I confess I don't know how to send money away from the country, but I'll find it out if needed. I'll also give my msn adress to the winners, so they can inform where to deposit.

Why not paypal?

52
Oh right, now I remember you and your lady friend. ;D I was in Pool A and hardly left it, so I guess that's probably why I didn't see you. I was only around for casuals the first day, as well.

53
Damn, forgot all about this one. Ugh...I'll see what I can do as a last minute thing.

Haha, you always say that. Hopefully you can.  ;D

Yeah though, were you @ EVO? I thought you went but I never saw you. If you did, then I'm surprised that I could of forgotten how you look like.  :psyduck:

54
You can find out by coming.  ;) ;D

55
Awesome.

Yes that sounds fine to me.

We need one for F definitely!

I'm thinking about bring a dedicated setup for Melty, Arcana, and other PS2 games, so no one has to take over a tv being used for Melty, to run a tourney match (hopefully). The only problem with my crt tv is that it's too huge and is like 30-40 pounds. Do you think Appletree has trolleys, Desmond? Even if two people carry this beast, it's too much to ask considering how far away the ballroom is from the parking lot. And who knows how cleared up the parking lot will be. I wouldn't want to see myself or others slip and have the tv fall of them.  :emo:

I don't know where you live, but if you can get yourself to the airport you're practically at the event. If you live in one of the Cities, you can take a trip there with city transportation.

Ok, I think I know who you are for sure.

Yeah, I'd like to play people in this game too but I'd rather play with people whom are serious about learning the game and being competitive. People who don't tend not to stay for long and they end up quitting...

I know what you mean. It's frustrating when you take a game seriously and your only competition doesn't. That was the case for my old offline ReACT/early MBAC scene. None of them took the game seriously and eventually they did quit, as you mentioned. Still though, I wish they didn't leave me behind, because it was a lot more fun when they were around. I've been playing MB on and off since the original. It took me 4-5 years after starting to play the game to actually experience some offline play. So I'll take any competition gladly.  ;D

Hey michglich and Light, what part of Minnesota are you two from? It would be cool to get some sessions in with people before the tourney. I have virtually no serious competition in MB here..Either people are too busy, or don't know how to play because they don't have it or practice it.  :-\

Desmond, I'm just using a different name here. You know who this is probably, so I won't say. ;D

That's true. SSF4's popularity here has eclipsed every other game, where people don't really play side games anymore. It's a shame, I think.

I don't really mind the lack of competition or serious play here. All I really want is to play some people in this game.

PC melty just kills tourney scene

deal with it

More like a PC version makes people lazy enough to kill their own scene.  :V

People do realize that if we get a ps3 port there's most likely going to be netplay on it regardless, so with that said, there's virtually no reason to have it on a PC if that happens.

That doesn't mean that the netplay won't be ass, or playable for people outside of Japan or Asia. If huge developers like Namco and Capcom can't deliver "good" netplay, what makes people think a smaller developer will?

Well, HRAP2 are out of production now. Your best bet is buying one off of Ebay or something, or Cthulu modding a PS3/360 stick.

Apparently this December AkihabaraShop is re-releasing the HRAP2:SA. Not worth it honestly in the OP's situation though, yes.

Good tips from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhKsXAxoQNI

Serious answer though...your method sounds good but you need to practice way more than what you're putting in right now. One hour a day would be good for a starting point. I think four hours a day would be good.

If you want to practice hit confirms, single player mode is a nice alternative to random blocking in training mode.

73
You know I have a feeling at some point this question has been asked...maybe even in this very thread. :mystery:

Anyway, I just want to know how cheap of a PC can one build/buy to get MBAA to run smoothly, constant 60 FPS even in 2 player mode? Maybe even list the specs for this coveted "budget nugget"?

Also for anyone wondering, yeah, I got a PS2 and play MBAA on it. However if I ever feel sadistic I kinda want to play "Suggoi! Arcana Heart 2", but I'm not sadistic enough to play on PS2. :blah:

I built my new PC under $500. I reused my gfx though.

74
Nah it's not about that. It's mostly that they're looking more into GvG Extreme and MBCC uses a completely different board than what they have that they're not very willing to get it.

Well then that sucks! Hopefully they do get it and yall get a real arcade scene for that game.

75
Really wouldn't count on CHQ getting it. They're far too lazy to go that far for MBCC.

I'm sure they remember that no one played MBAC when they had it. This was even before the PC port came out.  :psyduck:
