Didn't FT used to play in AC?

Yes. There should be some videos of him playing AC on youtube, but everything comes up as MBAA.   :'(

27
I don't think it matters whether or not MBAA ever has a chance to make it into EVO's official lineup next year. You can still have a hype tournament even if your game ends up being a side tournament. I think case point to this was that huge GGAC side tournament at EVO this year. I don't know the exact number of players, but it must of gotten more than 50 players, a couple of which included some high level JPN players like RF and Kindebu (yes I know they went for SSF4AE but still). That's pretty amazing for a game that's been overall dead competitively, for years.

As for the grind always being there, of course it is, but it should be as short and painless as possible.

I agree but sometimes it's not too bad. Sometimes the difficult of overcoming that hurdle can be a rewarding experience.

I have no problem with a game that has high or low execution requirements (I would prefer the latter). It just seems wack to me when you can do so much crazy damage, IMO.  ;D

Go play an mmorpg if you want time spent grinding to equate to damage.  It's no different, don't even try.

Any game you play there's always something to practice. There grind is always there...

A "pro" doesn't lose to a scrub no matter what the execution requirements are.  Being good in a low execution game means you know how to land a hit and not get hit, which the "pro" will do more of.  Being good in a high execution game means you can play ddr.

Saying you want an execution barrier is saying you want to go korean mmo in training mode and beat everyone who didn't for free because you do three times as much damage as them.

Higher execution doesn't make a game more deeper or anything, but it'd like a higher one for this game if everyone is gonna do mega damage. I'd like for my opponent to have spent a little more time to have earned the ability to that kind of damage. Fast fly combos in MvC2 weren't that difficult, but it certainly was not ez mode like it is in MvC3.

I still like this game in all but this is just one of the few aspects I don't like about this game. And yes, I could play a game like XvSF where you die in exactly one hit all the time, and still have fun. I just was hoping that MvC3 wasn't going to turn into a game crazy sort of like that.

Wait...you start by saying requiring training mode for damage is good, then say you'd rather play the game with reliable easy high damage.

I never mentioned anything about training mode. The main theme with my post was that I'd rather play a game where high damage is not generally easy to do all the time. If it is, hopefully there's some kind of barrier like execution or balanced meter requirements for it not to occur all the time.

You shouldn't be losing to mash x-factor.  You should be losing to good x-factor bs though.

This is true but X-Factor at the moment seems like bs. So I have to have perfect defense for 20 seconds or however long it is when highly mobile characters Phoenix or Sentinel have multiple ways to hit me into a touch of death combo? And I probably don't want to use my assist if I don't want them to die either. Kinda lame. :emo:

Oh wait, any scrub can pick storm sent and do launcher magic la lightning drones launch magic in mvc2.  How long does learning ahvbx# take?

A lot less time than a simple bnb in this game. I'd gladly play that kind of scrub in that game, over someone mashing with X-Factor.  ;) ;D

Yeah, I know too early to talk about this kind of stuff, but it gets me thinking that if any character can do crazy damage already, it means that the dmg can only get possibly higher with time.

I'm not saying that this makes the game bad or anything, but it seems a bit too much for me, and I could see other people thinking the same way.

Its funny because the first point is countered by the second, no chip during X-Factor and you can activate it during blockstun :P.

X-Factor is far too valuable to waste on trying to avoid taking the least damage that's possible in the game (when regular ones do 50-70%), unless it's going to chip you to death.

ST has much easier damage (throws yo) and it seems to have longevity, maybe. And every game has a character no one likes but everyone uses. :P

Throws are not easy because projectile characters zone out grapple characters too well. It's quite possible to see the most seasoned Zangief or T.Hawk get destroyed in a match and never get within SPD range. Supers are a better example for more easy, big damage, but it's more balanced since most characters can only get a bar a match, and not everyone can easily land their super.

The thing with MvC3 so far it seems that everyone seems to be able to do insane damage and there's no execution barrier to balance it out. Sure you can do similar crazy stuff in MvC2 or MvC1, but nothing a scrub could mash and actually do retarded damage.

I take back almost everything good that I said about this game.  Deadpool quotes(which you can find on youtube) and morrigan's chest(which you can find on any hentai image website) are the only good things in this game.

Still worth playing to make chibi complain though.

Whoa, what sparked such a drastic change in opinion?

Insane chip damage? X-Factor cheese? Easy 50-100% bnbs? Sentinel?  ;D

Can't think of much to say but it looks pretty ill.

Lolisauce, there was what looked like reverse beating AND airdash in the video...

Yeah, looks like it @ 0:27.

First screen looks a reaaly good range high kick with low invincibility.
Second screen is also a good range 2c (same range as wara 2c)
I wonder what kind of moveset she will get. IF she gains her AD as one of her EX drives then what will be her normal AD/Last Arc?

