Discovered the input display today.  And no, I'm not hitting them simultaneously (although I was wondering if that was indeed what was going on for the longest time).  My timing is just way to tight.  The gap between jumping  and pressing an attack button is within 1 - 3 frames when I fail combos.  Now that I've discovered this new tool, I'm going to experiment to find the exact amount of frames before I can attack x3

The Japanese put their family names in front but address foreigners in the manner to which the foreigner is accustomed.

Ex #1:  Koreans also put their family name up front so a Japanese would address them with their family name first.
i.e.  Korean: Kim (family) Joo Yun (personal) ---  Japanese: Kimu Ju Yan
Ex #2:  Americans (English) put their personal name up front so a Japanese would address them with their personal name first.
i.e.  American: George (personal) Bush (family) --- Japanese:  Jioruju Bushi

They do make an interesting exception though.  You could be an American citizen of Japanese decent with a Japanese name but they'll still put your personal name first in addressing you because that's what Americans do.  Also, spelling one's name in kanji and hiragana is also reserved for Japanese citizens.  If you're a Japanese-American, they'll spell your name all in katakana like they do with any other foreigner.

Of course, we as Americans have no intent to respect the ways of others so we give Japan the big F U and say their names personal name first like we do with ours.

Personally, I prefer to say Japanese names personal name first.  Not only does it feel respectful, it just sounds better.  Well to me at least...

As for Shiki and Kouma (personal names), I'd (ME PERSONALLY, you can do whatever the hell you want) say their full names (which I don't think happens very often if at all) in the Japanese order since they are Japanese names.  As for Akiha...if people can call Red (Wild) Arcueid "Warc" (hehe, chocobos), then I see no reason why we can call Akiha Vermillion (Red) "Rocky-ha" (hehe, I made a funny...ok, shut up.  I'm tired).  But serious, just call her whatever you want.  The important part is that people will understand who you're talking about.  Unless you pull a douchebag move like just saying "Akiha" and leave everyone to guess which one.

What does this have to do with Len vs. Ren?  Not I clue.  I think I was bored and just running off of Liger's post.

Say: Len

ok...

Now say: Ren

Tell me, which sounds better?  If you said Ren, you need to stop gargling fag-nut sauce.  I know there is no phonetics for L in the japanese language but I also know that they weren't trying to give her a japanese name either.

Exhibit A:  Lillith from Darkstalker (Vampire Savior) has her name spelled out in katakana that would be pronounce Ririsu...but we don't call her that because Capcom wanted to name her Lillith and the closest they could get with their language was Ririsu.

Exhibit B:  White Len.  White Ren.  Yea...the latter just sounds retarded

Tell your friend from japan to say "Squirrel"
"Election" works too.
Oh God!  He doesn't understand why I'm laughing at him!  My stomach hurts...

which one?  qcf might whiff, qcb might be too slow (but i guess it can still push him back if he blocks), and there is no way in hell i can execute dp fast enough for bara

Is is just me or does it seem that as soon as you jump, there's a chunk of frames where you can't attack?  On several occasions, I'd jump and hit at attack button as soon as I was off the ground only to have nothing happen and throw off my entire combo.  Is it the game or do I need a new stick?

How's the Net Play?  More specifically, how's the lag?  Is it worth getting?

As far as I can tell, baras only work if you're in a specific portion of block stun oh which I cannot remember what everyone decided to dub it.  Anyways, I was having the same problem until my friend told me that I have to do it while actually blocking.  Set the training CPU to attack, preferably an attack that hits twice or more.  Block the first hit and execute the bara as if you were cancelling off of the CPU's second hit.

'Sup people.  Kryo here.  I play R.Arc and Akiha and I goof around w/ W.Len, Aoko, and Kouma.  I'm in northern Orange County so Arcade Infinity is my main hub.  It's asian invasion there but at least the girls are better looking than at any other arcade.  Interface isn't too far so I go to WT w/ Scott and Leo when I have the chance.  You can pretty much blame them for keeping me playing.

White Len / Re: Len or WLen?
« on: August 08, 2007, 11:04:32 PM »
This is what I'm noticing from the MBACvB on the PC (now that's a mouthful of letters).

Len is much faster than her chatty counterpart.  This makes it easier to rush in.  Her throw can also lead to some interesting combo extentions.  Also, she can often rush in safely since a lot of her C moves envelop her whole body.  A few of her specials seem to have the primary purpose of distraction/trickery but I've found little practical use for them.

White Len is slower but most of her moves have great range or pressure qualities.  Basically, she seems to be all about block strings focused around her QCF + [A].  DP + A/B also allows for mixups as long as your opponent doesn't counter.  She doesn't have as much combo potential but she levels the playing field by hitting harder with the exeption of DP + C and QCB + C (not that I mind.  Its fun to smack people w/ these moves when they enter Heat and watch them cry as the Heat drains away).  Obviously, I play w/ W.Len more then Len.

Anyways, that's what I've noticed.  Or maybe I'm just crazy...
