No mention of it over here.

Anyway, I'll try to start showing up again next week.

Are there any gatherings of any kind happening in the area these days? Melty? Arcana? Virtual-On?

Only nine participants?
T_T
It's actually 10 people, not that it matters.

Signups weren't well advertised outside of the group of regulars and were rather late, like what happened at NEC.

Also, anyone know what happened to the results being posted on SRK? It's not in the main results article.

Ciel's Tech Support / Re: Weird problems with dummy replays.
« on: March 03, 2013, 07:09:01 PM »
If you want to mess with your replay names just open the HeaderRepDummy file in the System folder and mess with what name is set equal to.

To have it as your first format it should be equal to RepD_<CPUNAME>_<CPUSTYLE>

So if it's saving things with the @ symbol then maybe that file somehow got modified to replace the angle bracket with @ symbols.

Don't know who the second setup belonged to but it wasn't mine. But I had mine in my car in case we needed it.

Going to be putting the replays up in a results thread. Because I can.

63
Labeling some of the ones I didn't get the chance to label at the tourney. Will get them up after that.

UNIB Videos and Streams / Re: UNI Video Discussion Thread

I can't say I think it's as fun-looking as melty. I'd give them a few iterations before it will be polished enough. Mostly I think the damage needs to be toned down on these combos, 9k is a bit much.

65
I'll be bringing mine as usual.

66
I'm going to be there, collecting replays as last time.

My stick has been a bit finicky lately so I might need to borrow someone's if it fails for no apparent reason.

Also, might be returning to my roots if I can get my old character's combos down. If you all remember that far back you'll know what char I mean.

Akiha's Tea Room / Re: Fastes game characters?

We're working on it.

In terms of the inf, I think the ideal usage is to use a couple reps to get the damage up to about 6k then to just finish with some sort of Oki.

In terms of speed characters:

VAkiha (2 fast airdashes)
Nanaya (Teleports let him clear the entire screen in less than a second. Also, Warui Ne.)
Ryougi (H and C primarily, but the problem is that a lot of her speed leaves her very unsafe)
Warc (See Nanaya, teleports)

I think that covers it mostly.

Also, as a C-Ryougi player here's the rundown.

Damage: average to high depending on if you're using 62314c combos or not.

Zoning: large hitboxes on a lot of normals. The 421 and 214 series are air unblockable so you get the obvious applications of huge unblockable aerial hitboxes.

Pressure: there aren't many move that are + on block except 214c and 22c. I've been finding most of my pressure is via the charged c unblockables.

Mixups: Getting mixups with Ryougi takes some work. It's possible if you know the more advanced combos, but most of the easy ones require meter. The basic combo ends with a reset or an airthrow that doesn't give you much advantage.

UNREAL BLACK THINGS / Re: UNIB PS3 release, confirmed 10 new characters
« on: January 28, 2013, 06:54:54 PM »
There's still a couple designs off the original concept art that weren't used in the original Arcade version, so I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 version had more characters.

Whether or not this is legit it doesn't really seem implausible.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: MeltyDB - A place to look for MBAACC VODs
« on: January 19, 2013, 07:03:41 PM »
Interface is nice an clean, a good effort in my opinion. Maybe add nico matches in the future.

72
Im thinking about putting you guys in the Main room.

Also i want your Finals on the Big Screen.

That's doable. If things are anything like last time we'll be doing Melty finals off of my laptop again so I just need a cable to whatever video output. (I have HDMI and VGA output.) Also going to need at least one outlet to plug the Laptop into.

73
I'd be up for it, don't really have a third though. Probably going to need to get that set up before things start.

Interesting format.

74
Also teams this time? I'll even be up for running it etc.
If we get teams going it would probably have to be before singles, everyone bails after singles finishes.

75
I have other stuff I was planning on doing while I was out there in addition to the tournament. I think my flight arrives early enough for me to have plenty of time to register.
