Donated 5 to melty. Every little bit counts.

Whoever wins though, ill support it.

On a kinda unrelated note, My mums fought breast cancer and won. Thank goodness for that.

152
So who's going this friday?

153
I'll be there this Friday after work (Feb 4).  I also want some Imagawayaki.

I've been looking at Public transportation options from the Hotel to the Copabanana. This seems like a decent choice.

Leaving the hotel @ 7:00p: http://goo.gl/maps/Wdgwh

And leaving the Cocabanana @ Midnight: http://goo.gl/maps/fl51M

There are of course other ways, but I thought i'd share this.

That, my friend, is the website to input your registration code, which is found on the MB disk. Can't help you on these forums.

Ten is still my hero <3

You have low standards. Pick F(raud)-moon, 2AAA redash, overpowered dive oki, hero.

On an educational note- i'm amazed they didn't catch and fix the JBB arcana heart fairy zooming yet.

Kohaku's Magical Garage / Re: General questions and practice habits
« on: August 30, 2012, 01:18:47 PM »
I find these things work for me when it comes to this game & other games

Quote
What practice habits do you guys have when it comes to learning a character?
1: Learn 2 combos,
-1-Starting from the ground
-2-a variation of the first one (ie, when you catch em in the air)

2: Learn specific move properties
-1- Fast moves
-2- Slow recovery moves
-3- Jump cancelable on hit/block
-4- Special/ex cancelable

3: Learn 2+ blockstring patterns that don't leave ya horrifically open for counter attack.

Quote
Is it more advisable to try and counter with a combo rather than a fairly safe special or normals?
Depends on how open they are and how far you are.

Quote
How do you establish a solid defense in this game?
Block
Block overheads on reaction
Don't DP.
Don't be afraid to run away.
Watch the opponent
Watch for openings
Watch for stupid patterns.

Quote
Outside of playing matches, what is the best way to learn the game?
Watch matches from youtube for your character and see what they do, then adapt it to your play style.
If you have access, watch your matches and see why you lost.
Talk to ppl you play and ask how the things they do work on you. Advice is always helpful

Hope this helps. Also, guess this is your first post here. Welcome to MB. be sure to say hello on the Introduction Thread in Akiha's Tea Room.

Hello Mar Tee.

Since this is your first post, feel free to make an introduction at the introduction thread. You can find it here
http://www.meltybread.com/forums/akiha%27s-tea-room/

If you are interested in an event that will probably hold Melty, there is an event at Super arcade this coming Saturday, 7/28/2012 for Xie's "Rebel Up" event. It is mainly for BB and P4A, but there will most likely be a MB setup there.

If you want to play the cab at FFA, I sometimes head there Friday evenings, where i will loiter at the MB & GG machine. If tournies for MB took place on Friday evenings, I'd be interested in recording again.

Enjoy your stay here.

PS: I updated the beginning thread with your info as well as the Rebel Up event.

Seems like a 1 frame shield. I tested against a Hisui Book (214a>6)

After a 1 frame shield, I did 6A+B with some success.
Doesn't work with a held shield though.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: Current Code vs Actress Again
« on: July 05, 2012, 07:53:07 AM »
When it comes to AA when compared to CC
-Character walk speed isn't as fast overall
-No fancy OTG relaunch Combos
-"Anti A" Armor
-Lack of "Blowback edge(?)" moves. (ex: C-Hisui lacks j2[C] and 623 in AA)

174
Yay. I don't have to rent a car this time. I'ma try to make it out again.  :D

Hisui / Re: MBAACC Hisui

Is there any trick to do j.BB consistently after an air throw? most of the time Hisui is facing the wrong way when I try to do it :gonk:
I assume you mean after a raw airthrow.

There is no real trick. You just have to hit j.BB the moment you bounce off the opponent.
The exception is when you... i guess air dash in airthrow?... Hisui may bounce and go too far forward because of forward momentum, making the jBB whiff.

I have been doing j6B myself after an airthrow. It's funny to see the opponent bounce from an air dust.
