nero in MBAA, P-CL has some really bad matchups.  C/F Koha aren't what they used to be (especially after cactus nerf).  The OTG Relaunch doesn't really benefit either of them too much.

Maybe a bit of a different story for Hisu-Koha/Ryougi.  Same can be said for Hisu/Koha about cactus, but I don't think it effects them as badly, and Ryougi getting buffs is pretty crazy.  Maybe they're up there, but I don't think any of them are straight up unfair.  Like Kanna and Sat said, it's probably a A+/A/A- difference at best.

I'd say Seifuku and Satsuki are floating up there around Hisu-Koha and Ryougi, personally.  Satsuki's normals are much better now, and Seifuku's carry you to corner from anywhere and do 5k feels bad man.

So who would you say is S-tier instead? I haven't really been keeping up with match videos but please enlighten me about P-CL's really bad matchups.

It really doesn't say anything interesting but here goes... actually I am way too lazy to do a professional/nice job lol

it just says they were NAYANDERING i mean fretting or contemplating over what to do cause like ps3 port is hard but ending everything with just a pc port is too normal and boring orz so we were wondering about what to do but like type moon san was like if you are still thinking about it why not release it with carnival phantasm?! and french bread was like ... SOUNDS GOOD

and then about netplay there won't be any on release but they are going to add it in a patch

tl over, plz excuse my laziness

assuming you get a proper starter but even in general, 4c momiji is really easy. if you are using the emulator, you probably want to time things earlier instead of visually confirming it because of input lag

32
oh right i forgot you do that, my bad.

we could just alternate on saturdays then or maybe another day. though you being busy on tues/thurs/sun leaves mon/weds/fri/sat

mon is probably resting period for most people and i know people tend to be busy on weds/fri.

also i'm not sure if i'm going to gamecenter tomorrow anymore but i might be there on saturday

33
wellllll i'm only volunteering to play melty blood to help you improve really (which you have been btw)
it's not a game any of us practice anymore and even yuji is out of practice now

as veterans we aren't really interested in playing each other anymore but we are open to helping new players
i'm currently dabbling in vsav/sf4 and just play gg whenever i get the chance to

personally i'm fine with whatever day you pick, maybe we could move gamecenter to sunday instead... gvg happy hour is also rather enticing
maybe you can move southtown to every other saturday and gamecenter every other sunday?

34
i normally dont go to southtown, that was actually my first time there. i might start going more often now if i can get people to come for guilty gear.

i was gonna say you can play there as long as people wanna show up as southtown can provide the game and a monitor to use so maybe you need to bring a ps2...

but i remembered that the issue with having it weekly is that southtown normally has sf4/mvc3/kof13 ranbats every other week so during the off-week they have a melty blood gathering on sundays.

35
guess i'll be going to gamecenter again tomorrow to hang out with someone i dont see often and to play some guilty gear.

i'll willing to play some melty if you guys show up and some other players should be there too.

36
ggs thanks for coming out everyone. hope to see everyone at nci

37
so you guys only play on one setup right? i think we may potentially have like 13 players...

38
Mir, or whatever he goes by. He's been the key contributor for Sunday.

Heading out, will be there around 6!

I assume that's 6 PM...? So, is anyone going to be there earlier? I will probably be showing up, but I'd like it if we could arrange a time to meet.

that was for thursday dude. i think things are supposed to start at like 1pm on sunday

Like I said, he's okay now.  He looks about 20 years older than he did last year though.

;_;

40
nah i was just wondering what time i should get there since i understand they close kind of early. who's lok?

41
yeah i meant like i find it weird that you dont alternate weeks ie southtown on one week, gamecenter on the other, etc... also my question about southtown has yet to be answered

42
how long are you guys gonna play at southtown and when they do close on sundays?  7 or 9?

i also find it kind of weird that you guys play twice a week every two weeks instead of once every week but thats cool i guess

43
nci is scheduled to be at gamecenter, san mateo, sept 3rd. be there or be square i guess. also if anyone is willing to accommodate, our boy hobbes is from sonoma and will need a place to crash for the night after nci.

45
at the moment i feel like you guys should be more focused on learning the game instead of pushing for a cab and new players. if you can impress people and they like what they see, you'd be generating some real hype there and then you'd have an easier time getting new players.

the posts about melty and common misconceptions will be geared towards people like you guys who are relatively new to melty and/or fighting games in general. the aim of those posts will be to inspire people to get stronger and to help people who are struggling to get better.

46
it's cool. as long as you guys want to make an honest and genuine effort to get better, i will try to support. i actually was thinking of starting a blog about fighting games. it would mostly be for my recording my own progress and analysis but i was thinking of starting a series of posts to dissolve some common misconceptions people have about learning fighters and maybe write some posts covering melty fundamentals.

i haven't gone public with the link yet because i havent decided if i really want to use a blogspot but let me know if you'd be interested in reading something like this: http://astral-vision.blogspot.com/

47
at this rate i'm not really planning on going. also ivan and tone are at evo. so a session at southtown would probably just be you and mir anyways.

also sorry, i'm not really interested in playing melty unless you guys actually want to get serious and practice because it's honestly just a waste of my time. i am willing to answer any questions you have about the game though.

48
do you know if they are going to be showing the evo stream? sunday is evo grand finals after all. i was thinking of going to play gundam/ae if i finished homework early and they were gonna show grand finals for sf4

49
you should just double post next time. the thread isn't going to get looked at if there isn't a new post.

anyways it seems like nci is going to be pushed back to sept 3. if you guys want to get competent and/or serious about melty, you guys should practice up and come out to play.

50
we got your second setup covered
