I was kinda hoping MBACvB would be the latest in the series for a while longer, because new releases means more money I have to spend again  :P

On the flipside to that, it couldn't hurt to have built in netplay support soon  :toot:
Need... more... info...

Are you dropping a lot of frames during netplay?  Are you windowed or fullscreened?

A forum coordinated ostracism?
I feel right at home!  :D

In all seriousness, the were less humiliating ways to deal with this.

Options menu.  I pointed this out in another thread as well, the "What not to do during netplaying" thread.

Hi I'm "Trop". I generally play league DotA with friends after getting off the sickening drugs that are MMOz.
Ah, a fellow DotAholic!
Best hero?  (Say Stealth Assassin and I kill you.)
I'm a big fan of teh Beastmaster.  REXXXXAARRRRRRRRR!

I plan on trolling the forums hard.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: My thoughts on the Melty Blood US Scene.

I'm going to compare this with Super Smash Bros. Melee now.

In SSBM everyone and their mother plays as Marth, Shiek, and space animals competitively.
That said, Marth will always try to distance himself to hit you with the tip of his sword, space animals will only use advanced tactics when fighting, and Shiek will try to juggle you in the air as long as humanly possible.

In SSBM "combos" in the traditional sense are the most difficult part of the game to learn, whereas in MB it's easy to mash buttons and eventually find some, even if they suck.  Some characters can't even do it.  What ends up happening is learning combos in MB and using them effectively even if they are difficult tends to not attract as much interest as seeing the almighty Ken (Look him up on youtube.) use his 5-6 hit Marth combos.

A main factor for the development of character tactics and strategy is the size and diversity of the player base.  Note the distinct lack of an English release of MB in the US.  Having groups of people who think differently in very fundamental ways is one of the greatest things that can happen for the success of a game.

And now for something completely different...
Ever heard of DotA? (Defense of the Ancients)
It started out as a Warcraft3 custom map, but got popular and now has worldwide attention and tournaments.  Why is this relevant?  Because if you see international teams play against each other in this setting, my above argument becomes clearer.  Players from a particular country tend to play the same way, make the same decisions, and value certain items the same way as each other for almost no apparent reason.  Russians tend to buy Necronomicons for just about any hero they pick.  Why?  No idea.  But it's an interesting strategy, no?  You'll also see American players act more aggressively than others and attempt to go Rambo style 1v5 at every opportunity.
I apologize in advance if no one gets my specific reference, but maybe some people will get it.

hey im new to using Hamachi so i was sorta wondering how do u use it to join or make a game for Melty Blood Act Cadneza Ver.B ???

any replys would help alot thanks  :D
Read the MBCaster stickied thread for common Q&A next time.
What Hamachi does is simulate a LAN connection so people who are using routers can still connect with each other.  Or just a a meeting place where random people can find matches (Though the ten user limit for servers is pretty frustrating.)

Choose a stage with a static background, like any Tohno Mansion stage.  Avoid the animated ones like Warc's, Shiki's, Sion's etc.

You can disable background animations in the options too.  Just set stage type to "simple"

The rips on GGSlash are alright, but since the images are cropped you need to align them manually which can be a pain.  Ripping them yourself is always a better idea.

Hello I am aokmaniac13.
Nothing exciting happens here, thus not many people here have been exposed to fighting games.
I found out about Melty Blood through a fighting game engine called M.U.G.E.N and I've been a fan ever since.
My experiences with fighting games date back to playing a game called One Must Fall 2097, but I haven't really played things like Street Fighter and King of Fighters until a couple of years ago.

Here's a peace offering.

Post fixed?
In any case I didn't say these were good combos, I'm just saying this is how I progressed to learn tougher combos, since all it is is changing one or two attacks and adding a few more every time.  It worked for me anyway.

This combo is pretty easy to learn for beginners, I know this because it's the first one I learned to do >_<
2c, 6c, ja, ... , ja, jc, Airthrow

Then I expanded it a bit.
2b, 5b, 6b, 2c, 6c, ja, ... , ja, jc, Airthrow

And after watching some Miyako vids online, I modified it a bit.  It's still rather difficult for me but I'm practicing.
2b, 5b, 6b, 2c, 6c, jb, jc, (jump again), jc, jb, Airthrow

Naturally most of the combos already listed are far superior, but as I said these are pretty easy to learn, and rushing into a crouch with 2b is pretty tricky and catches some people off guard.
Also, a ground throw can be immediately comboed into 2c...

Edit: Post fixed.
