Akiha's Tea Room / Re: so what do you guys listen to?
« on: March 16, 2007, 02:47:17 PM »
Sadly my music is mostly from Anime, Anything sung by cute Japanese women ... really ... uhh just j-music for the most part.  My fave vocalists are probably Maaya Sakamoto  followed closely by Kokia .. I like   exist trace and AN CAFE and a little gackt too and also I like Fearless(Huo Yuan Jia) by Jay chou and I'm pretty fond of SOUL'd OUT but thats just some of many others I really like. As for American music though I'm pretty dated since I don't listen to it much I like ludacris and eminem ... theres a song by blue october that I like, I think its hate me now.  For "American" music its really just whatever I hear and like I'm not too specific.

Hay guys I'm Duppy, also known as the worst Melty Blood player on the east coast, a sad emo who cuts down the street (), and bellreisa's punching bag. I also hate you all. Really.

So, uh... what's good?
I'm actually the worst player on the east coast, Though I'm not known.

oh my bad then.

as i make a big fool of myself. . .

Is this really happening? I was thinking about going if I could to get an idea of where I stand really ... but then again IF no good players are going either then it would be a waste of time anyways though i could allways use it to see what the MA MB scene is like ... because I would like to try and push the MB scene in MA if there are enough players.

So I heard that east coast made a ranking list of MBAC players...  is this info true?  if so i would like to know who is on this list, and is it all of the U.S. or just east coast?
You heard incorrectly, I made a "tier" list of all the SRM players that i have played ranking them based on the difficulty i had playing them. I mainly did it for fun though members could have used it as a vague idea of who they should look to play against but a certain pair of people just took it too seriously.  It wasn't supposed to be serious, it was by no means accurate given the lag factors between people obviously but oh well if it wasn't one thing it was another.

Obviously its impossible for some people to over come their egos and just enjoy something even if its just random stupidity. Also I guess its kinda depressing because I cant ever contribute anything to a community without it being some kind of massive problem.

Akiha Tohno / Re: The Akiha Effect
« on: March 12, 2007, 09:20:14 AM »
I play Akiha because ... well she's cute >.>  but i also play V Akiha ... whom I'm trying to main now ...be for it was Akiha .. their both cute ...

Akiha was the first char i played back when i first got MB and when i played vs my firend he used Ciel ... so i figured what the hell ... i don't know ... i cant give you any complex reasoning .. she's a great character but lacks something ... V Akiha has that something so i guess thats why V is more popular.

184
Hiya, I'm .. it doesn't matter really anyways .. I use Akiha, Aka Akiha, Nanaya, Tohno and Satsuki and I suck with all of them. I'm from Holliston MA, I don't know much about the MB scene in MA when I first started playing nobody even knew what MB was.

I'm looking to play people and hopefully get better at the game, After i get my working situation and all that stuff settled i plan to travel to TGA when i have time but i wonder if the traveling is worth it sometimes because i don't think its a game many people even bother to try.

Anyways, Nice to meet you all and i hope ill actually learn something at this forum.

what do you mean?

I cant really do anything at my place ... but  we could probably set something up somewhere, Saturdays i can get a ride out to whereever when my mom goes out to do the shopping and stuff. I know its kinda sad but i really am a bum for now .. and i wouldn't mind hosting things at my place if it was just me but i live with my mom and grandmother so . . .

EDIT: One of the members form SRM Rorec is coming back to MA for the summer we were planning to go to tga and play there or maybe set something up closer since he'll be in westborogh.  In framingham there is this place "GU" if i remember correctly they rent out their big TV's for like 20 bucks for 2 hours or something like that so maybe we could set someting up there.

Anyways drop by #srm or IM me on aim and maybe we can figure/plan something out.

wow i had no idea that things like 6956 would give you IAD, is that better than just doing 686?
the only time IADing gives me trouble is when I'm trying to do a back iad and 236a with v akiha or doing it when I'm stuck in a corner to get j.c.  I have little experience with MB on a stick but i bet ill probably end up having to do something else when i do start using one.

what gets you to IAD faster? 686, 6956 or 96?

I wonder the same in general. Hmmm, I never tried 686 before.

96 only works on a pad, for the reason we just discussed why. Though it's probably better to do 696 since you wouldn't have to do 96 faster to get just as low as you would by doing 696.

I'd recommend using 686 to anyone, Ive tested trying 696 and 96 and 6956, 686 seems to work the best, but again i have little experience on an arcade stick so it may be differant for that. once i get a stick ill be able to try it out and find a better way of doing it.

I wish you the best of luck.

Try to have as much fun as you possibly can while being serious about it, Because it can be rather stressful, SBO that is.

*sigh* i live in MA, I've been meaning to go to TGA but my only means of travel is walking for now >.> so that isn't happening anytime soon, plus from what i understand people only show up for ran bats and not even that many play MB, granted I'm not good at the game but it would be pointless if I'm just playing the AI.

At least you guys don't have to pay 50en for at the very most, 5 rounds. Ko-hatsu only plays best of three :/

50 yen...it's that like 50 cents? If so, that's pretty much the standard for any arcade game in North America. It's completely affordable.

And anyway, I wouldn't mind paying up to 100 yen for at the least, best out of three in some Japanese arcade. At least the comp would be good! Not that I don't suck at this game, but mostly everyone here plays like newbies.

in America most fighting games are set to best of 2 well at least by namco owned places ... i know they've been phasing out of the arcade market recently though ...

I remember when tekken 5 first came out we had it set to 2 rounds and $1 for a game. That was only for like the first week but still. Even at best its usually 50 cents for best of 2 since that is the default for most fighters and its namco policy to leave the games mostly factory settings, I remember one time we changed SC2 from best of 2 to best of 3 and then we ended up taking flack from the regional manager and had to change it back.

*cry* playing like a newbie isn't that bad ; ;

Anyone here especially talented at creating animated avatars? i have some funky ideas for an aoko/akiha one if anyone is interested in my proposal. and dont worry, i wont be asking for a full-length film or something outrageous like that  Tongue.
I'm not exactly talented but if you just want imiages that are allready made to be turned into a .gif i could probably do it, since that just means animating them and saving as .gif ... i usualy just animate random  sprites from MB ... win poses and such, ive actualy got some random  ones posted somewhere on SRM