Speculations:
Her special moves maybe some kind of thrusts with Seven, like dash-thrust, anti-air thrust to the air, and ground shake thrust with ground unblockable stuff (EX version) and maybe a command throw.
Also high chance that she will gain super armor on some of her normal/special moves (I assume Full moon Powerd Ciel will have the most)
Well these are my first thoughts.

Relunx

My guess is that normal in the first picture is a command normal from the B button, maybe with 6B? The pushback on that normal in a combo looks insane though, so I assume like you do that there must be a special or EX that gives some serious horizontal distance in order to follow up into a lengthy combo. Perhaps a pilebunker? :fap:.

Look, I can be a dick as much as I want. The truth is Coren should be able to handle it if he was a real man. But no, I gave him a simple idea of insecurity of his own character and he totally went overboard with it. I gave him simple jabs that could be taken as either personal or as a light joke, he took it as a direct insult to his manhood, so he blew up.

I don't see any sympathy towards people who can't handle their shit, much like 12 year olds who just discovered facebook and can't take an insult over the internet. Such are the ways of basement dwellers and 4channers. It is true that I was a dick. But I did it for his sake, for anyone who knows me knows that I don't aim to be rude at other people, I don't even necessarily confront those people who I don't like. What I see in Coren though when I look at him is just ...unrespectable. That's why I did what I did. Never have I seen someone so easily trolled. Claiming that he had enough shit from other people at Mike's apartment. GEE, I WONDER WHY.

Look, if anything, it's a life lesson for him I'm doing for him. He should know I have nothing against him and I did it for the lulz. HAHAHAAH

I don't think he asked for your "tough love", so were you really doing him a favor? Sounds more like you need some kind of crutch to justify you being a jerk to people. And lol at you talking about how he should be a man, while you're acting like a child by instigating drama by trolling online. And it's even worst because your trolling people in your own community. lol wtf kind of person does something like that. :psyduck:

39
I only said what I said because Coren was accusing of me deterring people fromm playing. I know it sounded arrogant, and mostly it was said in the moment, but I do not like it when someone who can't even something as simple as bring his recording setup since he was the only one with a portable one, basically telling me that I'm deterring people from playing. Too much stuff to bring? I always bring my stick, PS2 and 2 extra pads whenever I go to a meet. Recording setup is just a laptop and dazzle.

Well I don't know your personality, but even for a normal person in the heat of the moment, it would seem odd for them to say something so self-entitling like, "my scene", when their trying to defend themselves when it comes to helping out a scene. It just seems that far out of place in the argument, I'd be more inclined to think it was a slip-of-the-tongue on your part, and that you meant it in some kind of sincerity. If I were in your scene, it would definitely be a thought in the back of my mind.  ;D

And really, I like how most people other than the ones living in Vancouver will automatically assume I'm the one at wrong here just because I don't go on IRC and thus no one really knows who I am. If anyone really bothered to look at the beginning of this, you would've seen that I was the first and only person to tell Wu to stop trolling. He couldn't find something to say to Wu so he ended up taking out his frustration at me.

It's true that I'm sure most people don't know you, but you posted all of this online for everyone to see. All can we judge upon is what we see, so you can't help but to expect to get this kind of criticism. You folks aren't the only ones who do this, but this little episode just goes to show why everyone should save this kind of drama for PMs or IRL. That way things have less of a chance of getting misinterpreted and blown up online, or have outsiders interfere. And it just makes everyone and the scene look bad, period. I know this doesn't have anything to do with me, but I just felt I had to say something since like Alexey said, it's sad to see the vancity scene nowadays go through something like this, knowing how hard it is get players for this game. I wish I had half of the players you have, during my time. ;D

Maybe the animosity between certain people here was unavoidable, but you all could definitely handle the situation in a better manner.

40

The only reason why we even have this thread, people to play with, and a scene is because of me. I have yet to see YOU bring a SINGLE player into the scene.

That's kind of a selfish thing to say. Even though an organizer's role in the fg scene is very important, a scene wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the players. Also, I'm sure if you weren't around someone else could of picked up the slack. Someone always does because it's just the natural thing to do if you want to play these kinds of games. And that's exactly what happened, when people were playing MB, before you were even around. Saru Kada helped to make it happen. So did Alexey, Shui and myself. Even when we didn't have a place to play, we did it gazebo-style. Why? Cuz we wanted to play ofc!  ;D

While what you do to help your scene is appreciated I'm sure, it's probably best not to get too arrogant with that fact. ;)

Yeah, you're right.  I do need to learn some fundamentals like air footsies just so I know how to play games like that.

Training mode and watching vids can help, but you honestly can't learn stuff like that without playing a lot, just it is for SF footsies.

You should practice and go to as many meets as you can, regardless of what fundamentals you lack. The more you play, the easier it will be to achieve them. Experience > *
