NetPlay Community / LPT's Netplay Tournament-Ranbat #2 1/2/09
« on: December 30, 2008, 06:27:27 AM »
It is time to sign up for the second Ranbat netplay tournament, folks! Rules are posted below. Remember, only entrants from North America, Canada, or Mexico, and all matches are ideally below 5 delay.

Template
Name: This is the nickname you will be known as during the tournament. This means you need to change whatever your mIRC nick is to this to avoid confusion.
Location: Where you are located.
Contact Information: An email address or IM address, please.

When?: 8:00 pm East Coast Time on Friday, January 2nd. Please join the designated channel by 7:30 pm so I may take a head count. (Date is subject to change.)
Where? #ECMB @ EFNet on mIRC. (Contact me if you do not have IRC)
Who? YOU!
Why? To prove your gdlk netplay skills, of course.
What? Second Ranbat!

Rules
1. Any number of participants may join.
2. All matches are taken best 2/3, except for the Grand Final and Bracket Finals, which are best 3/5.
3. This tournament is double elimination.
4. You may change characters only if you lose a battle with one. (Under no circumstances may you win a battle, and then switch.)
5. After the first game is played, the losing player decides whether to play a rematch or switch.
6. No casuals while the tournament is going on, please. There is nothing more annoying than waiting for someone to finish casually playing when they're supposed to be playing an actual match.
7. All matches will be randomly decided.
8. This tournament is a Ranbat. (Rules listed below)

Ranbat Rules
I would like to make this a monthly (perhaps bi-monthly) event, so I am going to keep a chart which keeps track of the points each participant retains in each Ranbat. Earning points is achieved simply by winning a set, and advancing in your bracket. (Normal battles award 1 point, winning a bracket final awards 3 points, and winning a Grand Final awards 5.) Your current Ranbat score will be updated each time you participate in a Ranbat tourney, and I will keep track of anyone who plays in a Ranbat ever. (If you join during the first, and then not play in it again until the fifth, I will still have you on my little database.) In this way, I hope to create a small netplay stats chart.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you'll sign up! If you have any questions, or want to be involved in running it, please contact me on AIM (sn is pablotacotea) or by email. (pablotacotea@aol.com) Thanks again!!

NetPlay Community / LPT's Netplay Tournament-Ranbat 11/8
« on: November 03, 2008, 06:30:11 PM »
After being gone for a month or so, I'm very eager to get some kind of competitive playing going on, and I mean before NEC. So why not hold a little Netplay tournament, eh? Anyone from the United States/Mexico/Canada region can join, so long as you can get 5 delay or lower with anyone from either coast. (Cases where delay is higher will be dealt with as they come.) A tournament bracket will be formed (and more than likely posted) by me. I encourage any and all Melty players with a decent internet connection to join. The combatant template and rules are below.

Join the weekly tournament at The Sacred Red Moon, the Ranbats. It's a relatively free-style tournament.

It happens every week or two, come if it fancies you.

NetPlay Community / NetPlay Tournament #2
« on: January 16, 2008, 02:25:43 PM »
Hey, it's time to start recruiting people for Netplay Tournament #2, the February round. For those of you who were apart of the first tourney, you know how it works. SacchinWantPie and myself are co-running it, but his internet is in trouble, so we'll get it set up and ready for him when he's ready to come back.

To sign up, just post following this template:
Name/Alias: Your name
Location: Where you are. (State)
Contact: Email, IRC, something

We'll all be meeting on the mIRC channel at irc.pyoko.org in the room --> Tesujisnetplayroom on February 2nd at 9:00 PM East Coast time. This tournament is scheduled to be done all in one night, so that means you'll have to book the majority of the afternoon for MBAC. We will take a  break for people on the WC to fetch dinner, so don't worry. The rules are about the same as they were in the last game, but there are a few changes:
-Tournament Bracket software will be used for the brackets this time around.
-All match ups will be randomized by the same software.
-All matches will be best out of 3, except the Grand Finale, which is out of 5 matches.
-Matches will be played in a more orderly fashion.
-Desyncs will be handled by SWP and myself.
-You may switch characters only if you lose, but you don't have to.
-PM me, or post here if the date or time is bad.
-All matches are 1 on 1.
-Any matches with a delay 7 or higher will most likely be switched, to be fair to both players.
-Double elimination.

And that's about all I got. I'll be entering, and I'm guessing SWP will be too.

REGISTRATION FOR TOURNAMENT CLOSES AT 8:00 PM EAST COAST TIME! (Because I need to get a bracket set up and posted)

Akiha's Tea Room / A Melty Blood Parody

That is my home-made story video that is based on Tsukihime. (For now, at least) The protagonist of the story is Arcueid. If you have a few minutes, please watch it. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how I can improve it, so don't be afraid to give some constructive criticism and/or compliments. Thanks!  :D

*Note to the admins: I know it's not MBAC, but it's Melty Blood related. If this shouldn't be allowed, simply PM me or notify me in some way, and I'll remove it.*

NetPlay Community / PS2 Controller button config?
« on: October 05, 2007, 04:32:30 PM »
I just recently got an extension hook up for my PS2 controller, and it works fine and all, but I do not like it's default button configuration. Does anyone know how to change it?

NetPlay Community / Anyone want to play?
« on: September 29, 2007, 12:01:54 PM »
I finally got it to work . ^_^ Now, would anyone like to play me? I'm usually really quite good, but I have no computer controller, so on the keyboard, I'm average at best. Please post your IPs here, if you'd like to play me.

NetPlay Community / Help!!!
« on: September 25, 2007, 06:03:48 PM »
I'm new here, and am really in need of some help. It's reguarding the net play of MBAC B. I have the castor and it's files in my MBACWIN folder, along with the mbacPC.exe file, and when I go to enter online play, my Melty Blood crashes, and it says "mbacPC.exe has stopped working." It does this EVERY time. I am using a vista, by the way. Any help is greatly appreciated!
