Reimu fought Patchouli twice in EoSD? Really? I really got to play that game again  :psyduck:

I understand what are frames all about, but I got a little lost when I noticed certain moves for each character was, as written, +frames, or said to give frame advantage (C-Akiha 236C, for instance). How do you capitalize on the frame advantage acquired?

Kohaku's Magical Garage / Re: Throws?
« on: July 23, 2010, 06:56:53 AM »
Miyako's throw is equivalent to SF3 Makoto's karakusa, it's one of the only (possibly only?) MB throws that sets your opponent up for the incoming pain train you're doing to dish out on them. However, there's no kara throwing in MB, so landing it is another story.  :mystery:

What, you can duck in the path of an incoming huntsman arrow and it'll hit you even if you swear it should have flew above your head?

They ditched the entire zombie thing in RE4 and RE5.  :psyduck:

It seems to work a little more differently in MB than your standard super meter in SF or MvC. At least it does to me, but does it really? I noticed that my damage drops about a few hundred when I combo from 0% meter as opposed to 100% or more.

What are your computer specs? Granted that MBAC isn't a very heavy game, it might be due to your specs. Either that, or the fact you pirated the game.

Spoil me a little - how tough are the loli twin bosses with the X-strike-like mystic arte?

Goodness gracious, it's way more difficult than it was in Abyss (all you need was what, level 30, level 35 for Jade).  :psyduck: I'm running the PS3 version, by the way, and yes, I do mean Mystic Artes when I said Hi-ougi.

Seeing that you're a vesperia veteran, can you enlighten me when is the earliest anyone in your party can pull off his or her hi-ougi? I'm currently at the Port of Capua Nor, and I assume that's still awfully early game.

Doesn't F-Miyako have some bodyslam or something? Or am I thinking of the wrong groove?  :psyduck:

The TFT version, DotA Allstars, is a far cry from what it used to be during the RoC days, due to it being developed by another guy (Icefrog) rather than the original creator (Eul). Perhaps someone more adapt can fill us in on the history of DotA, because I remember only bits and pieces of it.

Most of the crescent-moon style characters are largely similar to their MBAC counterparts. Practise your main's Crescent style a shot and perhaps try out a different moon for variety.

Yeah, it's something I discovered just a moment ago through netplay. What the fuck is up with her aerial priority over Akiha's aerials?  :mystery:

Akiha's Tea Room / Impatience and zoning in MBAA
« on: May 02, 2010, 04:36:08 AM »
I consider myself an average player who had more or less grasped the mechanics of MB since MBR, the first game of the series I've played. However, having little experience facing off against decent human players (roughly 90% of my playtime is against AI), I was destroyed 1-3 when I pit myself against an average C-Warc recently. It's only then I realized that my level of play is still shallow and I have to step it up.

His approach was semi turtle-style - playing keep away with aerial bloodrings (which I tend to run into all of the time, damn) and pulling off a combo or EX-bloodring whenever he sees an opening. I'm also the unfortunate victim of Warc's arc drive-and-block cheese. A few minutes into the match and having lost nearly half my health and unable to find an opening through all those bloodrings, I began to feel frustrated and ended up losing the round. It's then I realised throwing random projectiles/attacks and being unpredictable is an important aspect in stepping up my game. I'm still sore about being clobbered, but looking at it from another perspective I'm also gaining versus play experience at the same time.

C-Warc easily zoned me using bloodrings. My main and sub are C-Akiha and F-WLen respectively. What are the zoning tools they have at hand that can keep an opponent at bay and/or instill fear in them?

I wonder if Mimana has multiple endings. :psyduck: I'm having trouble playing through more than the first dungeon, because the game feels so clunky and awful.

Might go back to Yggdra Union.

DP - I'll also send you the rest of that stuff tonight if you're around.

Mimana has multiple endings. One normal and one for each female character - Sophie, Melrose, Tinon and Patty. But really, would you go through Mimana a second time after you're done with it?

KitM on the PSP is rather awkward. I can't use my guys in leveling mode. What gives?  :psyduck:

With this in mind, why would the devs leave unused data within the game disc?

That's MBAA's version of Executioner Ciel. I recall seeing it in a video before.. she's not playable though.

A question for you KOF veterans; when was Kula Diamond's debut?

Instead of initiating a trainer battle, you can choose to shoot him and steal his Pokemon instead.

Grand Theft Auto: Pokemon Edition?  :psyduck:

Blizzard simply hasn't paid enough "gratuity" to get them to lower the rating. Trust me, when you rake in 2 million dollars in four hours for a horse that does absolutely nothing but look cool, they can afford to throw a couple million dollars their way.

And people wonder why I hate Blizzard sometimes...

I'll buy that horse, though I don't play WoW.  :mystery:
