Hey Riotblade, thanks for getting that SJSU club up and running.  Do you still need help with that contract writing or what-not?  And Thanks, Mr. Dakanya, for the SRK thread.

Also, I know that securing a room isn't the easiest thing to do, but I want to know if Campus Village is a viable option for a monthly venue.

Yeah, I need help with the constitution.  I haven't had time to start writing it but it shouldn't be too hard.  What I need more is for everyone that was listed to send me student ID's or we can't get anywhere.

I think I have a recording setup.  I was going to buy a RF Modulator today since they're really cheap and my laptop has a built in Coaxial TV Tuner.  My PS2 cable has a built in composite splitter so this won't cost much, and I needed it anyways.

Club Update:

I finished the Drop-In meeting, and the next deadline is going to be 17th for all the paperwork.

I will need student ID's from the following:

Tenkai
TrickPat
Aginor
ChocolateThunder
Chun
JTchinoy

Out of all of those, I need a treasurer.  Club can't get started without a treasurer.

Also, there is a "Constitution".  It's basically a written set of rules of how our club operates.  I might need help writing this.

I might not be able to attend.  I'll find out by Friday seeing how Saturday is lunar new year and my family might have something planned.  If anything I can go during the day but need to be home by dinner.

*EDIT*
I'm going to try attending the "Drop-In" meeting tomorrow.  I will need real names of everybody who is interested in the club soon.  You guys get "officer" positions (meaning, shine my shoes).

Can anyone check if the SJSU Campus Village is available on Saturday, March 3rd?  Also, who's still interested in forming the SJSU fighting game animu club?

My list still only contains Tenkai T_T.  I can have like 2 write ins easy.  That still leaves 5 people we need to have on hand.  I think Chun said he was interested, so I'm going to just assume I can put his name down.  So we still need 4 interested people.  The deadline is kinda in 3 days so that's kinda grim.

People who I know go to SJSU THIS SEMESTER (Doesn't matter if you're not going to be here next semester)

Another good point Tenkai brought up was that we need a place on Saturday.  I don't think having a club guarantees a room/venue.  I've tried emailing them but I have yet to receive a reply zzzz. 

I don't think we can get one this semester .

Also, I'm going to try going to the information booth again tomorrow.  I'm not 100% positive if that's the right place to reserve those rooms because there's 2 layers of security before I can actually get to the booth, but it's worth trying.

Also+1, I'm going to be showing on the 3rd for sure.  MBAA is getting more hype.

Sure, I would be more than happy to accept your help.  I'm hoping someone will take the initiative and start something like - Sadlife Fighting Game Club - but less cheesy.    So if you could start up one, then that'll help secure some consistent venues.  I'm in the process of find other - potential - places.

I've been meaning to try to start one of these clubs but I'd need help from other SJSU students.  The club process isn't hard I believe since I know somebody who started a shoe head club.  If anybody is a SJSU student and interested, let me know since I'm going to be at SJSU for at least another 2 years.  We need to find a minimum of 8 students and 1 advisor (Faculty or Staff).

Well, Dakanya and I were thinking of other possible venues for gatherings

The ideas that I came up with were:

McQuarrie Hall (outside) where there's a open area and the roof above you.  That's where the ROTC class or w/e is usually held.
Computer Science clubroom, dunno if it'll be opened but maybe we can ask for permission on a future date.
Library Meeting rooms - There are rooms which can be rented out to students for study sessions / meetings or and whatnot.  Dunno if it's a good idea to be playing games in there though.
School classrooms (lol) - We can try going into a vacant room and hope nobody kicks us out

Anyone have any ideas?
