Your opponent is pretty bad.

A few pointers in my opinion. Master these few essential combos. xx indicates starter of choice (2a, 5b, 2b)

The 4B relaunch, xx 2c 4b air dash jb/c 5b 2b (2c) 4b jb jc jb jc throw. Omit (2c) for nanaya, aoko, kouma

The corner combo, xx 2c 5c, 5a 5b 5c, 5a 5b 2b 4b jb jc jb jc throw. Your main source of damage.

5C SJ combos, xx 2c 5cc, depending on distance, you could then
a) air dash into jb jc jb jc throw (about half screen)
b) jb/jc into corner combo (from full screen to 3/4 screen)
Deciding which to do comes with experience, and by the time you do the 2c delay 5c, there's enough time to decide which combo is appropriate.

Another handy one would be the 4b into corner combo but the damage increase isn't really a lot.

Practice linking 236b 236b 236b into 623c as this is another important combo for Arcueid. Reps for the combos included below.

Generally, bring your opponent to the corner, and start you pressure game. Arc has combos that cover a lot of screen distance so carrying the opponent should be easy.

Pressure wise I suggest watching more videos of Japanese players like SII and You, and have a read on Tare's guide for blockstrings.

Here are some reps I did while messing about so you have a better picture of how the combos look like. Remember, its all about height control and delaying. So practice practice practice.

Most of the combos are match practical, except stuff in the flashy reps.

In order:

Yes, I know he was bad.

4b relaunch and Corner combo:Ugh, these are going to be a challenge. But I'm sure I'll get them down eventually. My main problem with the corner combo is the getting in the 5a5b5c after the first wallslam.

5cc combos:I can do option a fairly well. For option b see Corner combo.

236bx3 623c: This is hard to input on a keyboard but I'll attempt it.

Definitely Mintjam's version, He got the intro right and some good piano work.

Uh... I can see where you're coming from but the two have no relation other than 16th notes on the drum and minor note similarities.

GLZ, I don't know about you but the version of End of 1000 years that you're using sounds very... off to me. To put it simply the timing is very awkward to start (and that has to be very precise or else it sounds weird), I'd suggest a different version of the same piece.

However, I'm liking the music you're using on Lost World's Biography.

What don't you like about the Ezel Ash rendition of End of a Thousand Years? The slow-ish buildup before it goes nuts? If you let me know specifically what you don't like, that will help with choosing a new remix.

Anyway, I will have a different version of EoaTY for V2. Its the most remixed song in all of type-moon other then EMIYA, so it shouldn't be hard to find another high-quality one that loops well. (In fact, i think i have a few others in my MP3 barrel right now actually.)

My problem with the piece is the timing of the intro, it feels like he's trying (and failing) to syncopate it and it's driving me nuts. If you're using a different version of it for the next release it should be fine.

I've improved a lot over the course of the month. I can now do the 2c5c and 2c3b combos fairly well (although I have to mentally force myself to switch between them).

I've also got a couple of people in my area who may start playing more often, they haven't picked characters yet but one seems to be between Aoko and Sacchin.

Again, Replay attached so you all can laugh at me. Hopefully it will work this time.

I dunno how Akiha would take to this.

Depends on the guys' reactions. If it's "What boobs?" I would suggest running as far away as possible from anything flammable.

Just don't ask for a black haired version, I don't know if I could pull it off.

Edit:Actually, I might attempt it. I'll post it up if it's any good.
Edit 2:Was much easier than I thought it would be.

I attempted coloring that pic. Didn't turn out too bad for a first attempt.

I have a reason: Don't own the systems it's out for.

Not a good enough reason, find a way.
I could always leech off of someone else. I think a few friends of mine are planning on getting it.

But Hilarious nonetheless. Would be more so if the move was a combo syncrhonized to the music.

It's even harder on the keyboard. Thank goodness MBAC Arc doesn't have any strategies that require it.

No, I was talking about the Superjump. For some reason that's the command I always used.

1016
The fact that Sacchin box even exists is a testament to that.

Thanks for the correction, in other words it's used to try to get your opponent to mess up a block or otherwise keep them on the defensive.

Blockstring-A set of attacks designed to keep your opponent in "blockstun" while building up meter
Blockstun-the blocking animation during which your opponent can't attack
SJ- "super jump" IIRC this refers to the 23678 command.
IAD-"Instant air dash" 6/4+a+b or 6956/4754 IIRC. It's another way to airdash
BnB-"Bread and Butter Combo" the basic combo for a particular character
Bara-"Bara cancel" this refers to using the 214d command then canceling it into another attack.

There's a few more things you might want to look at in the stickied thread on this board.

Anyone with more knowledge than me should feel free to correct me.

To "whiff" is to miss with an attack, it can be on purpose or not. When done on purpose it's usually to cancel some lag from a previous attack.

I guess I should explain "Lag" too. That would be the frames of an attack during which the attack can't actually hit. Ex. if Shiki's AD were to miss he has a huge amount of frames where he just goes through recovery animation.

Any more terms you need to know?

I think he would fit best into the lancer class. As far as I know he's best known for Gungnir.

I'll probably be coming up with a caster servant shortly, not so much based on lore as a concept.

White Len / Re: The difference?
« on: June 15, 2009, 02:52:17 AM »
Despite the obvious personality difference they are somewhat similar. Here's what I can remember in terms of differences.

Len:
Cats, faster movement, smooth ice spears, turns into a cat when crouching. uhh... anything I missed?

W-Len:
Illusion dash, chargable 236a, multifaceted ice spears, 214a/b/c

And I think their fake outs have different commands.

That's refering to the newest version of Melty Blood. Each fighter now has 3 styles: Crecent moon(speed based, prefix:C-), Half moon (Balanced style, prefix H-), and Full moon (Power based, prefix F-)

Each style has a more or less different moveset.

Hey, I go by the name of Tohno-san cause I'm a Type-Moon freak. I don't have Melty Blood.  :emo: But I play the Melty Blood characters on MUGEN. I'm a huge fan of the storyline, too. I live in South Australia.   :prinny:

oh god. not another one.  :emo:

Get MB. its better then MUGEN. I used to be a MUGEN addict to. Trust me on this one.

I recently switched over. The new physics take some getting used to but it's not all that hard to switch. And yes, it is better.
